Cook book. I love any Italian cook book because I am Italian

It's not quite good.. Disappointed. 

Excellent read. love this and cant belive its a free book.

Traditional and regional. After reading this cookbook it seems that these recipes are set from varying areas of Italy. Some of the meals are very traditional and not for everyone but there are enough recipes to try that will take you on a quick tour of Italy. Keeping an open mind to these meals will make for some interesting dinner parties.

Half baked. The instructions are not very precise. Because of when this written, no cooking temperature is given. Only states low or high heat.

Italian Cuisine. This book is a throw back to a simpler time. I loved reading it not only for the recipes but for the social history as well. The recipes are very good, some are involved but most are easy to do.

A fantastic collection of recipes from the Old World!. I can’t believe that this book is free, there is such a rich collection of dishes for every ingredient one could hope for! From chicken and duck to artichoke and celery, this book is a classic collection of rich Italian food that will make you full and happy! There isn’t much for measurement notation or cooking time and the order of the recipes is a little annoying but complaining about that for a book of this age is silly, so read and learn from this fantastic cook book!

Useful history!. This book was obviously written in the early 20th century, as evidenced by the reference to "the great war". So thus is a bit of an insight into traditional Italian cooking. I've tried some of the recipes, with the aid of some cross-references to modern recipes, and my food turned out great. A fun and useful book!

Really neat book...if you know how to cook.. I love this book. It is a turn of the century cookbook. I like that it shows how recipes used to be saved and conveyed. You do need to understand the principles of cooking, and must be willing to stretch yourself, but what a treasure! A cookbook that could have come from your great grandmother.

Disappointing. I know this is a free book... but a cookbook that describes amounts like "moderate" and "a good amount" rather than ounces or tablespoons and has NO PICTURES is almost worthless to anyone but expert chefs.

Good book!. Good book, great if you already have a basic understanding of cooking. Love to improvise . Made the soup and loved it!!

Amazing, truly amazing.. I can't believe this is a free book. This is the type of book that you'd find buried in an attic or in the back of a used book store, its a real historical gem and quite insightful. If you are someone that must have precise measurements in your recipes then this book might be a bit of a shocker to you with ingredients like "celery stock as long as your little finger" and "enough flour to make a paste" but that's how it used to be. These old recipes are real reminder of the old maxim that cooking is an art, not a science. This book gives you basic and traditional ways to make every classic Italian food and many more that never really popped up in American cuisine. At the very least it gives you a great insight into old world cooking techniques and some great ideas for sustainable cooking (because it was written in a time when everything was sustainable). Great find!

Useless. I'm Italian and I found this book difficult and frustrating.

Interesting. This is not your ordinary cookbook.It seems as though a loving grandmother wrote it for someone who experienced grandma's cooking and watched her cook many times before, someone who knows more than just the basics of "Italian food". If you appreciate Italian food, how it tastes, looks, feel and how to enjoy it then get it.
