Yes, a section is missing. As others mention, it's the disguising of E23, which is one of the real gems in a brilliant book. I've stopped reading and am off to find another edition.

Section missing in this edition. This is a great book, but the iTunes version has a section missing between chapters 11 and 12. The whole scene of disguising E.23 is omitted!

Kim, by Rudyard Kipling. This e_book is defective: a section between chapters 11 and 12 has been omitted. In it, Kim healed and concealed E23, another secret agent. The present Chapter 12 begins with E23 healed. Something needs to be done to repair this defect.

Favorite adventure, historical novel.. Great read. Have enjoyed many times since I was young.

Kim. Terrific book , reminded me of Herman Hesse's work. A journey revealing an India rich in diversity and beyond the ken of but a few Westerners.

One of the Jewels of the English Language. A fabulous journey through the world of illusion.

Defective. Kim is a great book. But this electronic version skips an entire important section - over 8 pages of my paperback copy of the book. This is totally unacceptable!

Kim. The book is superb, a wonderful adventure story that I have loved since childhood but the missing chapter makes this an edition to avoid. Project Gutenberg has a complete copy in various formats

Kipling's masterful evocation of life in India under the Raj. The man who wrote "The White Man's Burden" was the most enlightened of racists. His picture of the variety and energy of Indian native life under the Raj may be as much of a fantasy as "Gone With the Wind" as far as accurately reflecting the hardships and injustices of the society it portrays, but just like " Gone With the Wind", this is one hell of a good story. The descriptions of Indian life surging along the Great Trunk Road, mixing and clashing on the Railroad, feinting and adventuring in the high mountains - they are just wonderful. If all you know of Kipling is the Disney version of "The Jungle Book", start here, and you won"t be disappointed. A great book for anyone 10 or older who has ever had an itchy foot.

Excellent read. This is the 4th time I have read Kim and still I find it an excellent book.

Kim. This is the enthralling story of a white boy growing up on the streets in India around the late 1880s. Having been orphaned at the age of 3 he has only vague memories of his white British culture and can easily pass as a Hindu or Muslim native to India. Out of curiousity he attaches himself to a wandering Tibetan lama and the two proceed together on their separate quests. Eventually his being a "sahib" catches up with him but although his birth race claims him he never fully loses his Hindu side and this is put to good use in the later chapters as the story unfolds. The story is rich in local colour and detail and clearly brings out the many cross-cultural delights and the tensions of India at that time. It is written with loving sympathy for that beautiful, amazing and to the Western mind, chaotic country and is remarkable for having been written so sensitively by a white man, much of whose own experience of growing up is evidently reflected here. A joy to read, a real insight into its time.

Great classic story. When I was very young I watch a move called Kim, loved the story but could only remember it vaguely. The book is everything I remember only more. Although the story is s little dated, it still conjures up Rudyard Kipling's India, a real treat. Loved it!

Kim. A great classic, well worth a read.
