Awesome. Very very good book would read over again I love Mötley Crüe always will

One of the best books. This book tells the ups and downs that the band and themselves have throughout there lives! It’s crazy to read about the tears, laughter, blood and sweat they put into there lives and probably into this book. Overall this book is a 10/10! I’m so glad I had gotten to read this amazing book, it’s just like wow! I couldn’t stop reading this book. All I could say is if you’re thinking about reading it, don’t even think just buy it!

The Dirt. Very entertaining book, even for people who don’t like to read- the way it’s laid out will be enjoyable. Just a great all around read!

Pre ordering a book that's 10 years old?. Uh....say what?

Fun stuff. What a great ride through the world of Motley Crüe! Fan of the band or just a fan of rock n roll, you’ll love it. Yes, I’m a fan of the band AND rock n roll. Have fun!

Cruetastic. Growing up them on the crew fan this book was everything that I remembered and more thanks guys

The Dirt. This Was A Easy Read With A lot Of Detail on Motley Crue...Very Interesting & Couldn’t Stop Reading . Can’t Wait For The Movie

Great book. Great book, and interesting story.

Wow. Just release it! It came out in 2001!

Could not put it down!. I have to admit I am not an avid book reader. Books have a hard time catching my attention but this book, however, caught me from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. The story telling comes from the band members themselves and the stories and lives the Crue lived were captivating, jaw dropping, outrageous and heart breaking. Really enjoyed this book and I’m sure it’s partly because I’m a fan. It’s a must read for all Crue fans!

Great!!. Great book

Excellent read. Insightful, engaging, and electric. This book moves quickly & tells some amazing r&r stories from multiple POVs. Be warned, Nikki’s stories behind some of the songs will make you put the Crüe in your most played songs list.

10 of 10. Everything I was looking for none held back

Would not recommend. What a bunch of immature, self-loathing, bratty, self-destructive, selfish punks. A total disappointment to the music industry. I cannot get back the time I wasted in reading this book.

Awesome. Read it twice. Best part of reading it on my iPad was ability to go back forth between the book and YouTube videos of tours they described. Written to make you feel like you were there. Despite all the craziness (understatement of the century) huge respect. Love this band/gang.

Awesome book!. Never was into motley crew music until I read this book. I love how each member has their own story through their eyes. It was amazing, funny, shocking, and sad book to read. Must read!!!!

Simply Amazing. I grew up a Motley fan. They were and still are an inspiration to me as a musician! It was really cool to read about their lives throughout their career. I hope to hear of a book starting where they left off up till their last retirement show. I read The Heroine Diaries first and it was EXCELLENT!! Me being a guitar player, but primarily a drummer, my next read will be Tommyland. Can’t wait to read it! My dream is to meet and become real friends with Tommy Lee. He just seems like an awesome dude and I think we would be good friends! Anyway, read The Dirt. It is a great read!!!!!!

What a Life!. Thanks for taking us behind the scenes and sharing your incredible rock and roll experiences and life. You guys are amazing, and real. Others came before you and others will come after but there always be only one Motley Crue....a collision of heaven and hell and pure rock and roll!

Motley forever. A great read about one of rock's greatest bands.

Well done, if you don’t like them.... While Motley Crue has never been anywhere close to one of my favorite groups, and I haven’t even listened to half their albums, “The Dirt” was quite a well put together autobiography. In addition to the main four members, there are chapters by other people associated with them. The chapters go through each of the four Motley Crue members in first person, with probably more by Nikki Sixx than any of the others. They cover their childhoods and how they got into music, and relationships with their parents and families. Then it goes on to them all in Los Angeles, partying and meeting one another at various places until they wind up all together, thanks to an advertisement in “The Recycler”. Three of the four of them living together in a two bedroom house while they get their band going. For their first two albums and tours they’re all very much together as a group, and the partying is still a lot of fun. After the success of their second album and tour, though, things change…. They’ve got money flowing, long term relationships with women and by then their living mostly separate lives, and partying isn’t fun anymore, they’re addicted to drugs and alcohol. By then they’ve lost the “one for all, all for one” attitude. At various times Nikki and Tommy clearly let on that they’re shocked themselves how far “over the line” some of their drug and sex fueled antics have gone. And while they realize it, they aren’t able to get control of themselves to do much. Chapters by Nikki, Tommy and Vince all have the same written style to them, while the ones by Mick Mars make him stand out as a very different person, which fits as he’s a decade older than the rest, a lot more private, dealing with very different health problems, and put more time in struggling to “make it” than they did. And Vince is easily distinguished from the others, seeming to feel more of an outsider in a different way. The only blonde member, with different interests and without seeming to have a life-long love of music, the rest sort of shunned him after his drunk driving caused a fatal accident. He points out in one of his chapters how he was suddenly, universally hated by fans and critics, which I actually remember as a teenager. On the other hand, the saddest, most tear-jerking chapter is also his, with the death of his four your old daughter to cancer. Towards the end, though, the book gets a bit rushed. Written in 2001, at a time when Tommy Lee was out of the band, and Randy Castillo was drumming, there aren’t any chapters by Castillo or mention that he was suffering from some major medical issues. Overall it’s a well done book. Even if you’re not a fan of Motley Crue it’s a good read about them.

The Dirt. Dirt is the best, never a dull moment book I've ever read!!! My Heart Goes Out to Vince Neil, So Sorry about your baby Girl!

Peter Pan rock and roll. This book begins well. I love the music. Be prepared for 3 guys who never grow up and mature and are spoiled brats at age 35-40, plus one very unfortunate witch who grows older at 3x the normal human rate, but is terrorized by the fact that he has to live forever and hang out with 3 spoiled brats that are unable to kill themselves despite constant attempts. The harrowing story of witch Mars will make you thank god for your own mortality and more than likely help your own relationship with your spouse.

Book to movie 👏. Wow... awesome book, and movie to go with it. Well done 👍 👍👍👍👍

Still a classic. The definitive rock memoir

Amazing. I couldn’t recommend a biography any grated than this one. I love how the same experience is depicted in different people’s eyes.

Best rock and roll bio ever. It's really amazing they survived their own lives. For anyone that remembers the 80's this story is awesome! Half way through the book I remember thinking, there's still half a book to go, how much more could these guys actually do? It's still my favourite and I've read them all!

The Dirt. Love love love this book, and Motley Crüe

Amazing. I am not a reader what so ever. Once I opened this book I could not put it down. Its full of great stories.

Decadence at its best. I've never been a big fan of Motley Crüe but I've always loved tales of meteoric rise in rock and roll. Every crazy thing you've ever imagined rock stars doing was done by these guys and they did it with a sneer and coke-encrusted nostrils. Quite simply, it's the greatest book of debauchery I've ever had the pleasure of reading.

Travelling back to my teenage years. What a trip this book is. I'm not a huge fan of these guys, and this book tells the story as it was, or maybe almost. They get honest by telling you their good and bad moves, looking back with the maturity they acquired at their past even with self derision. A great book. I just wish it could have been more complete, but still they might not remember everything or the book would have been too big.

The dirt. Awesome but they survived especially niki. His addiction almost killed him but he fought back
