My Low Carb Story, Diet Book, Cookbook, and Shopping List by Fernando Urias Book Summary

I wrote this book in 2010 after twelve years of maintaining a successful and trouble-free low carbohydrate lifestyle.

I updated it on September 4 2020 while I was writing "All Calories Count: A Well-Engineered Diet and Cookbook" and noticed that it could be improved.

I have enjoyed twenty-two years in a low carbohydrate lifestyle, maintaining a stable weight, eating good meals, experiencing overall good health, never being hungry, incurring in diet violations when I thought it was worth it, being in ketosis most of the time, having no regrets, and benefiting from an unexpected mental sharpness. I should also mention I have never experienced sexual impotence since I read some men with Type-2 diabetes do.

I am still reading and learning about nutrition to make sure that this way of eating will also maximize my longevity.

At the age of sixty-three, in 2019, my small pot belly came back and I had to make adjustments to my low carbohydrate lifestyle to eliminate it again. I experimented with low carb low fat (Stillman diet) and low carb high fat (ketogenic diet).

I found out that to lose weight, I had to space out my meals using Intermittent Fasting (IF) and reduce my food intake to only food that is essential.

At the same time, I had to make sure that I was not deficient in any essential nutrients.

I realized I was using my knowledge of low carbohydrate diets and my skills as a process engineer to design a diet that I could use the rest of my life.

I am writing this experience in "All Calories Count: A Well-Engineered Diet and Cookbook" which will be published January 8 2022 and is currently available for pre-order at a discounted price.

Short book, not a cookbook at all. Good thing this book is free because there is not much to it. Gives a personal account of a man's experience with low carb/Atkins diet. He doesn't give recipes. Not worth downloading.

Not a cookbook!!. So glad it was free and didn't have to buy it. They make you think it is a cookbook, there are no recipes it!

Good perspective of a low carb diet.. This is a good book to introduce a low-carb style of living. It gives you information about the science behind the diet and the way the body digests different nutrients. I suggest this book to motivate those of us who need a jump start into low-carb livin'. The book is nice, short, to the point.

Incorrect information. The author here talks about several aspects of diet, but they are incorrect... I.e. cholesterol that you eat is NOT related to cholesterol in your blood. This is just one example, im afraid the sources here need to be checked.

Incredibly excellent!. This book deciphers everything that makes a low carb lifestyle hard to understand (in other publications) for non medical folk who have an interest in the true health benefits that it brings. I am so thankful to the author for doing this. I highly recommend this read for anyone who just isn't buying into the hype that is fed to the general public about low calorie high carb diets. The book. Ok

Really enjoyable. I just started dieting and working out, after having a baby wanted to loose all the weight I gained and having a low carb diet , it is really true where he says he had so much energy same thing is happening to me I have all this energy that I didn't have before the diet highly recommending to read this book if u want to loose some weight and keep eating healthy for rest of your life.

So Simple. I enjoyed this quick read and found the restating of mainstream, low carb diet keys easy to follow. My husband has gotten to his goal weight within two months (he dropped 23 lbs). I am a new recruit & look forward to the coming results.

Good, to the point, but fishy.. The book is good and goes quickly to the point. It is a complete summary of what is needed to keep/start a low carb diet. I saw a few sections of the book that could be explained better. I also notice that a few facts were wrong, but nothing major. One note of this boom is that this author assumes his situation to be prove of the whole, which is a wrong starting point. Is a quick read, so enjoy.

My low carb story, Diet book. This was one of the best books I've read about low carb diet. It is full of useful informations. It is written in a very simple way for anyone to understand. I can't wait to change my life through watching what I eat. Thank you so much for writing it!

Everything I ever needed to know!!. Iv finally found what I was looking for, I found I didn't have the money to buy the books I needed to get the info about low-carb eating ,then I got my iPad and straight away I found what i was looking for and for FREE!!!! Honestly this book covers everything bout low-carb eating good points and the low points ,ther has been slot of work and research gone into this book, and I now feel confident enough to do it :) thank you for taking the time to write and share this with us.

Average. A very dull personal account of the diet laid out by Dr Atkins, the author clearly had much success with the diet. The book however is filled with various deductions which are incorrect, and 'facts' about macronutrients which are just plain wrong. It is my opinion that the author needs to read a good biology text book.

Finally found a good diet book. This really opens my mind!

The only weight loss book you need. Excellent summary of low carb eating for weight loss and for life. Better than all the paid low carb diet books I have.
