Faelorehn: Book One of the Otherworld Trilogy by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson Book Summary

Celtic mythology blends beautifully with the modern world in this contemporary fantasy romance: The Mortal Instruments meets The Iron Fey.

“If you love the tales of the ancient Celt and Fae intertwined with modern romance, then you will love the first book of this trilogy.” ★★★★★

I never heard him come after me and even as I climbed the slope and stumbled onto our shaded back lawn, I didn’t look back. It was like the day the gnomes chased me all over again, but this time I was not escaping some horrible little creatures, I was fleeing from an incredibly good-looking guy who could very well understand me completely. I was either saving myself from that serial killer I always imagined lived down in the swamp, or I had finally gone over the deep end . . .

Meghan Elam has been strange her entire life: her eyes have this odd habit of changing color and she sees and hears things no one else does. When the visions and voices in her head start to get worse, she is convinced that her parents will want to drag her off to another psychiatrist. That is, until the mysterious Cade MacRoich shows up out of nowhere with an explanation of his own.

Cade brings her news of another realm where goblins and gnomes are the norm, a place where whispering spirits exist in the very earth, and a world where Meghan just might find the answers she has always sought.

Riveting. Loved this book. Will read the rest too.

Okay. At the very beginning of the book I was super excited to read it, however as the story unravelled, I became bored. The main character is annoying and useless in my opinion. And the side characters were boring. Personally, this book was a major let down. The author could do much better. I would not recommend this book.

Loved. I totally loved this book

Yawn!. I started out interested, but soon, the unnecessary storytelling and long drawn out descriptions left me begging for the point of the story. Each moment I was anticipating something intense, I was let down. Even at the moment that should've been climatic, the lack of intensity left me so disappointed. Even to the very last page, I was waiting on something to intrigue me about the rest of the series. Nope. Nothing. It's like that friend that talks and talks and never really says anything...yawn.

Drag. This book drags on in a very boring way. Everything in 600 pages should have taken place in less than 30 pages. It's just boring.

Couldn’t put down.. Building suspense. Beautiful history and worlds described. I couldn’t stop reading about the vividly descriptive characters that jumped from the pages.

Wow!. A truly riveting book. This tale will drag you in at the beginning, and leave you clinging for more by the end. The story was woven with great finesse and rich threads of Otherworld magic. A perfect mix of adventure and fantasy, with a dash of romance to completely seal this masterpiece.

Okay... You know how you can tell a book is going to be good by reading the first couple of pages... Well first I'm thinking "give it a chance" but I gotta say, I spent all day reading this and I fell some regret because all it left me with was a head ache. Sure, go ahead an read the book if you have nothing better to do, but I can guarantee I wouldn't recommend this book to a friend..unless I didn't like them very much.

Faelorehn book one. It kept you on your toes. Just enough fantasy and reality that keep you on the edge of your set. Of. Course I now need to wad all three books in this series.

Incredible Books. A must read for lovers of magic.. These books are filled with plot twists and details that paint a vivid picture in your mind. They made me laugh, tear up, and go DAMMIT! I have read all three books in this a series and I am thoroughly impressed. I will be reading the Ghalien series next!(:

Don't waste your time. I read about one book a week and have endured many so-so books without complaining, but this one takes the cake. It is full of unnecessary and dreadfully boring details. The narrator tells what time her dad comes home from work, what the family had for dinner, why she chose to eat in her room, and who drove her to school in the.morning. In my e-reader, it's around 430 pages, and I can honestly say it should've been no more than 200. Nothing seems to happen in this book, and when something exciting does finally happen, it's so watered down with endless details and random side-thoughts from the narrator that you don't really care anymore. There are so many good books out there about fairies and magic. Go read one of those and leave this one alone. It's just awful. Really awful.

Love love love it!. So glad I got this!

Boring. Had great ideas but the main character is an idiot. And it's poorly written. I finished it just to finish it but my gosh, dull is an understatement. It's like reading a kid's English homework.

Loved it. Great read looking forward to reading the rest in the series

A good read. I enjoyed this book.

Great story. Love this story so far and am excited to see how it finishes

Faelorehn Book One. 5/10 Ebook Good idea for the book, but badly developed storyline and characters. Very 2 dimensional. Uninspiring writing style. Very shallow teen inner dialogue. Meagan was adopted into a loving family, but always knew she was a bit different to others. She hears voices. She sees impossible beings that other people can't see. Her dreams are feral. And her eye colour can change. She has learned to hide these things. She is saved from huge corpse dogs by Cade, and he tells her she is not human, she is Fae (Faelorehn) and is from the Otherworld, and an Immortal that is being attacked by other powerful immortals. She falls for him, and by crossing to the otherworld (foolishly tricked by the Morrigan) she has removed the protective gise her parents placed over her.
