Boring. I couldn’t get through 100 pages. There was way TOO MANY long descriptions going on. It was so hard to tell if a scene change and who was who. I felt like the characters had no personality. It was slow as well. Loved the movie though 😊

The best!!. Neil Gaiman never disappoints!!!

A very fine read. I don’t know where to begin, so I won’t except to say that this really is a fine, fine book. Enjoy!

a favorite. love it

Fairytale in the Truest Sense. Lyrical language covers all the aspects you expect in a fairytale, but with the twists and turnings of an interesting and fun read. A satisfying story that leaves nothing dangling loose at the end.

No illustrations. This is an illustrated novel, but the version sold here is the text only. Not worth it...

Not what I expected. Stardust is one of my favorite movies and I was thrilled to find out it was based on a book. the book is quite different however: this is the first time I've ever liked the movie more than the book. I will admit a bias since I saw the movie first, but the characters in the movie were much more intricate and engaging. The movie also makes vast improvements on a slow storyline that lacks the details that allow the reader to immerse in the world that a fantasy novel should create. If you haven't seen the movie, find a used copy of this book, but don't pay the iBooks price to download it.

A gripping adventure from start to finish. Neil Gaiman’s Stardust is a must read for anyone who is a fan of fantasy or adventure. READ IT

A fun, fanciful read.. Loved it, it's a perfect little story.

Stardust. Very good. Well written and very descriptive.

Critically acclaimed for a reason. The prose is almost florid, the settings sketched out in a way that rightly assumes the reader has familiarity with standard fantasy fares and tropes; but the plot, with its beats only predictable enough to make a reader feel clever, is satisfying enough to keep the pages turning all the way to its fulfilling conclusion. I do, however, feel as if there is a bit of that Gaiman sexism here; there is a female protagonist’s companion and object of affection, but she exercises nearly no agency of her own and is treated much as a prize or possession while justifying it all as a rescue.

Missing the last chapter. First, while the very 1st run of Stardust was illustrated, later editions were not. The illustrations by Charles Vess are not necessary to the story, and the tale is still a wonderful fairy tale without them. However, THIS BOOK IS MISSING THE LAST CHAPTER. I have a hardcopy of Stardust in front of me, and there's a final, bittersweet chapter that wraps up the tale of Tristan and Yvaine which is not in this version. The story suffers without it. Save your money and buy the hardcopy, folks.

Bought the book, read most of it on iBooks. I've always wanted a hardbound copy of this book but to no avail, like it's a rare piece already. So, I had no choice but to buy the paperback copy. I've read a few chapters but I just had a hard time reading it. It didn't help that the story wasn't written in modern-time English, so I bought the iBooks version. I have to say, I find the price steep for a digital copy as a paperback copy cost just about the same but it was easier for my to read the story. :) It's the first book I've ever purchased on iBooks.

Lovely. This book was absolutely charming in every way. The characters and storyline were unique and interesting. The only complaint I have (well not even a complaint, but a comment) is that at parts of the journey that would have built the emotion between Yvain and Tristan he did what every elementary school writing teacher tells us not to do. He told instead of showing. Maybe I like my books a little too flowery, but he sometimes skipped over things I would have loved to read. But over all he writes beautifully and I would highly suggest this book.

Not bad, pleasant light reading. Hmmm….Well, I finished it (that says a lot as I won’t finish a book if I’m not interested) I don’t think I should have watched the movie first. The ending of the book seemed anticlimactic with one of the villains, I thought that was a shame, so I ended the book with a “that’s it?” kind of feeling. However, the characters were well created and I wanted to know what would happen to them in their journey. I also love the basic idea of the story, very very creative. Mr. Gaiman tends to have very creative story ideas, so I was pleased with his unique star fallen idea. All in all, not a bad read, just don’t expect a big grand finale like the movie. :)

One of his best. This is one of his lightest works. It posses all the elements that makes a novel attractive to everyone; mystery, adventure, romance, worthy village, etc. So unassuming, you're surprised that you can't put it down. It is one of his bests, hands down.

good book. Hey I'm in english class and I just finished this book and I'm bored so I decided to write a review. It's actually very good so buy it and read. okay bye
