Simple, honest, credible and informative. As a longtime real estate guy, I thoroughly enjoyed Jason's simple, but informative guidelines to Angel investing. His frank and brutally honest writing style allows the reader to experience the Angel world, rather than digest the words on a page. In all honesty, from his appearances on TV, I have always perceived Jason as a bit of of a d-bag. But, he knows he is, and anyone with that kind of self awareness and successful track record might not make him a golfing buddy, but does make him worthy of directing my investments dollars. The book is definitely a 10x. Joe

Excellent book by @jason. Big fan of Jason Calacanis since he educates the public about the startup world for free through tweets, blogs, and podcasts. Remember that the startups and investors that funded them were a big mystery before the likes of Jason and others started publishing. Best part of Jason is that he talks like the rest of us and isn't caught up in what I imagine a wildly successful investment record could do to an ego.

Buy it twice. Great book with very honest and direct advice. I found the stories helpful and more important credible. If you have any interest in the topic this book is worth your time. Now if I can only get an invite to his real syndicate!

Excellent book!. Excellcent book!

ANGEL, the Book is a true thorough tour de force. In a nutshell, Jason Calacanis, gives you the exactness few business books worth getting into to delivers! The nature of ANGEL, sets forth the context and dives right into metrics, the numbers you need to understand the realities of the economics. You can calculate your own, or note that KPI like jargon is minimal, it is a clear direction of what kind of numbers make sense or in general are the real reality check. Jason Calacanis sets the opportunity for you to look at ways to change the future, yourself with those around you.

I rated 5 because I couldn’t 7. I had a previous record of reading a book in a week. This one took me 2 days.

Red Pill all the way !!. Jason’s book is one of the most truthful books I’ve ever read. If you watch his podcast “This Week in Startups” you will appreciate that this book is written in exactly the same format and lingo as his podcast. I can honestly say that Jason inspired me to look more into entrepreneurship and also led me to my first angel investment. I promise he will be the first person I email to give uncle JCal a piece of the pie when I need some funding. Can wait to read any future books !!! Keep up the great work !!

5.0 out of 5 starsAngel is a must read book for founders -- not just future angel investors!. I listened to Angel via audio book because I'm a HUGE fan of Jason's podcast. I had thought it would be interesting to learn how new angel investors can become sophisticated startup investors with Jason's coaching. What I had expected was how helpful the book was to me as a founder and CEO! With in the next 6 months, I'm raising our Series A from my company - PartySlate. The advice Jason gives to angel investors really helped me understand some of the important points to cover in my pitch. (for example, answering the "why now" question) I am confident that every founder raising money will get some learnings and insights from this book. I strongly recommend reading this (or better yet listening to the book) if you are an angel investor or a founder.

I highlighted so many things... it's kind of embarrassing. Thanks for writing this book Jason. After reading countless blog articles, watching numerous interviews, and listening to too many podcasts on angel investing, I mistakingly assumed I knew all there was to know. I was wrong. I highlighted an embarrassing amount of items and you most likely made the difference between me being a 1x-er and a 10x-er.

As an Encore entrepreneur, I learned more about what I needed to focus on in my own SaaS startup in the four hours it took to read this book ( like by answering Jason's 4 questions, investor updates, etc.) than I have from all the VC blogs & podcasts combined. Jason writes about the things an early stage founder should know. If you are a Founder, read this book and get the road map to get you & your company focused on the right things & then- "do.the.work."

Learn about the angel investing trade. I gave this book 5 stars only because it doesn’t allow me to give it 6. Incredible book that teaches you about the angel investing craft. Buy it and read it today!

Great book to learn how to start angel investing. I’ve been in the startup world for 10 years, full-time angel investing for the last two and I learned a lot from this book. Jason makes it very clear that investing isn’t for everyone but if you want to try, start small, learn and build from there. Investing in startups is a contact sport and you need to basically do it full-time, along with a handful of investments to get started and even then, will probably lose money. If you’re looking for a general self-help book, this isn’t it. Jason writes in a conversational way that makes it feel like he’s talking to you, walking you through the steps and coaching you along the way. I’m going to start implementing what I learned right away and fix the mistakes I’ve been making to get better!

Exceptional good read...... This really was an incredibly easy and educational book to read for those of us who have already or are thinking of dipping our toes into the Angel market!

From first impression to making a long lasting impression.. When I first stumbled across Jason's podcast, I thought "what an arrogant, self opinionated dick...that's simply come good, through a couple of lucky leads". How so very wrong, was I? After listening to dozens of episodes whilst motoring across the UK road network, I now appreciate just how he's become the absolute go-to guy for other aspiring founders and potential investors. This book highlights Jason's very own colourful diction in a non jargon, reassuringly honest and easily digestible way. Enjoy....
