Problems with digital version. 1. The illustrations (which include some text) are not resizable, are very small, and thus cannot be read on an iPhone. 2. The footnotes section (which is an extensive part of the book) is based on the page numbers in the paper book and are not hyperlinked to the pages to which they refer. This makes the footnotes section practically useless. Better buy the paper book.

Beck is a fool. Magic underwear?

Meh. While beck presents his case quite well I have to disagree with what he has to say, if history has told us anything it's that large companies will abuse the power they obtain without proper regulation. Progressivism emerged because laissez-faire capitalism mistreated it's employees and consumers.

To you ignorant haters. All I read in your idiotic reviews is your pathetic excuses for not having the courage to do anything yourselves! You say that us beck followers are the only thing hurting America? Then tell me where this country is headed! And how we are making it worse! And if you still think the same. Awesome!!. Just finished the book this morning and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for more information to what is going on today! Please do not listen to the people who graded it a 1 star due to most of them probably didn't read it anyways! They're just mad that Glenn is finally getting the truth out about what the progressives are doing to this country. Please let me suggest something for those people....If you don't like what this country was founded on and what the constitution gives us, PLEASE LEAVE! Yes I can!!

Common Sense?. Republicans love theories. For example: Tax cuts for the wealthy create jobs. The Bush tax cuts have been in effect for about a decade, taxes are at their lowest levels since the 1950's but this has been the most dismal decade of job creation in our nations history - in defiance of all conservative "common sense". Consumer spending creates jobs, tax breaks create wealth for the wealthy. You want a common sense solution to the mess in Washington? 1. Cut spending everywhere: entitlements, military - everywhere there is a penny to be saved. 2. Pay for it: once you cut spending to the bone, raise taxes until everything is paid for. 3 Reward spending over saving: buy a yacht or a private jet and it's tax deductible, squirrel it away and pay more in taxes. 4. Reform healthcare every 5 years instead of every 50 years: our policies need to keep up with changes in that market segment. 5. End our dependence on oil period: as supply decreases and demand increases it's only going to get worse people. 6. Buy American: reward companies that reward us in return. Tax imports heavily to level the playing field. 7. Change the tax code: make it as progressive as it needs to be until virtually anyone working a 40 hour week is living above poverty. You want to end welfare? Make work pay better than public assistance. See? Anybody can write in theory. Beck is no more qualified to solve our nations problems than I am. For reals!

WOW. Very interesting reading. If even half true.......we are in trouble!

Glenn Beck is a scam artist. He promises riches and wealth to everyone, but it appears that the only one who benefits from his 'help' is likely him. Search "Goldline scam" someday and decide for yourself.

Awesome. I don't always agree with Glen, but this book is well worth the read. Very enraging and enlightening.

Broke: Glenn Beck is your shepherd. Glenn Beck is your shepherd: You shall not think. He leadeth you from the realm of citizenry to vote your selves in to being colonial subjects. Glenn Beck is your shepherd you shall not live as a dignified worker in his vision of a perfect world. Reverend Jerome will never preach to the choir I only do outreach missionary work in the intellectually impoverished world. If you let private interest run roughshod over public resources you will really have something to cry about. Please don't say that I never gave you a heads up after you voted your country in to being a third world nation.

If you haven't read any of his books and actually watched a full episode(s) of his show then you are cheating yourself. Preview this book and you will know that this guy is onto something...

Terrible. As said above crazy and eccentric

Dear K.K.. Last time I checked, our beloved leader had stated that all military operations are finished in Iraq, and since we never actually declared war on Afghanistan, only the Taliban, and since they are done, that war is technically over as well. So, treason has not been committed. All those who were so verbal about being anti-Bush could have been considered treasonous, but when you officially call something off, that card is removed from your hand. Not to mention that every soldier has sworn an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, "both foreign and domestic". Our Constitution is being ignored and attacked, and we as the people who are governed by that great document must defend it, for if we do not, who will? Glenn does such an amazing job of being vocal about what he believes to be true, that you have to have some measure of respect for him in his ability to boldly stand up and defend what he believes. This book is just one more testament to the fact that this country is on the fast track to even bigger problems than what we have now. If someone sees a problem, they need to warn others, and that is what Glenn does in this book. It is amazing, well written, and should be shared with everyone. May God have mercy on our nation, and may Providence prove us wrong, that is is not too late to change the course that our great nation is on.

Very good read. It's difficult, if not impossible, to argue his common sense logic. He does a great job of putting the bigger picture together of the complex web of corruption and greed we find ourselves in. He also leaves you all the references you need to double check his facts on your own.

To know and not to do is not to know.... As is often the case when reading a book that addresses the state of our country, there is plenty for people to disagree with. However, in the case of "Broke", you do so at your own peril, and the future of our country. I read all books critically, and this book was no different. What was striking to me, in this case, was the frequent feelings I had, where I felt as if I were reading my own writing. Perhaps one day I will have the time to read all of the source material Glenn Beck used to write this masterpiece. For the sake of our collective future, please read this book with a willingness to allow it to transform your thinking, and ultimately change the course of history.

Beck 2012. I'm only in my twenties, but this man has taught me more about this nations politics than any other teacher in a formal classroom setting, or google for that matter. He tells it like it is, not political-hug a rainbow-mumbo jumbo. I bet you the same people who rated this one star, are the same people to talked crap about bush 5 years ago. I sincerely hope they read this book. Maybe they'll finally understand what our country was founded on.

Awesome book!. Mr " k k " is just jealous that patriotic Americans are taking back the country! I hope you soak up the next two years because the way obama is bringing down this economy no one is going to want to hear his name again. Oh by the way "king George" was definitely not treated kingly and was railed by the mainstream media aka which I'm sure your VERY familiar with ,msnbc, CNN new york times and so on and so fourth. Anyway great book! It's really what we need to get back on track!

Crazy. The only actual review of this book on this whole list is the one below me. Which helped me in actually not purchasing the electronic book but the paper one. I would suggest this to future buyers. As for the insane radicals below me... I sense that u r threatened by the success of beck n that u have no other option than to curse him n his viewers/readers. Once again, very informative and entertaining!. This was one of the most informative books I have read. Glenn does an amazing job informing us about the past and how we are on the path to repeat it-only worse, if we don't take our Country back. I'm glad to know people are listening and realizing that this path is not where we, as Americans, want to be. Get informed and pay attention. Thanks to this book it makes it a lot easier. With pages and pages of footnotes you can go right to the source if you want to. Thankfully the pettiness and lies by those who are jealous of Glenn don't bother those of us who have common sense and a mind of our own and who actually read the book.

idiocy in print. The bad thing about getting this book in electronic form is that the pages aren't stained with Glenn Beck's tears like the paper version is!

Broke. Couldn't put it down...Beck has his finger on the pulse of America! A "need read" for all concerned citizens. For you "one star reviewers"...Beck fans don't care what you think. Don't waste your time...nobody who's writing a real review can be bothered by your blah, blah, blah....

From reading the excerpt.... This book seems more like a fear campaign then any real insight. his over idealization of the founding fathers and various historical inaccuracies seems to pander to an audience with only vague knowledge of American and world history. Also his apparent lack of understanding of economics and numerous religious rants suggest that this work is completely ideological and offers no real solution to our nation's problems.

Amazing truthful book. For those that speak hate can't be speaking it about this book. This book is filled with nothing but facts and 50 pages of foot notes so that you can research it yourself. If you give this book 1 star and say it's wrong please state facts of where it is wrong. This book is nothing more than facts to wake America up to what is going on. It is a great read, one of the best books I have ever read. Thank you to Glenn Beck for his love of America!

Hi Mr. Beck. I am a 12 year old boy, I have not read your book yet but I am sure I will enjoy it. I have been watching your show for a while now and when I can with my dad. I believe that I might be they only kid that understands 95% of your show. It's hard for me to think that this country not only the world could collapse. Western civilization has been going on since Greece and has been moving west ever since. Greece-Romans-France-English-Germany-us- and then what is the next country to the west, china. I hope this country stays strong but look at the other countries: Greece has riots in the streets, and the english used to own the world. If these countries fell then I guess this one might too. Yes I can.....

Disc Jockey Turned Hypocrite TV Personality. Shock Jock Glenn Beck should be put to the test. Misleading people with his lies and fairytales. This book is nothing but a continuation of how he makes money and ads more fuel to the backyard fire he's been burning for years.

Great book. People who think he makes stuff or goes over board with things...are WRONG! He gives you facts and all of the work that has been done for this book was not only glenn but with a team of experts. So please all you liberals stop saying dumb things that you don't no what your talking about!

You are very , I'm sorry, I mean in he least bit educated in that we (US govt) can't as you say , raise taxes to pay off debts, if we give large breaks for buying American, as these companies are our largest tax payers. We need to and have begun to (this year) correct the "breaks for buying American" theory by giving breaks for American research and development of products which truly creates jobs and raises our exports as other parts of the world try to purchase the new American made products. When we buy American this makes US companies stronger therefore they no longer need said tax breaks to create jobs.

How?. How can a man write 10 books a year on the same subject. Beck is taking full advantage of the current climate and laughing all the way to the bank. Please read Mark Levin "Liberty and Tyranny" This book is all you need to know.

An Outstanding Analysis. Glenn Beck has written a clear, concise and coherent summary of what has gone wrong in America and the way forward. It should be required reading and study in all colleges and universities. Thanks to the progressives and extreme liberal left, we have strayed dangerously far from the principles of our Founding Fathers and the values that have made the American experiment the envy of the world. It is destroying our country and the anarchists are pleased. It's way past time to re-embrace the values of our past, and stand up to the forces of evil. People are waking up and it's not too late. A great book that makes one think - I highly recommend it.

Anyone can just write a review. Seriously you don't have to buy the book just to write a review. So people who have agendas and to much time on their hands can just come along and trash any book they don't agree with. I like a lot of what Mr. Beck says and do my best not to be biased when I rate his stuff and the same goes for authors whom I disagree with 95% of the time. The point is I buy the book read it and form an opinion based off the material not like some people who just negatively rate a book based on whom they may or may not like.

Just started reading.... All I can add is I've met Glenn and he was as nice to me, personally, as he could have been. I'm about 40 pages into the book and it has already been worth the money.

Great job!. And to think all of these one star reviews came from people who didn't even read the book... Yet it's the democrats that say republicans are "being mean" to them. All Glenn Beck is doing is putting together the pure facts about what is going on in this country. Isn't it interesting how the liberals take such offense to everyone seeing what they're doing behind our backs?

What kind of people would want tyranny?. It is an amazing situation when Americans are no longer willing to stand up for all that we created in his country over the last 200 years. Glen, you are an inspiration and a patriot. We need to start deciding who is a patriot and who the enemies within are? If we can identify why they hate the country and the patriots, maybe we can find a way to communicate better with them. This book is reality and needs to help us outline our own futures.

He's richer than you. Haha.. Beck offer facts in an entertaining way and makes a buck doing it. Oh gee, what a scam. Most people had no clue who Adam Smith was until they picked up a Beck book. It is a good thing they know now. Anyway people obtain the facts is a good way. Hate him for being Mormon. Hate him for being opinionated. Don't however hate him for taking the facts, packaging them in a neat way, making a very valid point and a dollar along the way. People buy 200$ jeans that take pennies to make. They get worn out and are useless. Knowledge is priceless.

Excellent wake up message. This is an excellent book filled with many points of history and facts. You can't argue with 50 pages of footnotes. I haven't heard anyone dispute the facts of the book. Dissenters merely spout hate speech and engage in name calling. If you don't like Beck, please tell me specifically where he is wrong. Crickets....

truth hurts. you can tell that Glenn is right about all the things in this book. these cookie leftists who can't admit to the truth about their failed ideology would not be pitching a fit like they are if they didn't actually believe what Glenn is saying. lol at the 1 stars that have their head so far up there posters they can't see daylight aka truth.

Read your history. Why do we have to constantly make this a 'Republican versus Democrat' issue. Have you read the book? There's enough blame to go around! Beck blames the last Bush almost as much as Obama. If you actually read the book you'll see that Beck picks no party favorites...it's ACTIONS that he is reporting on and evaluating. Here are some suggestions that have no party affliliation: Read the Constitution Read History Study basic economics Then read "Broke" Then report back.
