The Future of Us by Jay Asher & Carolyn Mackler Book Summary

Josh and Emma are about to discover themselves--fifteen years in the future

It's 1996, and Josh and Emma have been neighbors their whole lives. They've been best friends almost as long--at least, up until last November, when everything changed. Things have been awkward ever since, but when Josh's family gets a free AOL CD-ROM in the mail, his mom makes him bring it over so that Emma can install it on her new computer. When they sign on, they're automatically logged onto Facebook . . . but Facebook hasn't been invented yet. Josh and Emma are looking at themselves fifteen years in the future.

Their spouses, careers, homes, and status updates--it's all there. And every time they refresh their pages, their futures change. As they grapple with the ups and downs of what their lives hold, they're forced to confront what they're doing right--and wrong--in the present.

More sample pages. It is a good read and I just wish it had more sample pages. But it was still great.

The Future of Us. A Nice Journey With "The Elements", But "What About God", What About "The Other Part of Us", What About The Part of Us That "God Gave To Us", As "The True Contrast" To The Part of Us That "Our Mother and Father" Gave To Us, So We Can Truly Understand "Who We Already Are", And Disappear Back Into "That" While We Still Can. That Is The True "Future of Us", and that is for sure. Yes?

Amazing!. I loved this book and didn't want to stop reading. I seriously recommend it!

Blah. Personally, i hated everything about this book. The characters had absolutely no personality and the book itself had no depth. The writing style was too choppy and the ending happened too abruptly and was not anywhere near shocking. Overall, i wouldnt reccomend this book to anyone who expects this to be as great as 13 reasons why. Dont waste your time or your money.

WOW. I couldnt put this book now when i started to read it! If you think this book just lookes good then you will love to read it! I know I did! :)

Loved it!!!. I loved the book and my fav is the last chapter. Omg wish it would never end !!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’˜

One of the best books I've read in a long time. A compelling read that combines romance and the future. A very creative idea and intensive plot. It goes back and forth between Josh and Emma who both deal with changing the present to make their futures better. Overall a great read that will not disappoint!

Great, fun. A good sweet read

Great book. I wish it could give u more sample pages

Well written. Love the perspective of two characters. Great read!

Great Book. This was a well written book. I enjoyed every bit of it.

Oh my gosh. I read 13 reasons why by Jay Asher and loved it... When I saw that this was coming out I got so excited. I knew what i wanted to happen at the end but I didn't know the truth. I loved every second of this book and I defiantly recommend it. Amazing book!

Great. Great, very cute

Best book ever!!!. This book is absolutely shocking throughout the story! Josh and Emma learn to deal with the future, even if it's not what they want to see on the screen. If you like the book Matched, then this book is for you! It has a sci-fi feel to it and will make you want to read it more.

Awesome. Had the hardest time putting my Ipod away and stop reading. I felt every emotion Josh and Emma felt. This is a definate must read for all ages.

Good Read!. Best book ever!

๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š. Very interesting and would be cool to see a movie made about it!!

Great book.. I read Jay Asher's other book and loved it. This book was so great, really fun to read and made you think abut thinks like destiny, friendship, the future, and your facebook page. Great book.

Great book. I thought this book was really good. It's hard to see our lives without facebook these days and looking back you really get the sense of seeing your future can affect how you act in the present changing everything in ripples till your whole life is a complete mess. Also I love the dysfunctional relationship between each character giving the book a more dimensional feel.

Absolutely Amazing!. I got this book and I wasn't able to put it down the entire time! I read through it in one night. What happens to Emma and Josh will have you turning the pages until you get to the end. I thought it was a great book and it really makes you think, 'what would I do if this was me?'. I suggest you get it! :D

Good book.. Great book, was hoping for a better ending

It's ok. Nothing big, what do you do when you manage to see your future?? The obvious.... Change it for the better... Blaaahh

Awesome. Awesome

AMAZING!!!!. By far, this is the best book I have read all year. Funny, entertaining, heartfelt, and a little romantic. An absolute recommend to anyone looking for a great read.

Great. Thoroughly enjoyed this book!

The Future of Us. The future of us is an amazing book, which discusses from Emma and Josh's friendship and how along the way Emma and Josh are dating other people like Emma with Graham and Dylan and with Cody. Also, Josh with Sydney, and many girls. Kellan and Tyson have this on again and off again relationship. Then, at the end Tyson is back with Kellan and Emma reconcile and is now in a relationship with Josh, Emma Nelson Jones and Josh Templeton.

Great.. I read thirteen reasons why after seeing the reviews, and was kinda disappointed. Great concept but I didn't think it was done correctly. I worried The Future Of Us would be the same. I was wrong. Loved it from the beginning to the end, and I loved how it ended. Definitely captivated me and got me into the characters.

The best book I ever read. I read this book years ago from the library and now that I reread it, itโ€™s still one of my favourites.

A Disappointed Reccomendation. I read this book with high expectations...I was very disappointed. The way the authors cut you out of Facebook right in the middle of the action wasnt the smartest idea and Emma was a jerk. I reccomend this book-the plot is amazing and everything seems perfect until the end- but it will disappoint.

it's ok... ..but I agree with Authorized57, the characters were so absorbed with themselves that it just killed and dragged the story. But hey, the concept is intriguing and the story was entertaining at some parts. :-)

The future of us. Awesome book. Loved it. I was so involved I even dreamed about it!!! Great book!!!

Standing ovation ๐Ÿ‘. This book is just amazing, and wonderfully written. I loved every word of it!! So yes, it is worth your time and money, I recommend that you buy it. NOW!

Great book!. This book kept me excited all the way through. And I read it in just about two days. Asher is an amazing contemporary author.

Loved it. Loved this book soo much! It really hooks you in, wish there was a sequel though :(
