The Forgotten by David Baldacci Book Summary

When Army Special Agent John Puller finds his aunt dead in Florida, he suspects it's no accident . . . and as local police dismiss the case, the cracks begin to show in a picture-perfect town.

Army Special Agent John Puller is the best there is. A combat veteran, Puller is the man the U.S. Army relies on to investigate the toughest crimes facing the nation. Now he has a new case--but this time, the crime is personal: His aunt has been found dead in Paradise, Florida.

A picture-perfect town on Florida's Gulf Coast, Paradise thrives on the wealthy tourists and retirees drawn to its gorgeous weather and beaches. The local police have ruled his aunt's death an unfortunate, tragic accident. But just before she died, she mailed a letter to Puller's father, telling him that beneath its beautiful veneer, Paradise is not all it seems to be.

What Puller finds convinces him that his aunt's death was no accident...and that the palm trees and sandy beaches of Paradise may hide a conspiracy so shocking that some will go to unthinkable lengths to make sure the truth is never revealed.

Never Forget. The Forgotten. Great book and love John Puller

Great Pacing . . . Cool Main Character. I’ve followed Baldacci for about 15 years now. His past few books have lacked good character development – not as unique as the Camel Club group – and the dialogue has been pretty cut and dry – that is, not much banter. Baldacci always provides a good plot – this one kept my attention – and minus a few “unrealistic” scenes, I enjoyed it. I think I like John Puller better than Sean King.

The Forgotten. Very imaginative! Action packed!

Great story!. Hard to put down,

Forgotten. Excellent! Felt like I was there with them. Loved reading about towns in Florida which I’m very familiar.

Forgotten. Not a Baldacci book. My take is that it was written or at least co-penned by an associate. Certain themes were bordering plagiarism of a recent book by Lee Child's 61 Hours. I love Baldacci's writing but not this one. Still out of loyalty I' ll give this book 3 stars but 2 would be my unbiased rating. Michael Mog...

Excellent. Page turner

The Forgotten. Absolutely love this series with John Puller as the hero!! Rates right up there with Vince Flynn's hero, Mitch Rapp!! Excellent read!!

May be a Reacher knock off.... ...but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Could not put down! I'm a slow reader and I read it in 2 days!

Awful.. This book was just not good.

Amazing!!!!!. I had just finished reading "Zero Day" and had been obsessed with it. I was praying to find another story with John Puller and I was ecstatic to find "The Forgotten". Equally thrilling, the story once again captivated me and I could not put it down! I just hope the third Puller book comes out very soon! I cannot wait to read what's happening next with this military hero!!!

Excellent!. Perfect mystery with all the attendant characters and surprises; plus, good military language as well as battle execution! Highly recommend.

I liked it!!. Fast paced and thrilling also a quick read!

Good book!. This is an interesting book, definitely worth reading after Zero Day.

A bit of a slower pace than I'm used to.... A bit of a slower pace than I'm used to...

What? Not worth it. David Baldacci was one of my favorite authors. This book is very disappointing. The dialogue is dead. It is not in his usual style. I read it thinking it would get better but it never did.

The Forgotten. Greta read!

Another page turner. Fast moving with enough twists to keep your attention. Love Baldacci!

A nice read. A good read and was certainly kept a good pace and I wanted to get to the end.not one of his tops but fief ineptly a good read.

Great Read!. This was definitely a great read. It's been a while since I read a great book such as this.

A great read!. As always, filled with mystery, adventure, and suspense! Another great Baldacci page turner!

The Forgotten. Another great job of keeping me off balance on this one.

The Forgotten. Baldacchi introduced us to his new lead character Lt. John Puller in Zero Day, a very good novel. I had high hopes that Puller's return in The Forgotten would leave me craving more. That didn't happen. It was almost as though Puller was abandoned by his own creator and farmed out to his staff with Zero Day used as their template. Too bad.

Mr. Was Good

Solid story telling. Starts out slow and builds to a crescendo. At first, its a who done it. Then it’s a who is going to get what they deserve. The characters were terrific. I would like Puller next to me in the fox hole. Extremely exciting final few chapters.

The Forgotten. I loved this book. From the very beginning I couldn't put it down. Kept me on my toes the entire time. It should make a fantastic movie someday.

The Forgotten. A really great read and so believable! It was a definitely a page turner. I have read two of the other John Puller novels and this one was the best!!

The Forgotten. Great read. Exciting adventure and outcome. Six stars ..Some Jack Reacher parallels, but stand alone plot and outcome.

The Forgotten. Great Book Enjoyed every page😊

Top Tier Thriller. Not the first of his books I’ve read (I’ve lost count) but probably the one that has kept me glued to page after page, not wanting to stop reading. Great characters as always, interesting and complex, but genuine and relatable. The story line SHOULD sicken every reader, and will hopefully impact awareness and action against human trafficking that is still present, profitable and evil. It’s a story that needs to be told; perhaps knowledge will prove to be a powerful incentive towards change. Thank you for sharing it through the actions of your usual strong characters and exciting storytelling skills. As always I remain a major enduring fan!

The Forgotten. Wow, what a read! CWO Puller is a great character and the story line for the book was terrific. Once you start to read it the twists in the story makes it hard to put down. The author has several different story lines running at one time and they were not, hard to follow as they were intertwined...well done. It was interesting how the one female character from the first Puller book was reintroduced and became a second hero and she not only helped solve the mystery, but, helped kick some serious butt. The ending and protagonist caught me totally off guard, but, Baldacci did a great job in tying the bad guy personalities and action into a real page turning experience. This book was a great pre-Christmas reading experience and well worth the cost. I am looking forward to another Puller book and a great read.

The Forgotten. Very compelling story ; a page turner.

Eh.. I am constantly irritated by his portrayal of main character as a military robot in this and the last book. Nobody is that dorky. The rest of the book is ok, but it's gonna be awhile before i get another Baldacci book.

The Forgotten. This is my first David Baldacci book and my first iBook purchase. This was money well spent. As a Jack Reacher fan, I found this book to be just as action packed and enjoyable. Am looking forward to reading more David Baldacci books in the future. If you like an action packed book from start to finish, definitely read The Forgotten.

Really enjoyable. I did not like the first book in this series, boring. This one had great action believable story. Really enjoyed

The forgotten. This is the most implausible book I have read in years. I have loved his early books

The Forgotten. David Baldacci. Paradise Florida. Not really as nice as the name implies. Army Special Agent Puller is there to visit his Aunt who raised him for a long time as a child. Unfortunately when he arrives to visit her she is dead. As the clues begin to mount he knows she was murdered. A crooked cop is the culprit. Non stop action, suspense and intrigue. Another excellent read in this series!! My highest recommendation!! Enjoyed immensely!!

The Forgotten. This was a good one for Baldacci. I like the protagonist John Puller and will read the other ones in the series. Subject concerns slave trafficking into the US via the south coast of panhandle Florida

Not bad. Classic Baldacci. Nice twists and turns. Light read, "beachy" book

The Forgotten. Couldn't put it down. Engaged from page one. One of his best!

The forgotten. Very good and well written. Non-stop adventure.

A Reacher or 2. Some very interesting characters, I really enjoyed it!

Fabulous read. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the characters and the plot definitely picked up pace towards the end. Two nights of quick page turning to a great end.

The Forgotten. Another great read from Mr. Baldacci and an excellent second novel with Puller, from Zero Day, as the main character. Can't wait for the next installment!!!!!!

The Forgotten. This is a great book. Hard to put it down. Very suspenseful ! This book should be made into a movie. It would be a big hit.

Another winner. A thriller with heart from the first sentence to the last

Eye Opening. Wow, I had no idea that human trafficking was this bad and it was a real eye opener. I found it rather frightening in some aspects such as the power the wealthy can afford to buy themselves. Very clever in many respects. My first John Puller read and I really did like the main character and his loyalty. Love the trail of clues. I caught on to some of the characters deceptions and I liked the ending. Probably would make a great movie with a lot of action packed in. Also love the strong female characters and the foreshadowing of the evil to come.

Great story!. What a great, action packed story! I liked the characters, and I liked way the story unfolded. The story kept me interested until the last page. I will recommend this book to my friends.

The Forgotten. Ok Im hooked on Puller & cant wait to start The Escape!

Stupid. No wonder we have a gun violence problem in America. Books like this should have a violence rating like the movies so that i know not to buy them. I did not finish third chapter it was so disgusting. Wish iTunes had money back policy.
