A one sided book. I can see why conservatives like this book:), The country is so split up in two,their is fighting over whether this book is good or not! My only comment,is that it was well written.... Whoever said "everybody should read it in HS,or College" is going a little too far,as the book shows one sided thinking.Good book for Fox news viewers,however!

Anyone who says they can't read and understand this book doesn't want to know what's going on and doesn't have to be an intellectual every word has been carefully selected so the truth just pops out no slick prose you can picture the decisions being made. A great, thought provoking book. An excellent presentation of the underpinnings of both the conservative and liberal movements. Many great writings are represented in this book. A deeply thoughtful work.

Brilliant book! A must read for every American. Mark Levin explains the utopian mindset of the left like no other. This book is a masterpiece and it is crucial that every American read this book. I have learned so much by Mr. Levin from his radio show, from his book Liberty and Tyranny, and now from Ameritopia. This is a good book to read as a family with your kids. Thank you Great One!

GOP propaganda. Cover says it all. You want to sell a book to pander to the right wing, just put a hack with a defiant pose in front of the stars and stripes. Same old sky is falling material in a not so new cover. Whatever keeps the right wing anger fueled.

Fantastical!. Thank you Mark for keeping the dream alive and bringing forward the real issues the citizens of this country are facing.

Levin is a Genius!. This is one of the best conservative books written in the past 200 years. The van belongs in the same breath as Locke, Payne, and Jefferson. This book will educate you and help you to take the fight to Liberals.

Another home run!. I read Mark's last book, "Liberty and Tyranny" and was sucked in. Just started reading this new one and it's been spot on. A great continuation of the first book! Forget the haters. Read these books and decide for yourself.

Conservative theory. I find interesting that the conservative movement in America feels that the media is biased and that liberal values are assaulting schools and universities, while at the same time are pushing for conservative authors like this one to presented in schools and colleges across the country as heroes. So which one is it going to be, are we going to allow students to get exposed to all kinds of thoughts (like the ones by this author at the same time as other non-conservative ideas like Climate Change and Evolution) or are we going to expose students to neither? We can't have the cake and eat it at the same time, otherwise we could be considered hypocrites.

What garbage, quick and recycle it!. Wow what an absolute piece of garbage. Continuation of the fear mongering that conservatives have been spewing for years this time with some out of context scraps of others writing to justify it. If you read this and like it please push yourself off of Reagan's cliff, for Reagan will not recognize you. So you want to live in a world where there is no better tomorrow? Go to the moon colony with Newt please!!!

Ameritopia. Another great book by the "Great One" Mark Levin. If you consider yourself to be an American you owe it to yourself to read this book. Well researched and written it gives you an appreciation of the Founders and their thinking while crafting the Constitution and of the influential men that inspired them at the time with their revolutionary thinking.

Wow!. I just started reading and did not want to wait until I was done to comment. Wow! Thank you, Mark! Your time and efforts are very much appreciated! I have needed some solid texts to use to teach my children about freedom and conservatism--because I am certain that the schools will not do it accurately, if at all. This book along with Liberty and Tyranny are exactly what I needed.

The Liberal Root Exposed!. FINALLY... The root of liberal utopian ideology is pulled and exposed for the modern public. Absolutely critical in our time. Even if you don't agree with Mark, this historical perspective on the idea of a Utopia cannot be ignored.

A must-read. Levin has delivered an invaluable tool of information at a critical time in America's history. Whether or not we survive as founded depends largely on how many grasp the difference between the shining city in a hill we once were and the false utopia we are in grave danger of becoming.

better than sleeping pills. this book is better than sleeping pills....cuz it will put you to sleep in a flash. i dont know who gives this book good reviews, but they must be boring people also.i think i would rather read a high school government text book than listen to this audio book. im only on chapter 4 and its really bad. dont waste your money,unless you have trouble sleeping then its perfect for you. i would have given this book 1/4 stars but it wouldnt let me

Ignorance is Bliss...I guess. An amazing, well cited, thoughtful work for anyone. I assume the hate reviews are just trolls or uneducated politic-myrmidons. Oh well, that's too bad.

Awesome!. This is a fantastic book!

Check Mate!. Mark Levin continues to expose the socialist movement that has slowly but effectively worked its way into the American economy and society as a whole. They call themselves progressives, liberals and other more palatable names when in fact they ARE socialists. I would love to see a well moderated debate between Mr. Levin and the MSNBC socialists such as Chris Mathews, Rachel Maddow, Ed , Sharpton , and the other guy O'Donnell. It would truly be laughable! ... For all of you Socialist who were inspired by the Hippie types who either grew up in that era or was "educated" by them in a college classroom, it's time for a dose of reality and Ameritopia nails it in a concise, well researched and educational way..... Check Mate!!!

Conservative. Great explanation of the flaw of liberalism.

Intellectually Untouchable. Not since "The 5,000 Year Leap" has there been such a detailed and insightful analysis of America's historical roots, intent of the Founders and diagnosis of her present condition. Simultaneously educational, infuriating, enlightening and sorrow-inducing, my fear is that the number of people willing to read it or capable of grasping its intellectual concepts is too few to inspire the needed course reversal to save our nation. Would that Mr. Levin had released this book four years ago. Cherish your copy, and, above all, share it with your children and grandchildren. I've no doubt this book will play a role in the refounding of America necessary to preserve the rights documented by her founders in a future generation.

Our kids are being brainwashed. We are on the road to serfdom and the Great One puts it in perspective. The answer is what Milton Friedman was trying to tell us a generation ago. If only the do-gooders could understand.

Inspiring. I have to admit, only knowing of Mark Levin for a short time, and only having read this book of his, it was hard to put down. As a moderate, I don't always agree with all of the philosophy behind conservatism, but after randomly checking facts in the book and looking at all angles, it's hard to counter Mark's research and statements. I recommend this book simply as an alternative to the lopsided mainstream media. Pick it up. You won't regret it.

Not GOP propaganda. To the reviewers who dismisses this book as propaganda: they don't know what they are talking about and either didn't read the book or know nothing of Mark Levin. He is not part of the GOP and is just as critical , if not more so, of the republican establishment than he is of progressive democrats. He is a true believer in individual liberty and our founding principles. This book gets to the core of the internal rot that has plagued this country for close to 100 years.

John Romeo. Ameritopia the essential book that the Founding Father warned would not be written; that freedom would perish if their posterity did not study the founding and the debate over the Constitution. Mark Levin's book is the missing textbook from every school in America. For me, the most important part of the book is the bibliography, because you simply can't make this stuff up. The bibliography is the outline for any University Political Science program. Not only is Ameritopia essential reading, but the reference books should read as well.

Which liberty?. Mark Levin has written a remarkable book on political theory that asks a simple question: What is the end or goal of a society's government? Is it a freedom from choice, surrendered to an elite, in exchange for the promise that all will be cared for and all failures corrected? Or is it a freedom to chose the manner, methods and goals of my own life, with the risks and rewards, the responsibilities and possibilities, the failures and the successes, that can come from such a freedom if government just gets out of the way and gives us the room to live. It is a timeless question, going back to the sources Mr. Levin references - classics of Western political thought; it is as timely as our political choices in the next few months. Mr. Levin has fleshed out a thesis with great sources honestly presented - this is not mere polemic. I wish I were as optimistic as he is. The inevitable demands of what passes for government today for more say, more power, more of the public wealth, and more of my individual responsibility all to create a just-over-the-horizon perfection seems unstoppable. It is especially galling when experience demonstrates just how corrupt, incompetent, and imperfect its track record really is. Utopia comes from the Greek for good place, but with the implication of no place or nowhere. It is outside of experience and history. It is where good intentions can give everybody healthcare, save jobs, and heal the planet, if I just give more of my freedom to someone else. It is remarkable that the accomplishments of the American experience for over two centuries, to settle a continent, build a nation, face our greatest failures, build a society of enormous progress and prosperity, and tackle great challenges could be less attractive then this nowhere. But to many it is. Mr. Levin reminds us that we have a choice. Which liberty?

Ameritopia. Too many quotes for me. Seemed like most of the reading was a compilation of quotes, very little observations from the author. But, interesting overall.

Another Must Read By Levin. This book should be required reading for both high school and college students alike. Levin deconstructs piece by piece from a historical standpoint so many flaws with the way government is run today.

Mark. The most concise delivery and identification of the past, the present and the future as it relates to the causes and cures for the ills that are affecting America. Its good to read something that provides some hope and a clear path to mass prosperity for Americans.

Perfect cure for liberal blues. Awesome summary of the fall of a great nation to liberalism and its statist agenda. No passes given to leadership here. Mark has me leaning towards conservatism now (moderate indy). Way to go!

He did it again!. This should be required reading for all Americans.

Review of Burke. If you'd read the book or paused to think, you'd understand that "trying to make the world better" isn't the problem. Conservatives are trying to make the world better too. The problem is that you seem to think your ostensible intentions are all that matter and you are heedless of the actual consequences of the policies you advocate. Everything and everybody you support is worse off as a result of your policies made reality.

Perfect timing. Mr. Levin puts his heart in this piece of literature that should be on every desk and dinner table. From a historical perspective, our country is in peril and Mark explains the basis for these times. Educate your kids and grand kids by sharing this piece of wisdom and knowledge.

Amazing. There's a reason why Mark Levin is referred to as "The Great One". Everyone should read this book.

Enlightening!. I've never read anything by this author before. I have to say, though, that the thoughtful way he compares the various utopian philosophies (egalitarian and libertarian alike) and presents his argument is impressive and enlightening. I highly recommend this book. It is important.

Pure genius. Don't listen to the 1 star review. Reviewing an entire book on just the sample, especially a book with the depth of this, makes the reviewer look petty and quite frankly, a liberal hack...actually, one could say a pursuer of Utopia...read the book and you'll understand what I mean. Mark's book Liberty and Tyranny was great, although I found Men In Black to be a little better. However, I read this book in 48 hours and my son will be reading it next. Fantastic.

Beware of a author that hides his bad ideolgical ideas behind a Flag. Anyone that trys to wrap their bad ideogical ideas behind a flag does not have the countries best interest at heart. Mark Levin is no different. His books reads of pure ideology and no sense of reality. All Partisan rage and no common sense. No surpise he wraps his nonsense around a flag that represents freedom. Otherwise his ideas be called out for what they are tyrannical. not a good read

Very interesting book, wrong premise. The book itself is a very well constructed argument against the efforts of building a "utopian" society. That said, I find it quite amusing that anyone would accuse America of trying to be a utopia. It's a little like reading a book that makes a brilliant case against America become a nation of llama herders. There are many reasons that is not an optimal idea, but the fact is, no one is actually trying to do that. I actually found myself snickering during the reading as it appears to me that Mr. Levin is creating a problem and an enemy that does not exist. There are liberals, of course, as there are conservatives, but in my experience, a socialist in the style of Marx is extremely rare, and without a voice. President Obama, if viewed from an "American" standpoint, is barely left of center in his actual proposals. In Canada, Great Britian, Germany, Australia...his same proposals would be considered that of a strong conservative. America is great, because it combines socialized services as a foundation, with great rewards for entreprenurial spirit as a limitless ceiling. We will always need to have a mix of both, and which are appropriate for the current times, are what we should be discussing. That said, all Liberals that I know are well aware that one cannot solve all problems, and they do not intend to do that. The discussions that we always have are based on the following question: How can we best protect against risk, without limiting opportunities? This should be the question for Health Care, Education, Defense, Energy, Environment, Social Security, Infrastructure... Mr. Levin is first and foremost an entertainer. His salary is directly in proportion to his ratings on the radio and his book sales (to which I have happily contributed). I think in this case, he has written a very good book about a non-existent topic.
