Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Book Summary

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Go beyond the film with a novelization featuring new scenes and expanded material.
As the shadows of the Empire loom ever larger across the galaxy, so do deeply troubling rumors. The Rebellion has learned of a sinister Imperial plot to bring entire worlds to their knees. Deep in Empire-dominated space, a machine of unimaginable destructive power is nearing completion. A weapon too terrifying to contemplate . . . and a threat that may be too great to overcome.
If the worlds at the Empire’s mercy stand any chance, it lies with an unlikely band of allies: Jyn Erso, a resourceful young woman seeking vengeance; Cassian Andor, a war-weary rebel commander; Bodhi Rook, a defector from the Empire’s military; Chirrut Îmwe, a blind holy man and his crack-shot companion, Baze Malbus; and K-2SO, a deadly Imperial droid turned against its former masters. In their hands rests the new hope that could turn the tide toward a crucial Rebellion victory—if only they can capture the plans to the Empire’s new weapon.
But even as they race toward their dangerous goal, the specter of their ultimate enemy—a monstrous world unto itself—darkens the skies. Waiting to herald the Empire’s brutal reign with a burst of annihilation worthy of its dreaded name: Death Star.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Alexander Freed Reviews

  • Rogue one:a star war story

I nominee this book so I can win to get this book
  • It's a long and detailed book.....

If you liked the movie I recommend this book kids be warned they will not stop saying Jyn's name over and over. If you hated that aspect of the movie then you will hate it here the characters are forgettable. Their deaths don't bring out any emotion from the reader In the end you will easily forget some of the characters even existed
  • The movie was good; the book is great!

I can't believe the author of Battlefront: Twilight Company, a book I found frustrating at best, wrote this book. After reading this, I can't wait to revisit the film!
  • Read instead of watch

After hearing from friends and family the movie failed to make them care fully about the characters, I felt perhaps the book would do them justice because you are allowed to get into their heads instead of being at the mercy of stony acting and poor directing. So I cashed in the movie ticket price for a digital copy of the book instead. The book definitely delivers! I connected to the characters even if they didn't have time to connect with each other during the fast paced scramble to stop the Death Star and made the ending all the more bitter sweet. I recommend the book over the movie 100% 4/5 because the writing was pleasantly readable but not smooth enough to keep me in total suspense but definitely solid. JN-093 is the best stormtrooper and deserves all the medals.

A really entertaining interpretation of the movie. The novel reads like a sequel of Catalyst. If you liked the movie, read the book
