Amazing New Twist of a Classic Story. Depravity is a wonderful new twist on the Beauty and Beast classic! Beautifully written M.J. Haag tells her version of this classic story. I love the start and development of the Benella and the Beast relationship. Depravity will captivate you and keep you on your toes as the adventures of Beauty and her Beast begin. I’m very much looking forward to more of the story (Parts 2 & 3 coming soon). You won’t want to miss out on this adventure.

Devastation. A spellbinding enthralling sequel to the page-turner Deceit. I could not put it down and the ending left me breathless.

Spectacular read!. I started this book not really knowing what I was in for. I've read other erotic re-telling of fairy tails and I've never been satisfied . . . until now. I loved that this first book focused on really getting to know Benella's (the main character) life inside and out. We also get great detail of her father and sisters and well as the beast. It left me wanting more and imagining how their relationship will progress. 5 star story and left me dripping for more. That beast is not a patient one.

A Gripping Reworking of a Classic Tale. Stop right now and read this book. This is a mandatory read that will play with your emotions every step of the way and will cause you to think of The Beauty and the Beast in a completely different (and darker) light. I could not put this book down once I started reading it. In fact, I read the other 2 books in the series in quick succession once I finished it. I love the classic story of the beauty and the beast and this novel was a worthy adult remaking of it. To the author - please work your magic on other classic fairy tales. I will be the first in line to buy them if you so choose to rework more tales into your own. I look forward to reading more of your creations.

Deceit. Really good read. Easy to not put down

Awesome retelling. of a classic fairytale. MJ Haag does a wonderful job of building characters and carrying the reader along on a dynamic ride. I love Beauty and the Beast tales and this is my new favorite. I don't know how I'll survive until 8.25 for part III.

Best Retelling I Have Read Yet!!!!. I have read this whole series multiple times and it is one of the best retellings of the original fairy tale I have come across! It honestly reminds me so much of Cupid and Psyche too which just made me love Benella so much! The main character is not passive. She is very strong and intelligent it made me excited. She by no means meets with Stockholm either which makes me very happy for the whole story! Melissa you did an excellent job!

Great Spin to an All Time Favorite. I am a hard to please reader when it comes to retelling classics but i congratulate M.J.Haag for managing the coup. To weave a widely known and loved tale with your own, give it that deft spin and expertly take readers on a journey where few trails are travelled but more paths are yet to be explored is Sheer Excellence. It was a delight to read this one and left me wanting for more. I loved the characters buildup and absolutely adore Benella who is quick witted, intelligent, courageous, adventurous while at the same time is innocent, kind, giving and loving...

Amazing Writing. When I saw the cover of this book I was immediately intrigued. From the font choice to the mystery background with ominous trees and a large estate I had a good feeling this book was going to be full of beautiful, dark mystery. I will say that I was surprised at how young the girl is on the cover. This book is so much like Beauty and the Beast and yet so different at the same time. I didn’t feel like I was just reading the same old story. It was a beautiful, creative retelling which took me as a reader into the setting based on the vivid detail. It is similar because there is a young girl who is hopefully set to break a curse on a vain man and his estate with a bit of magic involved. Yet, this retelling is darker and has adult situations. There is a much heavier focus on Benella’s family (father and two sisters) compared to the original Beauty and the Beast. This book was so easy for me to gobble up. I was visiting family during the time I was reading it and I stole moments in the morning, between spending time with them, and late at night. It may have taken me a day to finish because I had to steal moments to read. I was hooked, am hooked, and can’t wait to finish the entire series and move on to more of M.J. Haag’s books. There were no elements in the writing I found distracting. This book was so very well-written and was an amazing change of pace from some of the other books I have read recently. I love when I can’t find one thing wrong with the writing. The storyline was well-thought out and all subplots were addressed appropriately. I found not one grammatical error. OH WHAT BLISS! I really enjoyed how realistic the non-magical references were in this book. The story was so incredibly down to earth. I loved how as a reader I really could feel the struggle Benella’s family had in making ends meet. There are so many different characters with their individual struggles, but for each one it was clear the setting was a difficult one. Without giving too much away, I really appreciated seeing the struggle of only being able to afford two different pairs of clothes and sometimes go without eating. The book took it to another level by adding in characters who take advantage of the struggles of others. All around, the struggles were so beautiful written. I have not read any other M.J. Haag or Mellisa Haag. However, she has earned a spot near the top of my list of favorite authors. Her writing is amazing and I am excited to finish this series and start The Tales of Cinder. And more and more and more!

Great Story with Magical Details - Easy Read. This 3 book series really kept me occupied! I loved the story and the characters. The enchanted spells and descriptive expressions almost felt real. It definitely a love story with drama and family drama too. Many people can relate and will fall in love with the main character! Highly recommend!

Depravity. A wonderfully written retelling of beauty and the beast that blends paranormal with a touch of erotica. The characters are well crafted and the story as enchanting as the classic tale.

Fantastic book series!. This series was phenomenal! I'm sure I went through every emotion possible throughout these books. The author is witty, great at developing characters, and fantastic at keeping the reader hooked until the very end. I have loved all her books.

A Dark and Twisted Fairy Tale. A riveting and compelling departure from Melissa Haag's other works. Once I start one of Melissa's books, I am consumed by her characters and storyline, and this book was no different. I love Depravity and have really enjoyed my two read throughs. The story follows Benella, her father, and her two sisters. The family is poor, and Benella helps to provide food that she hunts for, from an enchanted estate that is nearby. The beast, who guards the estate, desires payment from her for the things she has taken. I was intrigued by Benella; she is sweet, kind, and gracious, yet stubborn, hard working and sometimes blunt. The sisters and the father; I didn't care for so much. The father is kind, but very passive, and the sisters are self-centered, selfish, and spiteful. I felt very angry on Benella's behalf, because of their treatment of her. Another thing I love about this book is the pace. I was surprised to find that this book is only 186 pages. It reads like a much longer book. There is a lot of material and action packed into the pages (this is just Part 1), but I didn't feel like the storyline was rushed at all. The interaction between Benella and the beast is very gradual. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book. This is a much darker and more twisted tale than what Melissa usually delivers, but it is superbly written, as are all her other novels. Thank you, Melissa for another fabulous book!

Exciting. Please rewrite more fairytales. Such a fun read.

Be warned: cliffhanger here. This nastyawful successor to Scheherezade tells a darn good tale, and her writing voice keeps you glued to the story longer than you thought to linger. The sisters' names all begin with B--non-European names, to be sure, but the setting feels early 19th c. Our heroine is the one who does her best to put food on the table with what meagre coin, and trading food captured, foraged, or home grown to eke out what they don't grow or catch. The father is a schoolteacher rather than the usual travelling merchant usual in these tales. Be prepared to purchase all three enrapturing tales. I found this through a bargain ebook service.

Beastly goodness!. It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Mz Haag, but this novel is a huge departure for her, in that it is for adults only and it is dark and sinister. What does this mean? I friggin loved it of course! Benella is everything I love in a MC- flawed but not so deeply as to be appalling, quick witted, adventurous and insatiably curious. She makes you want to take risks and learn about things that scare you, maybe even live dangerously. Depravity retells Beauty and the Beast without the modern error of trying so hard as to be contrived and hollow. There are so many layers to this story, in fact, that its being released in three volumes. So yes, there's a major cliffhanger, but not to worry, we will be rewarded for our patience I'm sure! If you are worried about reading a new version of a beloved fairy tale, fret not- this is a story you will want to return to again and again. If you don't mind adult situations and a bit of language (which obviously I do NOT :) Nothing short of 5 stars! ***Free arc provided though I also bought my own copy, opinions are all mine.***

Page turner!. I could not put it down! It's a fairy tale favorite with dark and sexy undertones. I love the spin on the story. It is easy to put oneself in the position of the main character to experience and feel the things that she did.

Depravity 💜. A wonderful spin to one of the best fairy tales ever told. Beauty and the Beast has been my favorite of all time and to read it in a new setting is just amazing. M.J. Haag has done a marvelous job with this fairy tale. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. 💋

Depravity and spice. Depraved, and a little spicy! I actually appreciate the slow build, and the storyline makes a lot of sense for establishing belief in why Benella would end up in the Beast’s lair. I’m definitely intrigued to read more!

Crying.... This book is so good that when I thought I had reached the end and that there would not be a finish I IMMEDIATELY started to cry!!! Imagine my absolute JOY when I found out that I had found this series so late that Books 1 & 2 are already available. I LOVED IT. The story twist is a TV series of its own.which could go on a long way due to the fact that you have involved so many personalities to explore in the villages. Here the beast is patient, needy, very smart and surprisingly sneaky, i’m anticipating his next move. I’m really not fond of her father,s choise of employer. Very Adult version of "Beauty and the Beast", wow!. MJ Haag has written an awesome adult version -Beauty & the Beast inspired story (that's one of my favorite Disney movies when my daughter was a child). I really enjoyed this 3 book series. Would highly reccomend this series. I've re-read them 3 times. Some of my favorite books, & I don't normally re-read books! Looking forward to more books from MJ Haag!

Deceit. Felt cheated because it wasn't obvious that the story is split into three parts, which was not obvious from the description. The two other "books" are available for payment. Made nice reading, though. Can only speak for the first part - will not buy the rest of the story.

All I gotta say is wow !!. Wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did. I couldn't put it down and when I finally did I was eager to pick it right back up again. I read all three parts and would read them again and again.

Unable to put it down!. Depravity was such a thrilling read I was unable to put it down! Usually I get bored with sequels but I just couldn't wait to find out what would happen to Benella and her beast.

Great book!. This is a really good book! It's a little rough around the edges, but really hard to put down! I can't wait to get my hands on the second one!
