THE NEW CHILLING, PROPULSIVE NOVEL FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLING BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.

If you can’t trust yourself, who can you trust?

Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods. It was on the winding rural road, in the middle of a downpour, and a woman was sitting inside—the woman who was killed. She’s been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It’s a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm, and she probably would have been hurt herself if she’d stopped. Not only that, her husband would be furious if he knew she’d broken her promise not to take that shortcut home.

But since then, she’s been forgetting every little thing. Where she left the car; if she took her pills; even the alarm code.

The only thing she can’t forget is that woman, the woman she might have saved, and the terrible nagging guilt.

And the silent calls she’s receiving, or the feeling that someone’s watching her…

The Breakdown. Very enjoyable!

The breakdown. I really wanted to like this book, but the French students conveniently giving her the phone was lame.

A decent twist.. B.A. Paris’s ‘The Breakdown’ is a well made, psychological mystery. The pacing is great and I never found myself thinking it was going too fast or too slow. The characters are well crafted, and I personally got attached to each one. Cass, the feminine protagonist, is a very relatable character. I felt almost everything she felt throughout the book. The twist at the ending of the book makes a lot of sense so, unless you’re observant like myself, you won’t see it coming. However, the ending is still satisfying even if you figured out who’s the killer beforehand. Overall, I recommend this book. Just put some sad music on, such as ‘For the Damaged Coda’ or ‘Moonlight Sonata’ to really put you in the mood.

Predictable. I’m not great at predicting endings but I had this figured out very early. Huge waste of time.

Couldnt stop reading!. Made me stay up at night! A great ending!

Luv'd. I was lucky to receive this book as my 2nd early read & review for St. Martin Press. Luv'd this book. I liked even better than BA Paris' debut, Behind Closed Doors which was super good. After Cass takes a shortcut home thru the woods on a dark & stormy night, strange things begin to occur & paranoia sets in. How can you make your loving husband believe U. How can U trust yourself when everything U know is wrong. Your world is crumbling around U. Medication is knocking U out. Will this ever end? Released 7/18/17. Gotta read! @BAParksauthor #thebreakdown

The Breakdown. This book kept you guessing the whole way through! I couldn't put it down!

Totally predictable. Big disappointment- her previous book was so much better.

Amazing Author!. Paris nailed it again with another mind blowing novel. Such an amazing author that never makes you want to put the book down. So glad I found Paris because she is masterpiece!

Sort of Expected. Love this author, don’t get me wrong this book was good, but compared to her other book “Behind Closed Doors,” that one was way better.

Thumbs Up!. Another page turner by B.A. Paris! I love the way this author gets you involved with the characters, and her fast-paced writing style. Great ending. Nevreader

Slow and predictable. I really wanted to like this book but storyline was very predictable and pace just too slow. Resolution at end was way too rushed- this book was a let down for me.

Not worth while. Soooo slow and predictable

Must read!. It had a great plot twist and was moderately suspenseful. If you are looking for a different twist story from a thriller book then you should definitely read this one!

So good. Loved

Good yet predictable. Parts of this book seemed very obvious to me, but the idea of it is just so creepy and intriguing that it pulled me in.

The Break Down. Outstanding book!! I finished in one sitting but admit I had to read ahead to the last 30 pages because I could not stand the suspense! It was such a good book-- I wrote my first book review after reading Behind Closed Doors, and often think of that scary scenario. This was also suspenseful and thrilling. Greed and feelings of entitlement cause all kinds of suffering and emotional turmoil! The moral of this story seems to be "don't tell anyone" about your finances and inheritances!!

Very disappointing. Awful. Behind Closed Doors was excellent. This was maddeningly slow. Agonizing how long it took to find out why she was so tormented. I almost gave up. Really lame ending.

Tedious. Tedious. That is all.

Did not live up to my exepctations. The Breakdown is B.A. Paris's follow up to her amazing debut novel, Behind Closed Doors, which is one of my favorite thrillers. With Behind Closed Doors being such a great read, I went into The Breakdown with high expectations that I' sad to say weren't met. Cass tended to get on my nerves more than anything and I had no desire to keep reading. I actually didn't touch my Kindle for 3 days, which is extremely unusual for me. I still plan on reading B.A. Paris's next book with hopes that I enjoy it more than The Breakdown.  I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Breakdown. This was really good. Towards the end it was a little predictable it overall i really enjoyed it!

The Break Down. What a waste of money! Very boring, extremely irritating to say the least, you actually want to slap the woman for being so stupid. I cannot believe this Author is considered “good”. Repeats the action over and over and over again and again. Definitely Not a Fan !!

The ending was kinda silly. Hurt the book’s rating...

Addicting!. Great read!

Good book. Good book

Big disappointment!. I loved her first book so I was excited to read this one! The premise is ridiculous. The story drags on and on well after I figured out where it was going. It is just silly. The story wraps up without a final confrontation. Almost wonder if this was an earlier book she wrote that wasn’t published because it is stinker and then resurrected after the success of the first one. Hope this author isn’t a one hit wonder because I enjoyed her first novel so much.

Disappointed. It was a very monotonous read. It took me almost 8 months to complete, in contrast to her previous book “Behind closed doors” which I read in almost 2 days. I felt that it was very predictable and repetitive. I simply only finished it hoping that the story would become more exciting but it failed to do so which caused me to skip through pages to find out what happened which was the idea I had after reading only a few chapters. I really hope she releases another great read and if you haven’t read her previous book, please order it now! It was so great that I read it a second time.

Page Turner!. Takes you on an emotional ride. Cass's mother had early onset dementia. So when she starts forgetting things she believes that she is destined to suffer the same fate. Or is she? B.A. Paris will take you on such an emotional journey with Cass that you won't be able to put it down. Just when you think you've figured things out she throws something at you that makes you doubt yourself. There is always another surprise around the corner and you won't believe how it ends.

Great read. Excellent novel. Kept me up all night reading! Definitely recommend!

Not like her first book. Behind closed doors was a page turner and I couldn’t put it down. This book was much slower. I was a little surprised in the end but predicted half of the outcome. I just didn’t like how long it took to get to the surprise ending. There wasn’t enough thrill in between the beginning and the end.

Not Sure About The Breakdown. This book was good...after reading the first 400 pages. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop. There was too much pretense for too long. When things started coming together clearly, it seemed rushed. Everything fell into place too smoothly; no more mystery. The text messages were too perfect, boring, no suspense. I just wanted to get through them to the good stuff. Behind Closed Doors was far better crafted as a thriller.

Top 5 Favorite Reads. I love books by B.A. Paris because they are not easy to figure out. I can’t ever guess where they’re going to end up and I’m always surprised and sad when I finish the book. Definitely recommend this!

Very Good Read. I read BA Paris' other book, Behind Closed Doors, so when I saw that the author wrote another one I had to read it. It did not disappoint. A real page-turner. I didn't figure what was actually going on until it was on top of me. I usually don't. But I did like how Cass resolved the whole thing. I don't want to give anything away but read this book. You'll be glad you did!

Riveting. Was hooked right away!

Booooring. It started out interesting and then became dreadfully boring and predictable. I skimmed several chapters just so I could see how it ended.

Only 42 pages downloaded 😩. Can’t read past page 42

The Beakdown. Not as look as her first book, found it hard to read. Made me think of the old movie Gaslight.

Middle was dragging. Still kept me interested but at times to felt like a drag to read through.

The Breakdown. Excellent story I could not stop reading. Kept me guessing until the end. Love love love
