Great read. Loved this! Can’t wait to read the next one.

It’s ok .... sorta. But not great. If it’s just a prequel to try and get you to by the rest of the trilogy ( which I guess now includes a fourth un-finished book) couldn’t it have been a lot shorter and left out all the tedious predictable stuff? And maybe the main characters shouldn’t do so much dumb irrational stuff and make bad decisions. And maybe fewer miracles to save the hero’s or maybe fewer miraculous unbelievabe performances by the heroes to save the day, but then turn right around and do something dumb to get themselves in trouble again? It’s an interesting premise for a story, but I probably won’t read anymore of the books, certainly not if I have to pay for them, from the library maybe?

Awesome. Great read I recommend this to everyone, but the editing was off! Still you should read it!!!

Marvelous!. I couldn't put this book down! It was an amazing world with such great storytelling skill! The author displays his own craft of words in this book to carry the reader through an adventure to remember. The magic in this book is wonderful and I would definitely recommend it to others!

Not bad at all!. I commute several hours a day and go through books rather quickly, it's not often I find one that has me clawing at my iPad for more. The characters are believable and relatable, there is enough humor to balance out the seriousness of the main character's situation. All in all an excellent read!

Amazing. This book was endlessly fascinating as Myranda lives only to survive and then finds a greater purpose. As well the enigma that is Leo/Lain. The only thing I did not like about the book was that it ended.

Outstanding!. Wonderful story! It takes a couple pages to get going but just gets better and better. I found myself done with the trilogy in no time at all while wanting more. I first read The Book of Deacon a couple years ago and gave reread it at least a dozen times since. The characters are unique and I can't wait to see them in another story, maybe even another trilogy. I tell all my fantasy loving friends to read this series and each one that has loved it as well. Definitely one of my favorite fantasy books and will be something I read to my kids.

Fascinating. It starts rather slow and boring. Once you learn some of the characters, things begin moving quite rapidly and get more intriguing. By the end of Book One, you don’t want it to stop.

The book of Deacon. Very good book I must say! Very slow starting but it picks up slightly fast like any beginner of a trilogy book. Some spelling errors that doesn't need a dictionary to figure out. At the end of this first book you will notice yourself become oddly attached to the characters in it. HOPE YOU ENJOY!!

Awesome. This book was by far the best read I've had in a while. Ignore the people who rate bad, because there are no nagging errors, but there is a great plot and amazing depth. The only thing is, it may be too awesome for some people to handle.

The Book of Deacon. Very interesting story. I was enjoying reading a lot. Ended at a very bad place. I usually love sequels but this stopped at such a bad place I will not buy the sequel. You could have at least finished the book.

The Book of Deacon. I love this book. i just could not, COULD NOT stop reading it. I really suggest that you read this book. If you love to read and love dragons, magic and evil beings, then you should read this book.

Griping Tale. I found myself compelled to finish this first story. I felt an urgency to follow and see where the tale went in it's journey. Great characters, from irascible and somewhat immoral wizards to very tainted soldiers and politicians. I did find Myranda a little tedious at times. Even while I could agree with her anti war, anti killing attitude, she did become a little holier than thou at times. Overall I found it to be an interesting and good story.

Totally worth it. Loved the story & characters. There's nothing better than adventure & magic!

WOW. When i started reading this i had no idea that i would get so pulled into this that i couldnt stop rteading it. If there isn't more to this story which they didnt finish i am gonna be very sad.. oh wait there it is lol goto buy it NOW Sorry goto go read it laters

Resounding yes!. I truly enjoyed this book and I think you will too!

Exciting and captivating. What an exciting read! It is captivating and makes you want to keep on reading to keep up with the events as they unfold. The sentence structure is unique and refreshing. You are not burdened with long overbearing principles presented in a convoluted fashion. Rather, you read the sentiments and feeling in simple terms, making fiction/fantasy seem real! A must read for any Tolkien or terry brooks reader!

Unexpected hero. Heroine accidentally in the right place at the perfect time, or worst time, every time. Great twists, good plot and character development. Lots of content left for trilogy to work out but doesn't leave you confused. On the whole very enjoyable.

Fascinating Story. While the book has a really good plot, It's a bit slow here and there. Although at times it seems that there isn't a connection between things, some are cleared up as the dots are partially connected in the second half of the book. You do find you care about the heroine, and the characters she encounters are interestingly refreshing. You will find yourself being drawn into the book thoroughly by the last 1/3, and once finished, you will have to read the next book. So, I purchased the other 2 in the trilogy, and starting today will begin the next leg of Myranda's journey.

The Book of Deacon. Did not want to put the book down. For me it was very much like a " perfect recipe". Just the right amount of each ingredient to make a well told story and made me keep wanting to know what happens next. Job well done!

Highly recommended. What a wonderful story. The writer has you enthralled in his world from the very beginning. This book is very unique, unlike so many others of this genre. If you want to get lost in an unparalleled story of fantasy, than this is the book for you! (some grammatical errors but nothing that can't be overlooked) On to book 2!

The Book of Deacon. The story and writing are great. The editing is not. But this is true of all books. Have we lost the use of writing in good form? Simple grammar and use of the proper words would make reading on my device so much more enjoyable. Hope it happens some day. But I really did like this story.

Draws you in. Lallo’s mystical fantasy is convoluted and makes abrupt changes, but he ties up most of the loose ends eventually. And a cliffhanger ending, nooooooo!

Really goods. I have really enjoyed this book. Fantasy, action, and from a girls point of view one who was lost and wondering. My only small critic was it could be a bit long winded, but a very well thought out book. Looking forward to the next. Thank you for something different.

Odd pacing and writing. I like the story in general, but it is a strange book. Editing, pacing, even dialogue are odd. Almost as if the author is talented but young. Dialogue reminds me of a dubbed French anime. Girl wizard protagonist + pet dragon + kind man/fox companion screams anime fantasy hybrid written for teenage girls.

Loved it!. I thought this book was beautifully written. Yes there may have been some things that weren’t perfect but what I really care for is the story line. A few grammatical errors and spelling mistakes aren’t a big deal. It was a wonderful story with creative characters and I cannot wait to continue it!

awesome is an understatemant. absolutely amazing. i simply could not put this one down. the imagery and scenery of this story painted in my mind makes me wish id bought the second book of the trilogy well before i finshed the first. needless to say, this book is a truly satisfying and expertly written piece. sincerest thanks to the author for sharing his work and i greatly look forward to the next!

Stick with space opera. I know you love fantasy and that you hope for this to be a break through, but your editor(s) let you down. I made it half way through and couldn't get past another break in common sense. Stick with your space opera. Your ability to banter and create there is truly enjoyable. Can't wait to see what more you do there. Very rich, fun universe to help your readers explore.

Highly Enjoyable. Excellent story

Easy-reading Fantasy. An enjoyable Sunday Afternoon read. I've read the whole series and thought it was a good read. The characters could have done with a bit more depth and development especially Trigorah. I definitely would (and have) recommend this series to others.

The Book of Deacon. So far so good! The story starts off a little slow, not really hinting at what is to come, the then pace picked up. My only gripe is that the General chasing Myranda isn't given much time in the book, I hope she gets more time in the next one. I had to buy the second book to find out what happens next...

The Book of Deacon Trilogy. I enjoyed the whole of this trilogy, and am content to have paid the small charge for books 2 & 3. Although there are a few editorial errors (such as mis-attributed dialogue), and the dialogue (and therefore some of the characters) can tend to lack depth, these niggles do not ruin what is a very good read. Definite recommendation.

Loved the book’s. A delicious read, I do love a good fantasy novel. I read the 3 book series in a week and a day, could not put it down.

The Book of Deacon. I have just finished reading the first Book of Deacon and instead of chronicling the standard reviewer's statement, "I couldn't put it down", let me rather admit....I deprived myself of sleep to finish this book in one night. Just when I was searching for something different, something unique in the collection of fantasy, horror and sci fi genres, I found this gem of a series. Not since discovering Juliet Marillier, Anne Rice, Tolkien, George Martin or Stephen King, have I felt so engrossed in a story that I was going through the motions by fitting every day life in around a world created by someone with an incredible imagination. I thank the universe for the weekend as I head to the links to download the rest and settle in with a cup of tea for the night. Thank you for the gift of your books. PS The wee dragon is a gorgeous & feisty wee character, she makes me grin with her puppy dog antics, love it!

Book of Deacon. The Book of Deacon is an enjoyable, but predictable read. At times the action moved too quickly, leaving gaps in the development of the narrative. The language could be improved with more attention to grammar, especially the use of..."off of" which is grammatically incorrect. It is simply "off". For example, I took the book 'off' the shelf, not, I took the book "off of" the shelf. The plot is interesting and I am hoping that deeper development of character, especially General Bagu and Trigoran, occurs in books 2 and 3. The Book of Deacon is a good, enjoyable read, albeit, a little simplistic at times.

Wonderful. I have not picked up a book in 8 years since I got my first computer. I'm totally hooked again an it's all because of the book of deacon. If u like fantasy, dragons an magic then u will love this book and even better it's a trilogy so the story does not end so soon. Plus the other two books are under $3 each which is a crime really given the quality of the storyline I'm sure they are worth much more. A must read

Skyrim in book form. I was hooked almost instantly. I struggled to pull myself away from the story and continue my every day activities. I longed to be traipsing through the harsh winter of the north. Many times while reading, I would pull myself away from the screen to exclaim "I love this story, it just keeps getting better and better" (much to the annoyance of my poor boyfriend). I've gone on to purchase the other books in the trilogy. Each one gets faster and faster until your heart is racing with excitement.

Great read. From the very beginning I knew that I was going to enjoy this book. It was captivating and nothing of interest had happened yet. The only real downside was how slow it got towards the end when she was learning and although it was important to go slowly so that we could feel it was hard won, it was still rather laborious to read. Looking forward to reading the rest in this series
