Fire touched. I expected more. After the last book and hinted possibility that mercy might've been pregnant I had been looking forward to this. Now that I've read it, it was extremely disappointing and almost a copy of a charmed episode I watched, including the plot line of needing to save a child that held power over fire.

Best so far. Very good book, best of the series so far!

Loved this new Mercy book!. I just absolutely adored this book. The fire god one was great, and this one was really great, too. The fight with the troll was just really cool, and the tension between the fae, the wolves, and the humans was just fantastic. I LOVED the multi-level marketing bit. It was really funny and tied everything together just wonderfully.

Mercy's Still on Top!. I would like to thank Ace & NetGalley for an e-ARC of this book to review. Though I received this e-book for free, that has no impact upon the honesty of my review. Goodreads Teaser: "Mercy Thompson has been hailed as "a heroine who continues to grow and yet always remains true to herself."* Now she's back, and she'll soon discover that when the fae stalk the human world, it's the children who suffer... Tensions between the fae and humans are coming to a head. And when coyote shapeshifter Mercy and her Alpha werewolf mate, Adam, are called upon to stop a rampaging troll, they find themselves with something that could be used to make the fae back down and forestall out-and-out war: a human child stolen long ago by the fae. Defying the most powerful werewolf in the country, the humans, and the fae, Mercy, Adam, and their pack choose to protect the boy no matter what the cost. But who will protect them from a boy who is fire touched?" As with the prior Mercy Thompson books this one runs pretty true to form. Crazy situations that somehow end up revolving around Mercy, and usually spilling out into some, if not all, of the pack. Since Mercy made Joel part of the pack without going through the proper channels there's been some tension between certain pack members and her. So when she makes a rash declaration that's unfortunately picked up on national news, things go from mild tension to just under DEFCON Five. But Mercy was being guided by ancient fae Magic at the time, so it wasn't really her fault. Was it? Mercy is still Mercy, yet she continues to evolve with each new adventure. These days her changes aren't as radical, usually more emotional as she and Adam try to find a happy medium for both of them to survive, and thrive, in their still shiny new relationship. She has her man, family, and the pack. So the big stuff is mostly handled. Mostly. Her mouth still has a tendency to get her into trouble. Thankfully she has enough control to avoid verbal trouble with the fae. At least she usually does. Some of that is thanks to her mechanics mentor and friend Zee. Though Zee and his son Tad disappeared in the last book, they've still got roles to play in this one, so we get to see them in one way or another in part of this tale. In some ways it's like going back to the beginning, which is part of what makes Mercy's stories so engaging and endearing; her ability to make unusual friends into part of her extended family, and keep them as constants in her life is a real part of her attraction. She, Adam, and the pack still have battles to fight, evil to triumph over, treaties to draft and enforce. In other words, a typical few weeks in Mercy's life. But it's the personal stuff, and the expertly portrayed emotional experiences that really help hold these books together and keep them from feeling stale or recycled. That, and of course the awesome adventures that Mercy's growing family continue to get pulled into. Each situation still feels unique and different from those that went before, so it remains very easy to get pulled into each new Mercy Thompson adventure and stay there to the very end. And then lament the fact that you've got at least eight months, if not a lot longer, to wait for the next exciting installment in the Mercy chronicles.

Fire Touched. Patricia Briggs delivers another fabulous book in the Mercy Thompson Series. The interaction between the pack continues to deepen. Old friends made me laugh out loud. I devoured the book and wanted to savor it at the same time. It will go on my shelf to re-read again and again as a favorite.

Best in the series so far. The other books in the series have set the stage nicely for this book. There is a part in the beginning that had me laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes. Its great to see the characters together in a more relaxed setting, strengthening bonds instead of only being together to fight. She is amassing friends and allies that are willing to follow her. I can't wait to see how they will all come together for the epic battle that is coming. Mercy has taken a beating in most of the books in this series and it's nice to have her only bruised this time. In a nice twist, she stayed human instead of running or fighting as a coyote. Her character is evolving as she takes on the role of a translator/ liaison and I think it makes her seem more mature. My complaint is not about what is in the book, but what I want it to have in it. I would love for her to be pregnant! There is a nod towards that idea when she goes to underhill, and I hope she is wrong in thinking that she's not. I can imagine her frustration as everyone tries to 'wrap her in wool' to cushion her from the world. All of these big bad monsters going goo goo over a baby would be very entertaining (though a pregnancy would be a whole book by itself).

Amazing. I love this series, and the sister series. They are always amazing. Sometimes the author confuses things that she said before, but they are easy to ignore.

Love!. Mercy Thompson never disappoints!!! Love this series! I always impatiently wait for the next one! Love the addition of Aiden to Mercy's dysfunctional family! Hope he stays!

Another great story!. Patricia Briggs never disappoints! Another great Mercy installment and each story is a standalone. Well worth the time and cost!

Excellent addition to the series. Highly recommended!

Ended too soon. Can't wait for a new Mercy book. They never disappoint and they always end too soon and the wait for the next one seems too far away. Same thing just happened with this latest. Loved it. Heading back to page one. You never know with magical books I may have missed something important. Thanks Ms. Briggs for another wonderful tale about our favorite coyote and her wolf.

Loved. I loved this series!!

Lovely romp of a book. Okay this book brought back the laughter to mercyverse. The last book was harsh but this one while action packed had laughs to spare, or is it brownies.

Absolute magnificence!. I've been a huge fan of Patricia Briggs' work since 2008 and have been reading her books daily ever since. She's never let me down! This book is no exception! Always a 5 star review no matter which book you pick up and a must have in every library, digital or otherwise!

Another Homerun. Her stories get better with every book, which is such a rarity in long series.

Another Werewolf "Tail" that keeps you wagging.. Patricia Briggs has yet to disappoint. From the very first book in this series that I accidentally stumbled across, I was caught in a land of fae, vampires, witches and werewolves. I haven't looked back! Getting to the last chapter is like leaving an old friend, sad but happy you had the time to spend together. I truly hope this series never ends as following Mercy and her merry band of magical friends makes me feel safe and part of a secret club. Don't disappoint Ms. Briggs....I would hate to have to call a favour from the fae. 😉

A Poor Student. Hey (to everyone who happen to read the first review when the book isn't out yet 😂), I'm sure the book will be great and I will giggle and scream like crazy at each page. But why??? 😫 Why the price?? 18.99?? Do you want me to suffer even more in the expectation of the publication of the pocket format of Fire Touched? 😭 The ebook format is more expensive than the pocket format of 9.99$ It was okay for the past two book of 13.99$, but how can I buy my school books, foods, the rent... 😱😱😱 Anyways, Patricia Briggs, you are great and I will follow until the end. But how much you hurt my wallet... 😅❤️

Amazing. I need more lol can't wait for the next addition

Give me more please. Loved it. People either love Patricia Briggs writing or not. I don’t think there is any in between but I will say if someone does not enjoy Mercy Thompson and these stories, they are sadly boring. What a great read! Exciting and twisty and just fun. Safe for almost all ages…(there’s some romantic stuff but nothing too saucy for the kids… this is g rated, fam) bravo and thank you for this book. I want more!

Action, excitement and humour. After reading some of the reviews that called this book "slow" and "a filler" I was hesitant as to how I would find the story but I should have known better; the book was great! I did not find a dull moment in this story, from battling trolls and Fae, to managing a "kid" who starts fires in his sleep; the storyline has action, depth and fun (nudge, nudge). Briggs continues to add depth to the world she is creating, weaving a universe of characters that you feel more and more attached to as the series progresses. You feel their hopes, fears, losses and triumphs and you want to continue with them on their life's journey to see how everything turns out.. This book gives us much more insight into the Fae and Pack politics; it also ties up some ends, leaving the way clear for new story lines in the next books. It will be interesting to see where the author takes us in the future.

Ha!. Patty might be getting a little big for her britches. The series is great, as an book I would expect the books to stay around $5-6 as there is less cost to make, no paper, shipping, overhead etc and as for this ridiculous $20 cost as a "hard cover", it's a freaking e-book and it's only 300 pages long. No such thing as a hard cover. I won't be buying any more of her books if this is the end result. Come back to earth.
