We are not alone.

On Ganymede, breadbasket of the outer planets, a Martian marine watches as her platoon is slaughtered by a monstrous supersoldier. On Earth, a high-level politician struggles to prevent interplanetary war from reigniting. And on Venus, an alien protomolecule has overrun the planet, wreaking massive, mysterious changes and threatening to spread out into the solar system.

In the vast wilderness of space, James Holden and the crew of the Rocinante have been keeping the peace for the Outer Planets Alliance. When they agree to help a scientist search war-torn Ganymede for a missing child, the future of humanity rests on whether a single ship can prevent an alien invasion that may have already begun . . .

Made Me A Believer. I must admit it took me almost two years to read the first book in the Expanse series which is called Leviathan Wakes, I would read a little bit of it, then come back to it months later, I just couldn’t see what all the hype about the Expanse was. After finally finishing Leviathan Wakes, which I admit is a ok read, I read the next book in this series Caliban’s War and couldn’t put it down. One of the main characters Avarsarala is a foul-mouthed grandmother, and a politician who easily became my favorite person in the book. Believe the hype of the Expanse series it’s definitely worth reading.

A good follow-up. Well written and better than the first in my opinion. The list of characters gets more complex and makes for a better story overall. However, the characters are still a bit one dimensional and Holden hasn't evolved much in terms of personality. For a Sci-Fi story, the book is definitely less on science and more on fiction, but a decent read for a long plane flight. The publisher needs to catch those typos better, I noticed a couple.

Outstanding. This is an amazing book. A sequel as great as, if not better than, its predecessor

Excellent !. A great book ans sequel. Can’t wIt for Number 3

Awesome. Awesome

Love a good mystery. This has many overarching story arches at play that leave just needed to keep reading. Has a great mystery of a “who done it” while still showing what’s happening outside of the main storyline to keep you in tension the whole way through. Even better than the first novel in the series!

Great Summer Read. So this was my Summer book and it was so, so good! Can't wait for the third one to come out.

Incredible. It lagged in some places but was overall a great read

Great read!. Loving the series so far. The only qualms about this particular book was the swearing. So many "f-bombs" and what seems 99% coming from one character. That's the only reason for the three star. Otherwise I would have given it a five!

Awesome Sequel. This is an excellent continuation of the series. A solid story full of suspense and action with an great ending. Can't wait for the next one.

100 Words or Less. My complaint about the novel before this one was that it didn’t offer anything new. Well, Corey still doesn’t, but you know, that’s okay. He has discarded some of the more trite characterizations and “Caliban’s War” shows some flashes of great writing. However, I do wish the characters were a bit more than stand-ins for broad emotional swipes. That said, the novel holds together well and the plot races along. It’s a good read. It’s fun. I suppose that might be enough … unfortunately though, by the end I wished for more. More detail. More depth. More substance.

The Second Book in The Expanse Series Carries on the Adventure!. In many series, in the second book the story slows down, and maybe even drags. This is not the case here! There are new and exciting developments, new and interesting characters, and the return of the primary characters from the first book. The previous threat to humanity inhabiting the solar system reappears in an unexpected place, the factions of humans act against each other and the threat, and our heroes try to intervene, and save a little girl in the process. It is another action packed space-opera in the style of "Leviathan Wakes" with some new cast members that you will really like.

Fantastic. A great follow up book from the original that maintains the plot and tension. If you liked the first one, you’ll love this one too.

Great. Another awesome adventure in the Expanse universe. I love the hard sci fi feel these books bring. There’s no warp drive or light speed and space travel has serious consequences. This book picks up our favored crew along with some key players in Bobbie and Avasarala both playing key parts and driving a lot of the story. I’m also fascinated with the political edge added in with OPA, Mars and the UN and seeing it through a UN reps eyes. The OPA isn’t a big players in this novel but I’d be surprised if they didn’t have a bigger influence in future books. Highly recommend

Great Sci-Fi Drama. I really like this series so far and i’m glad I haven’t seen the show yet. The one thing that makes me give it 4 stars is its lack of lgbt characters and its straight guy perspective. It’s not horrible, but you can tell and I just ignore those parts because the story is so intriguing.
