A life hanging in the balance…a family torn apart—New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult tells an unforgettable story about family secrets, love, and letting go.

On an icy winter night, a terrible accident forces a family divided to come together and make a fateful decision. Cara, once protected by her father, Luke, is tormented by a secret that nobody knows. Her brother, Edward, has secrets of his own. He has kept them hidden, but now they may come to light, and if they do, Cara will be devastated. Their mother, Georgie, was never able to compete with her ex-husband’s obsessions, and now, his fate hangs in the balance and in the hands of her children. With conflicting motivations and emotions, what will this family decide? And will they be able to live with that decision, after the truth has been revealed? What happens when the hope that should sustain a family is the very thing tearing it apart?

lone Wolf. Interesting, different

Boring!. I love many of Jodi’s books but this was by far my least favorite😞

Captivated. I read this in one weekend - I kept coming back to read more. I really enjoyed this story.

Loved it.. Loved it couldnt put it down!

Not my favorite. I found the wolf aspect and the symbolism to signify a family to be boring and repetitive in the Luke diary's. I don't know what went wrong, but you would hope that there could be a mystery as to who drove the truck in the accident. That could've been an incredible ending and confession added to the story making it a great thriller. Further, the injuries to Luke where so obvious that they should 've pulled the plug a long time ago. At least Picoult recognized that Cara was coming from an emotional stand point as a guardian trying to keep her father alive. Also, the wishes of what Luke signed with Edward is a legal document voiding out Any harang they did in this book. ( at least that's the way it was taught to me in law school). I am however, looking forward to the next book about nazi neighbor, now there's a story instead of this nonsense about a story finding a man wolf who would, unlike any one else , go without washing, sleep on dirt, and eat live animals, blood guts and all. Nasty, I have to eat after this. This next to Change of Heart is one of her worst books written along with Songs of the Humpback Whales.

Lone Wolf. Compared to the other books I've read by Jodi, this was not her finest work. It's still an excellent quick read but her finest.

Lone Wolf. I have read many of Jodi Picoult's books and am never disappointed. I love that she seems to investigate the subject matter so thoroughly. I always feel like I can see the characters and get to know them very well. Another fab book!!

Lone Wolf. This was not my favorite by any means of J. Pocult's books, and yet I had to finish it. It just seemed to be too far out to believe and not yet the category of a fairy tale. Had this been the first of her books that I had read I don't know that I would have read any more and that would have been a great loss! I think I have read all of her books , my favorite being Perfect Match. Keep on writing! What a gift you have! M.K.

Lone Wolf. This was an excellent book. My second favorite of Jodi's books. The story twisted and turned and kept surprising and the ending didn't disappoint. Thank you Jodi!

Great Read. In keeping with Jodi's style of story telling, Lone Wolf does not disappoint. The wolf information was beautifully weaved into a set of real and believable family circumstances. I think this story, along with Nineteen Minutes and Sing You Home are my favorites. I'm glad to see a collaboration with her daughter is in the works. Kids can bring a whole new flavor to adult writing.

Everything you never wanted to know about wolves. If you want a complete education about wolves and the dynamics of a wolf pack, read away! If, however, you're looking for a juicy vacation read, this snooze feet is for you.

Good book by my favorite author. Jodi Picoult has always been my favorite author, so I couldn't wait to read this book. All I can say is it was good when usually her books are great. There was far too much information about wolves. I liked the ending, however, and I'm glad I read the book.

Must read.. First book that I read by Jodi Picoult. It was amazing. I had my doubts when I first started because each chapter was a different story. It was very well written that kept me reading. Everything still tied together and made sense. Great insights into the human and wolf psyche. Excellent read until the very last page.

Lone wolf. The book is great. But on my ereader, the final page of each chapter is repeated about 10 times. Very annoying, especially since it could be fixed.

Great read!. Captivating storyline. Lots of great ties to my own family.

The Lone Wolf. Couldn't put the book down, right up there with her best books!!! Still doesn't beat 19 Minutes though!!

Bravo!!!!!!. This book is awesome!!!!!!!!! I <3 this book, it's one of my favorite books:)

Boring because there really isn't any reason to keep him alive.. A man who has clearly stated he doesntwant. To br kept alive if his brain is dead. Should have the plug pulled The best part is the wolves stories...Luke's understanding of their Family structure

Outstanding!. This is the first of this author's books I've read and I'm hooked!

I lost sleep. I lost sleep over this book cause I couldn’t put it down.

Incredible. I was skeptical becos of the title but after having read a few chapters i realized it is amazing. Page turner and reslly good. Totally recommended.

Lone wolf. I really enjoyed it. I loved the structure to it how it goes from one character to the next. I was mainly anticipating Luke's story.

Jodi Picoult. I don’t know how you come up with these poignant characters, the settings, and the points of conflict that are relevant to modern life. When I first read THE STORYTELLER, I couldn’t put it down. LONE WOLF kept me up much later than I intended. This book was excellent. Noreen

Not my favorite. Jodi Piccoult is my favorite author, so I have been waiting eagerly for her latest novel. I was sadly disappointed, however. There were teases of the typical "Piccoult twists", but nothing really ever happened. I hope her next one is closer to her early work. The last couple have not been phenomenal.

Great book. The book was really great. On a side note, to those "reviewers" incapable of talking about a book without revealing the various plot lines: shame on you. Ruining the book for others is poor form.

Always great. I love Jodi's books and this one was fantastic! Definitely a page turner and had me in tears at the end!

Disappointing. 17 year old Cara and her father Luke are in a car accident that leaves him brain dead and on life support. Estranged son, Edward, returns after a 7 year absence to help his sister and make final arrangements. What ensues is a disagreement between siblings that winds up in court. Cara is perhaps the most unlikable character Picoult has ever written. She acts like a spoiled brat who is more interested on being right than saving her father, no matter who it hurts. Edward is a much more likable character. He claims that he left home because Luke didn't accept that he was gay. What I found wonderful about this character is that being gay was the least interesting thing about him. He wasn't dating, in fact no one in the book was dating. Edward wasn't flamboyant. He was just like every other character. His sexual orientation made no difference, it was like the difference between blue and brown eyes. Unfortunately, that isn't enough for me to give the book a good review. The book was predictable, even the plot twists and turns were. The book is a good enough read, but get it at the library rather than paying good money for it.

Buy favorite so far. I loved every thing about this book.

Lone Wolf. As usual I couldn't put this book down until I completed it. Jodi is one of my favorite authors whom will always keep you thinking!

Lone wolf. Disappointing. I read through it skipping over many of the chapters, in hopes the ending would be great. Good author, but don't spend your download on this one.

Lone Wolf. Great book that was a fast read. It is amazing that Picoult never runs out of relevant topics to write about. One of my favorites of hers.

Lone Wolf. Jodi always brings all the characters & situations to life. This book was heartfelt & well researched.

Lone Wolf. Excellent details & intriguing story line.

Lone Wolf. Cool ending, made me smile!

Liked, but. I am a huge jodi picoult fan, but her last few books have felt a bit formulaic with the lawsuits, tough questions, ending that wraps up like a christmas ribbon. (she is mary higgins clark for the ivy league set.) i enjoyed this book, though I skipped some of the wolf stuff. Id like to see Jodi experiment a bit more with her next book. And, as I wrote in another review, enough with the point of view chapters. They're overused in today's chick reads.

Lone wolf. Book was ok, but not one of my favorites.
