Could’ve been better!. I totally love CC’s shadow hunter stories, but I felt that this book was just so, how do I say it, blah! At times I felt like the main character’s infatuation with each other was emphasized too much. It made it seem like lust rather than love. It was very hard to keep interest.. This series is falling short from how well she can write and that’s saying a lot because I loved her last shadow hunter series! I’m starting to think twice about even starting the 3rd book..

Amaze read. I waited almost a year since reading the first book, for this one to come out. This was truly worth the wait! Clare does it again with another spell bounding, page turner! Her writing is so immaculate, each scene feels as if it is forming right in front of me. The ending was so devastatingly good 😩😩😩. I have no idea how I'm going to have the patience to wait for the third book!!!!!

Loved it!. So good! But make sure you have book 3 ready once you finish this one.

Very good. It was a very good book, but there was a sort of slow chunk in the middle that took me a while to get through.

Lord of Shadows. I finished lady midnight the day it came out and have re read it several times waiting for this book to come out. I can say as a true Cassandra Clare fan that all of her works are amazing. Whether they were done by herself (the mortal instruments or infernal devices series) or done in a collaboration (such as the magisterium series she is working on with Holly Black)they are all wonderful. I cannot wait for this book to add to her list masterpieces! 😍😁

Amazing page turner. This book is amazing. I couldn't put it down and finished it in two days. As with all of her other books, despite the fact that she uses a lot of common supernatural elements, she's created a totally unique and enthralling world unlike any other. Maybe it's because this book is so new, but I've read and reread all of the Mortal Instruments books and so far I would say that the Dark Artifices are as good if not better, which surprised me. I also like that it explores the world of Faerie and focuses on the Fae which were definitely the least explored race in the Mortal Instruments. It did end on a sad note which I'm still upset about... If I had to give a criticism I would say that it's so hard to put down that it can totally distract you from the rest of your life, which actually may or may not be a good thing person to person.

Can't wait!!. I finished Lady Midnight on Sunday. I literally felt sad after it was over. I was sad today too. The characters really draw you into their story. I wanted Emma and Julian to be together sooooo bad. When I looked online today and found out that Lord of Shadows comes out next week...I was literally so relieved and excited that the journey continues. I can't wait to keep reading on their love story.

Half a story. Save your money for a full book.. For the cost of this book you’re going to get half a story. This ends in a cliff hanger.

Eh. The first book itself wasn’t that great, and I didn’t expect this one to be any better. I kept an open mind, but it was hard not to compare it to the previous series Cassandra Clare wrote.

Just a bunch of babysitting and rubbish. I just loved the mortal instruments, and the infernal devices, all brilliant. However I had to force myself to read this book and lady midnight. I feel like it was just a smash of all the characters.... and to much children and everyone did nothing but babysit.

First book. GREAT!!!!!!

Happy to read of characters, but disjointed.. After an excellent first book in the series, this was disappointing. Disjointed at times, a bit halting, and overly preachy. I too want all young people to see and recognize the danger of racism, homophobia, transphobia, and hatred, but these themes were not so much weaved into the story as they were smashed in. I loved the continuation of the characters and look forward to reading more of each person's story. I do hope the next book will flow easily and without trying so hard to make each point.

Amazing. This book is amazing from its happy laughs to its desperate sobs. The writing really touches your heart in so many ways and I really recommend reading it.

Clare knows just where to leave ya--always wanting more. Wow! Just ... wow. Powerful, poignant, thrilling, sad, desperation, hatred, obsession, betrayal, consuming, touching, evolving .... surprising. Lord of Shadows is all of that and more. Do yourself a favor: don't read at bedtime to unwind, especially not on a school or work night, pr to kill a little bit of time between activities. You won't sleep! At all! You'll be in the same spot until the sun cones up or you're kicked out. Cassandra Clare knows how to garner the readers attention for a full 701 pages and then some. She's a master at her craft, intricately interweaving an elaborate tapestry of characters in a variety of complex patterns to form one giant tale in the making. Expect action, suspense, a bit of romance, brilliant relationships and friendships, diversity, complex situations that require the special finesse Clare excels in producing. But, know there's going to be heartache, tried loyalties, war, beautiful love, tragedy, crazy plots and backstories, loss, and unusual and tested alliances. Just don't ever expect a clear cut HEA, especially only two books into the series. Clare knows just where to leave ya-- always wanting more, anxious for the next volume to see what happens next, how our heroes and antiheroes end up. How long until the next one? How can we wait so long? Bring on the snippets already... Guess we'll just have to make do with the FreeForm TV show Shadowhunters, which has departed so far from the books as to almost be in another dimension but true enough to the TMI characters to keep me streaming weekly. Can still feel Clare's hand helping turn the wheel.

I loved this book!. I have read all of the Shadowhunter books. I have loved all of them. I hated finishing this book because I knew it would be a long time till I got to read the next one. Guess I will just have to re-read the older ones, again!

The best!!!!. She creates such an expansive universe, I just want to invest my time in it! The vocabulary is lovely, too. I find myself learning a new word or two every chapter. Clare is amazing at painting pictures, for beautiful or for heart wrenching

A true literary masterpiece. I truly loved lord of shadows I thought it was excellently written and I was hesitant to read it because I was confused about what she would make a sequel about since lady midnight was so action packed but I have to admit lord of shadows gives lady midnight a run for her money. I would recommend it but for a little older audience.

Lord of shadows review. I loved this book so much! It is better than the first book which says a lot because that one was amazing! Cassandra Clare's writing is fantastic and I love all of her characters (except some new ones in this book)! Warning the ending for this book is intense and it will be hard to wait 2 years for the next book to come out! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Cassandra Clare! That ending though.... 😭

Umm... it's Cassandra Clare. Lady Midnight stands as my favourite novel...ever! Read 126 times total this year (I keep a tally chart on the back. There was a vacation. I was only allowed to take one book. Guess what happened...) and I have no doubt it will get a lot of competition from the next two books of the TDA trilogy. I gotta say, there's only one book out and it's already a tough competitor for Percy Jackson (my childhood growing-up window book) and oh my gods Julian my childddddd and Emma ah I love her I'm changing my name to Carstairs because she. Is. Beautiful. Ok, enough of me rambling and checking on my countdown every five minutes (THERE IS STILL 69 DAYS AND FIVE MINUTES ISN'T GONNA CHANGE THAT) if you haven't read TDA, READ IT RIGHT NOW.
