Good book. I showed this book to my son who did not brush his teeth long enough. From that day on Shane would not forget to brush his teeth. Every time he forgot I would tell him about randy and he did not stop brushing

Get rid of Randy!. My little ones love this story. They read it over and over again. i was so excited when I saw it because I always referred to mouth germs as sugar bugs too! Just reinforces what I have been teaching them. My 4 yr old asks if he has brushed long enough to keep "randy" away. All moms of preschoolers need this story at home!

Sam and the Sugar Bug. My boys love reading this book and every night when they are reluctant to brush their teeth all I have to say is let me check to see if Randy is playing in there and they run for their toothbrushes! The special effects of the e book really make it cool for the boys.

This book is the best!. I have been reading this book to my three year old daughter for the past month and it has completely changed her lackluster attitude about brushing her teeth. She now reminds me that it is time to brush her teeth to get all of the sugar bugs out.

Great Book for Kids Dental Education. As a dentist, I really appreciate this book. It explains dental treatment to children in a way they can understand and appreciate. It helps me because it way written by a dentist so it is more informative that other books of it's kind. Highly Recommended!!!

Great way to educate on oral hygiene.. I was recently sent the book Sam And The Sugar Bug by Dr. Humairah Shah to review. I received both a hard back copy and and iBook for our iPad. This book is written by an experienced dentist and helps children understand more about dental health. It is a quick read and explains in a simple and understandable way what sugar does to your teeth if you do not brush well. This is a good book for every parent to read to their child when they are learning to brush their teeth without the help of mom and dad or prior to a trip to the dentist for the dreaded first cavity filling. When I sat down to read him Sam And The Sugar Bug, he pointed to the picture of the child brushing her teeth and then looked at me and clacked his own teeth together. "Very good! She is brushing her teeth!" I exclaimed. I hope he is encouraged to see characters in a book brushing their teeth just like we have him do. I believe it makes the whole experience less scary if children can become familiar with the act of brushing as they ease into it. This book is a great way to foster that familiarity. In the book sugar is represented by a nasty green bug named Randy. He makes a home in Sam's teeth and invites friends to play. It is their late night get together that cause Sam to miss sleep with a toothache. I think this is a great way of explained to kids that cavities form when sugar bugs have parties in their mouth because the toothbrush did not send them packing. I don't think the drawings are too scary for young kids and I think the depiction of the bugs in the drawings will help them grasp the concept of brushing away something they can't actually see in real life. I think this book is a very useful tool every parent should have!

I recommend this book for under 7 year olds because when I read it to my 6 year old sister now she been brushing for ages and ages.Randy a "sugar bug" goes inside Sam's mouth he builds his home and breaks his tooth.I do not think 7 year olds would enjoy it but its a really good book thank you author who write this book it's helpful for the young ones.
