Gunmetal Gray Book Summary

THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!

Mark Greaney, the #1 New York Times bestselling coauthor of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan novels, delivers another breakneck thriller following the world’s deadliest assassin—the Gray Man…

After five years on the run Court Gentry is back on the inside at the CIA. But his first mission makes him wish he had stayed on the outs when a pair of Chinese agents try to take him down in Hong Kong. Normally the Chinese prefer to stay eyes-only on foreign agents. So why are they on such high alert?

Court’s high stakes hunt for answers takes him across Southeast Asia and leads
to his old friend, Donald Fitzroy, who is being held hostage by the Chinese. Fitzroy was contracted to find Fan Jiang, a former member of an ultra-secret computer warfare unit responsible for testing China’s own security systems. And it seems Fan may have been too good at his job—because China wants him dead.

The first two kill teams Fitzroy sent to find Fan have disappeared and the Chinese have decided to “supervise” the next operation. What they don't know is that Gentry’s mission is to find Fan first and get whatever intel he has to the US.

After that, all he has to do is get out alive...

I thought it was rather too long in the tooth in describing things ad nauseam. And Court was given a malaria shot? Seriously? There is no such thing as an anti-malaria shot or maybe giving him a malaria shot was serious. Pretty stupid mistake for such an accomplished author. I've read better from Greaney. This tendency to be like Stephen King and produce something to keep the dollars flowing isn't worth it. I want at least half my money back for wasted reading time. You would think these well to do authors would employ better educated editors instead of sycophants.

I am so happy to have discovered Mark Greaney and the Gray Man series. This is great reading, every one of them. Greaney has joined my list of favorite authors. This one had a great plot. And I like that each book is long. In iPhone they are usually 1900 pages. Great value for the price. Please keep them coming!

This seemed like the longest novel in the series so far. Very enjoyable book and worth the full purchase price. In this genre I like this author better than all the others right now. His storytelling skills continue to improve and you can tell he does good research. The tone of the relationship between the Gray man and his main employer is perfect. Uncle Sam can be a mean condescending bastard!

Doesn't get more exciting than this thriller. You actually move to edge of your seat, holding breath. Great scenarios, new stories, huge twists. This book has it all. Mitch Rapp, Scot Hrovath and Brad Logan all rolled into one. The Gray Man.
