Gutsy. This was an awesome book! I loved all the characters and couldn't put the book down. I've read all the books in the series and can't wait for JD to write the next one!

Great!. I absolutely enjoy The Little Town Series. J.D Nixon is amazing.

Bad!. This book drug on. It was hard to stay interested although I finished it hoping for it to get better at some point. No love story, no real conflict. What was the main plot of the story? I will not read another book by this author.

WHAT A STRANGE........ I think this story is unusual. I got involved in it even though the many four letter words or the innuendo of such language is always a "turn off" for me. I did persevere and continue to read because the story was strange and different. The characters were willful especially the family of criminals. This story includes lust, sex, nastiness, hate,determination to kill the heroine and a strong desire by the established police to make the community a safe place. The whole situation perpetrated by a nasty, unlawful family determined to undermine the law. This author has a strong sense of excellent story-telling and the ability to "paint" the characters in a manner that makes them real. Yes, I would read other books by this author and I would expect those books to be as well-written as of fear, love and romance.

Great book!. I started reading this book on Friday and just finished it Monday morning. I couldn't put it down.

Best book. This book has a lot of things that are funny. They even make me laugh, which is pretty hard, besides people laughing makes me laugh. I almost have no sense of humor at all, barely anyone has heard my laugh. There has been a couple of times, though, but they were mostly me laughing at my own jokes. Like the time I called my group’s ship on the Pilgrim Simulation “The Flat Tire” (what makes it even more funny is we landed on the island last). My favorite part was the epilogue, the part where it says, ““I’m slowly making my way through the Tim Tams, but every time I finish a packet, another one appears in its place. It’s a little spooky.” And if you guys read the book already, you already know who is replacing them, or who we all think is (answer below). Overall, this is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Can’t wait for the 5th. P.S. update this book because the 4th book is out, and maybe you have the 5th book’s name which I would really like to know. The answer to who (I think) is replacing the Tim tams is no other than; The Sarge (Finn)

Never start an unfinished story!. Read the first four books in this series - quite enjoyable but started to feel a but dragged out. I was reading on to see how the story ended. But the promised part five was due out a couple years back and never materialised! Not sure what happened but very frustrating. Wouldn’t have bought the books if I’d known I’d be left hanging!

A fabulous read. Couldn’t wait to get back to it when I had to it it down. Love Tess she is a great character

Cracker yarn. A cracker yarn with wonderfully drawn principal characters and a setting that's utterly believable. Some of the emotional drama is a little clunkily drawn but on the whole extremely enjoyable. And you'll love the Detective Inspector!

Action, love, laughter, it has it all!. Blood Ties by JD Nixon Tess Fuller a small town cop, tries to keep the peace and takes on the local trouble makers who all happen to be from one family. Enter Sarge, her new boss and ride along as they deal with corruption, abuse, some heart in your mouth moments and your typical small town problems. There were quite a few moments where I was physically laughing out loud and I enjoyed the glimpse into small town mentality. I highly recommend it and will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

Left me sleepless. I downloaded this book for my partner who never got around to reading it. I started when I couldn't sleep one night and then ending up forfeiting sleep the next night as well until I finished the book. I love this book and I just bought the next two as well :) can not wait to start reading

Get This Book ... you will not be disappointed. When I downloaded this book, I really was expecting crap! Because of being a free book. I was completely shocked when I read it. It was, in my opinion better than the Heller books. Though, I will still happily buy more when they are available. I can't wait to purchase the rest of the Blood series. Happy reading

Great Author!. I'm a huge new fan of JD Nixon. Started with the Heller series and read all 4 books in 3 weeks. Now I'm hooked on the Little Town series and can't wait to start book 2. I love her style and the characters are addictive. What a great find!
