Malevolent Book Summary

From New York Times bestselling author Jana DeLeon, the first in a new thriller series.

Everyone wondered about Shaye Archer’s past. Including Shaye.

Share Archer’s life effectively began the night police found her in an alley, beaten and abused and with no memory of the previous fifteen years, not even her name. Nine years later, she’s a licensed private investigator, with a single goal—to get answers for her clients when there aren’t supposed to be any.

And maybe someday, answers for herself.

Emma Frederick thought her nightmare was over when she killed her abusive husband, but someone is stalking her and tormenting her with mementos from her past. With no evidence to support her claims, the police dismiss her claims as post-traumatic stress, but Shaye is convinced that someone is deliberately terrorizing Emma…playing a cat and mouse game with only one goal in mind.

To kill Emma.

I used to be a reader back in HS and I really wanted to get back into and somehow stumbled upon this book. It was a page turner from beginning to end. I found myself reading until 2 AM. I can't wait to read the sequels. Everything was so descriptive, I felt like I was watching a movie in my mind. I loved the twist at the end. But I did have some questions. Patty sounded way too education to be someone whose been chained up all of her life. There could have been more development on her. But this was a good book and I have recommended to several friends already.

A well thought out masterpiece of crime thriller reading material. Keeps you spellbound and looking back over your shoulder for the bad guy. A much anticipated hot popcorn experience and sleepless nights staying up late to finish this one so I could continue with the next book in the series. Laters. KSW

I never write reviews, but this book was awesome! I absolutely loved the writing style! Couldn't put it down and I can guarantee anyone who starts wouldn't be able to either. The author makes you want to know who it is and once you find out it is pretty horrific. Recommend!
  • Twisted ending!
