The White Company by Arthur Conan Doyle Book Summary
The White Company is a historical adventure by Arthur Conan Doyle set during the Hundred Year's War. The story is set in England, France, and Spain, in the years 1366 and 1367, against the background of the campaign of Edward, the Black Prince to restore Peter of Castile to the throne of the Kingdom of Castile. The climax of the book occurs before the Battle of Nájera. Doyle became inspired to write the novel after attending a lecture on the Middle Ages in 1889. After extensive research, The White Company was published in serialized form in 1891 in Cornhill Magazine. Additionally, the book is considered a companion to Doyle's later work Sir Nigel, which explores the early campaigns of Sir Nigel Loring and Samkin Aylward.

Amazing. Doyle's best work
The White Company. Very good historical fiction. Sr. Arthur does a fantastic job.
Doyle wrote something besides Sherlock Holmes!. This turned out to be as good a medieval romance as ever Scott wrote. If you are expecting Victorian England this isn't the book for you. But for me I loved Ivanhoe so I found this to be quite a treat.
The White Company. Best thing I’ve read this year
The white company. Not Sherlock Holmes and an excellent story of Knights and chivalry. The writing is long on description and a little short on plot, and the end come pretty abruptly, and I would recommend it to anyone who thinks that Conan Doyle only wrote the Holmes mysteries.

A great book. As befits a great author. A book which left me wanting more an eager for the next page. 😀
The White Company. I have to confess that this book was revelation to me. Although I've read a number of Conan Doyle's non-Sherlock Holmes books this was so different. There were traces of the exactitude evident in his Boer War chronicle but this was more like some of Bernard Cornwall's efforts or should I say that the latter had clearly read The White Company. A well worthwhile read.
