Oogy. Heartwarming story of a sad reality.

Oogy. This book was wonderful in two ways for me, I love dogs and having run through a glass door and left with scars on my face I certainly could relate to Oogy. The author had a real knack for showing love and compassion that brought me to tears on more than one occasion. Anyone who has animals will appreciate and enjoy this book.

This book won't sit there for long!. I'd have to say that this is the best book I've read in a while. The author is truly compassionate about little Oogy. Makes me think about my own dogs and how their stories aren't as interesting. I want to meet this Oogy! A great read that is hard to put down deserves praise and attention, much like Oogy himself.

Timing is everything. Having lost our 8year old fur baby in August 2011, downloading this book was somewhat of a leap of faith. I didn't know if I'd make it through the first chapter, much less the entire book. Many tears were (still are) shed, but I DID finish every page. Mr. Levin wrote an incredibly touching, engaging story that has reminded me even through the heartache of our premature loss, that our 'first child' came into our lives for a reason. She proved many times over that there is such a thing as an unconditional, undying, and unsurpassed human-canine bond. My husband and I both felt it, still feel it everyday, even in her absence! Will we ever find that again? I think so! Actually, I'm pretty sure it will find us!! Thank you, Mr. Levin, for your candor, humor, insight and mostly for Oogy! -Sherryl Kluger Atlanta, GA

A Great Read For Animal Lovers.... Although I feel this is a great and wonderful story about life and second chances, I feel the book didn't "flow" well. The stories had no order and seemed to jump around from random people, back to the family, and then finally back to the dog. Seeing as it was the authors first book and his occupational status is not in writing, I'll give him a break and two thumbs up! The most touching part of this book was when the author realized why so many people seemed to be touched by Oogy. How each person saw a piece of themselves in this dog who was horrifically brutalized and yet he still had a wonderful attitude and showed nothing but compassion for the world that almost took his life. That one day when each of us needed a second chance... We may recall Oogy. This is a must read for all animal lovers and people who need another view of life, especially when life gets hard :)

Great dog owner. Loved the story. Shows the true spirit of dogs not the breeds, just like people. Kudos to the family for loving oogy and giving him such a loving home! Note to readers, author is not a very good writer in some areas of the book. But you will not be disappointed. Loved the ending. Glad it wasn't sad.

What a wonderful story!. This story makes me look differently at my dogs!

Loved this book!!. My husband and I adopted a boxer/pit bull mix she was a rescue dog. What a great dog she is. She looks kind of mean but she has the biggest heart ever. I get the stared look a lot. It's like don't judge a book by its cover right? I hate how most pit-bulls get a bad rap. There are good ones out there and I'm proud to say I own one!!!! Anyway this book was a great read. Any dog lover should read this. Oogy sounds like a delight to have around, I just love how well Oogy connects with the twin boys.

Like. I think this is a very heart felt book. I thought it was going to be all about the dog and his life, but the author has expanded it to his whole family. I would recommend this book as a good non fiction book. :)

Sweet easy read. This book is a like a cup of coffee with an old friend. A chance to restore faith in the goodness not always visible in this world. A moment to breath in the blessings in your life and be at peace.

Oogy. What a great story about an amazing dog and the family he chose. I also adopted a pit bull that had been exposed to abuse and neglect, Sir Vladimir was as noble and appreciative as Oogy. How lucky are those that are blessed with furry family members? Blessed indeed!

Heart warming. My dog died and it was really hard but this story makes me think of how lucky I was 2 have her in my life! :p
