I can’t put down this series. Red Rising has re-inspired a love of reading in me.

Iron Gold. The first book of a follow up trilogy bears many burdens - carry the beloved story arc of the first set, and set up the plot and characters for the rest of the story. On my first read I didn’t appreciate the cadence of this book, but on the second read it all clicked together and fulfilled what I wanted to see: more depth, more layering, and more nuance on a familiar set of characters and relationships. Brown’s characters are mature, flawed, and human on every level. Loved this book!

5 stars. My favorite book series.

Excellent read. Ever since starting Red Rising I really haven’t been able to stop reading these. I feel the goods, and feel anger when other things happen. Haven’t read many things that make me actually feel emotions quite like this series. Well, onto the next!

Not his best.. I’m a huge fan of Brown, but this installment was much less exciting than Red Rising and Golden Son. It would seem that Low Colors have less fun. Ephraim’s story arc is off to a really underwhelming start, Lysander isn’t much better, and Lyria was sort of neglected.

Great. I read the first three and wasn’t sure about this. I could not put it down. Characters were well done. I just placed the order for next book in series (spoiler there is another one after this).

Book 4. It made me so sad that Darrow lost himself. I just can’t

Game of Thrones + Star Wars = 🤯. I’m not a reader. I don’t read. That all changed with the Red Rising Saga. I read the entire first trilogy in 3 weeks and just couldn’t stop. The breakneck pace, non-stop action, mature themes, characters and story, world building, political intrigue, brutal battles. I mean the list goes on and on. This book series has become my favorite of all time. I’m about 25% of the way through Iron Gold and loving it. Pierce Brown has cultivated such an incredible world with these books. So what are you waiting for ya bloodydamn pixie?! HAIL REPEAR!

Iron Gold. Brown has become my favorite writer. I am 63 and marvel at the philosophical wisdom that often pops out of no where. His pronouncements on war and especially love seem to come from a world weary sage. I have to keep reminding myself he is a young man. I so enjoy his vocabulary and the sculpting of the worlds he builds. He simply is a brilliant writer and I will read everything he writes.

Good book. Good book

Kept me hooked. Not sure about this not exciting talk, I read books to enjoy my time and I enjoyed my time. At the end I was immediately butthurt I have to wait until “September” for book 5.

Best one yet. Most fourth books after a conclusive trilogy feel like the publisher wanting more than the author wants to write. Not here, total change of pace and style on this one. Best of all the books so far. I am very excited to get into dark age right after I finish up this review.

Here we go again…. Pierce Brown’s return to the Red Rising saga isn’t necessarily flawless, but his improvement as a writer is remarkable. The tension he develops is still there, surprisingly stronger than his earlier installments. We return to his world filled with new captivating and flawed characters, as well as many of our old heroes who must now build over the rubble that they created. The political themes tackled in the story may bore some, but their similarity with real world issues will have you wondering if there really is a path where mankind does not destroy itself? As a stand alone it may struggle, but as the next book in an already incredible series, can you really afford to look away? If you’ve read the original trilogy, you won’t be disappointed.

Great Series. The only bad part about this book is that it’s so good, you’ll read it in 3 days or less then have to wait a year, to read the next title in this wonderful series

Worth it. I read the first trilogy and the expectation was that this would be a mediocre book with its moments powered more by nostalgia than any merit of its own. Wrong. The book is mesmerizing in its handle of drama, the maturity of character, insights, and the sweeping panorama of it’s worlds and battlefields. I only dread the potential disaster of a movie adaption.

I like the way he writes ☺️. Once again, Pierce Brown gifted me with several hours of escapism and entertainment; I’m truly grateful. The non-stop thrills made the book very difficult to put down. I just hope that I won’t regret not stopping with Morning Star’s ´happy ending’....With this 4th instalment, it’s easy to see that destroying something is much easier than building something... and, unfortunately, the growing pains appear to be getting more painful by the page. 😢

It’s Pierce Brown. I could give some long hauled review of how okay the book was differentiating itself from the series going from one point of view to four, but at the end of the day this is one of the best book series EVER WRITTEN and we should all be thankful that we have an author that cares about us in such a way that he brings Science/Sci-Fi together in such a beautifully written symphony.
