good book by a good man. i really enjoyed this book. it caused me to once again, question the narrative i see presented on the news. reporters come at every story with a skewed perspective and report what agrees with that perspective while ignoring or suppressing what doesn't. the care and thought given to the process of extracting information from our enemies while battling our own system is evident throughout this book. the author is a dedicated and decent guy trying to do an incredibly difficult job. Thanks A Lot!!

Truth at last. A nuanced and detailed examination highlighting how leaks of information to the press endanger national security, and an explanation of why intelligence employees need to purchase legal liability insurance to aid their defense when the government they are trained to serve turns its back and hangs them out to dry. Provides a detailed explanation of interrogation techniques used against captured militants involved in conspiracy to commit mass-murder against the United States. A useful book for legal scholars and historians.

Hard Measures. Probably the best "real life story" book I ever read. Jose makes me proud of being also from PR and to have served and retired from the Army. Stay strong my friend and God Speed! The definition of patriot has is picture right next to it!. First thing: dulcitunes, I even wonder why people like u read books like this. U have your head stuck so far in the sand that u've got it coming out of ur **s! How do u propose we protect ourselves? How do u think we would have gotten the intel to finally get bin laden? How do u propose we protect ourselves in the future? Everyone can hate the measures, the extent we have to go to do certain things, but NO ONE is man enough to actually propose the answers. Unless u have a realistic way to help the situation, and have some solutions to propose, some alternative ways to gather this info, then just keep your big fat mouth shut! As for the book, one word: tremendous! To have an actual first person account is simply tremendous. He was there for all of it, was there when the info was gathered. That FBI agent (Soulan?) that says all this is BS, wasn't even there! Typical. The detail, the timeline are worthy of the read alone. What we did to protect our country, to prevent further attacks and to gather more intel is awesome. Glad to see that we were actually accomplishing something behind the scenes, when we weren't privy to the details! Nice work!

Patriot. Mr. Rodriguez is a true patriot and should be given the medal of honor, but instead he will more than likely be characterized as a criminal by the leftist propaganda machine. This book explains what was required to keep our country safe and gain intelligence which prevented untold deaths. It's a recommended read for all college students brainwashed by their liberal professors.

Mr. Rodriguez hopefully you will read this , I want to take this time as an American to thank you for your service to our country your a great American , I was following all the news and BS that was coming out about this ,how our government was turning on their own, the very ones that have dedicated their life's making us all safer and some that gave their life's too . Wonderful. This book was facinating and had me from beginning to end. The policies that our current leaders take of launching missle strikes rather than capturing people for information will come back to bite us just as Mr. Rodriguez says it will.

Professional and pragmatic. That being said...I wonder how many times Leslie Stahl has had one of her whiny leftist questions answered with an emphatic BULLSH!T...!!!! Walking a thin line of moral turpitude Mr. Rodriguez makes a fine case for "hard measures".

Reality check. Rodriguez is a real patriot, unlike the Chicago hood raised anti-American politico in the White House and his anti-white attorney general. Disgusting that so many give so much to their country while phonies like Obama question their integrity.

Shocking hypocrisy, Mr. President. As Obama spikes the football, he must know that what Mr. Rodriguez did had a direct impact on locating and killing OBL. Yet he outlawed these enhanced interrogation techniques for political reasons. I applaud Jose Rodriguez for his service to our country, I cannot say the same for the current president.

Jose Rodriquez is a National Hero. Agree, or disagree, this is an immensely important story every American outsider should read. Before weighing in with their emotional musings on the subject. This Army veteran would like to thank Jose, and all the amazing men and women in the clandestine services. For their commitment, and dedication.

Corroboration. Read this book and the one by James Mitchell (Enhanced Interrogation) who worked for Mr Rodriguez. Bill Harlow was the ghost writer of both, so maybe he minimized factual differences in the two men’s stories. But that said, we now have two books that almost completly agree on how EITs were developed and applied in a very researched, precise and (if you can believe it) humane manner. A good read to learn more from the guys on the ground.

Best book. This book is must red book for all American. Read and appreciate the hard work that CIA did to protect us. Thank you and god bless you.

Hard Measures. Nice story about a very patriotic American. Not terribly well written, but an informative account of difficult times in recent US history.

Required reading. This should be required reading for all college students. An amazing look at how the media and politicians undermine our nation's safety.

Hard Measures exemplifies dedication, loyalty and true patriotism from Jose Rodriguez. The reading of this book provided me a great sense of pride in those members of the CIA who have served and continue to serve to keep us safe. Jose Rodriguez is a True Hero and Patriot. His legacy is established by his selfless sacrifice to protect those who serve with him for the protection of Our Nation. Highly recommend this book.

Great book. Written with obvious honesty exposing the corrupt machinations of the Obama administration, especially Eric Holder and the Department of "Justice." Jose is a true American hero and patriot.

Must Read !!!. Great book, couldn't put it down. I think Mr Rodriguez deserves a congressional medal of honor for his hard work and dedication, thanks to him thousands of lives have been saved. Unfortunately he was sacrificed to the "Tree Huggers" and the "Kool Aid Drinkers". I only wish electroshock therapy would have been a part of the EIT, like KSM said "If they would've caught any US Soldiers they would've done much worst to them". Mr Rodriguez is a Patriot in my book !!!
