"THE DIP" is PRICELESS!!!!. It's funny reading this book. I made the obvious unorthodox choice to quit my job at the ultimate peak of my new career! I have been a chef for 15 years and moved took the leap 2 years ago to become a private chef on luxury yachts. It was a very hard struggle, but I made it to the top of my new industry as an elite. Then I realized that it wont improve, it will just stay the same and comfortable. I wasn't happy with just comfortable anymore! I resigned from my job to further pursue my career and establish my own high end catering company servicing my old clients. The journey is long and very hard, but my previous job gave me the chance to pave then entry in, and thats the way I look at my choice as been the best one. I only discovered this book after finishing purple cow for the 2nd time to refresh my thoughts on how to market my new project. After reading this book, I can say with all conviction that I made the correct choice and Seth godin is like an oracle with his words!!!! I use the analogy of "when the investment outweighs the return, it's a bad investment!". But the term "THE DIP" is PRICELESS!!!! Good foresight is have the battle, knowing to quit is the victory. Relevance and rhetoric. This is a great book! It's very short and focuses on a problem many of us face today: knowing when to quit and when to push through. I'm glad I read it. Having said that, I have a hard time with Seth's writing style. (Yes, I'm probably in the minority here...) His message is relevant but the rhetorical style he employs just seems like he's saying the same thing over and over, 15 different ways. It's a little over-the-top for me, but it doesn't detract from the book in any material way. Go read it!

The Dip. An excellent, short book. Easy to get through, and very thought-provoking. I will use what I learned in the dip to make decisions this week.

New definition of quitting. The Dip showed me a new definition of quitting while we understand quitting as failure. Very quick, short book, entertaining. Recommended for salesman especially!

The Dip. As usual, Godin is thought-provoking and challenging conventional wisdom. He's asking an essential question. My only problem is that he's bouncing around as he writes; he left me lost as I tried to apply the ideas to my current situation. I now need to go back and reread an organize the ideas in a logical sequence in order to do anything with it.

Great Book. It really flew by…

Deeply enjoyed Seth’s perspective. Seth’s book is fairly famous. Skye Warren sent out physical copies to her conference attendees in November 2022. I finally read it and learned what all the fuss was about. Because the book is so crisp, it has more potential to go viral. I certainly imagine I’ll recommend it to my friends.

Don’t quit this book!. Read it in one sitting. Won’t sleep tonight. My new favorite book. Seth is a #workstar

Realtor. Great book. Short but effective. Will make you push forward, through 'The Dip'!

Great Nugget of Wisdom. The core piece of information is communicated effectively and has great value. My only gripe with the book is that it feels like it repeated itself to reach its already short length. It could have focused more around concrete examples if it needed to be book length.

The Dip I love this book!. This book came into my life where I was lost and could not understand why I quit jobs, team sports, and relationships so often. This books help wrapped my head around the big reasons WHY! I love the author candor and direct approach in this book. His real life examples also help bring things into a more clear perspective. I can truly say this book changed my life after I read it.

One page would have been sufficient. The only reason it wasn’t one star was because I spent so little time reading the short book. The premise is to identify which efforts in life are worth persevering through some amorphous dip and quit the rest. Hmmm, that solves the obvious part, but you’ll need to learn elsewhere how to identify which are worthwhile more effectively.
