Worth the Wait. Beautiful. It took a little patience to download, but this hiccup is highly overshadowed by the textbook’s appeal and accessibility. I’m honestly surprised this isn’t more popular already.

Fun!. Who knew grammar could be so much fun?

Not able to interact. I can play the videos and audio files but when it comes to filling in answers or drawing objects it, clicking save does nothing and drawing doesn’t work at all whether with your finger or the Apple Pencil. For now just going analogue while reading on the iPad Pro. Would love an update to fix this as it’s great otherwise.

Best book for a beginner!. After trying to use the Rosetta Stone unsuccessfully, a friend of mine recommended I try Breaking the Spanish Barrier. Wow! The book’s emphasis on grammar worked well for me. Whereas the Rosetta Stone distracted me with short vocabulary memorization and colorful pictures, I found that this book helped me learn the fundamentals of how to form a complete sentence. I just returned from a trip to Spain and could not have been happier with the results.

Great book for beginners. I expected to learn Spanish when I purchased this book and I’m pleased to say that I’m off to a great start! What I didn’t expect was the amazing images, beautiful layout, and outstanding audio features in the book.

Great, but please update! (last updated in 2017). I just purchased this book last night after hearing good things about Breaking the Spanish Barrier. The book looks great, but it looks like it was last updated in 2017 and some of the information it contains is no longer accurate (political leaders have changed since). **Please update** Otherwise, the book looks fantastic and after reviewing I ended up purchasing all three.

Amazing. Started as a total beginner that knew “Hola,” to someone that can speak after completing the series! Highlights: 1. Vocabulary: Each chapter has vocabulary flashcards that you can use to easily memorize the words related to the theme of the chapter. Know a word? click the green check mark. otherwise, you just toss it back in the pile and try again. 2. Grammar: Each chapter emphasizes a particular aspect of sentence structure. The start of the book begins with the present tense. Later chapters teach you the preterite (past tense) and the imperfect tense. 3. Cultural information: Each chapter focuses on a country from Latin America. There are beautiful pictures and information about prominent culture figures. A must purchase for $14.99!

Samples confusing. I downloaded samples of both level 1 and level 2, and it's quite confusing. Level 2 Intermediate starts with chapter 1 and Level 1 Beginner starts with chapter 9? Are the samples just taken from random parts of the book? I like the layout and the interactive elements, but I wonder if I buy it, will it all download in the correct sequence? What's the deal iTunes?

Cutting edge stuff. This book is great! It really shows off the powers of the iPad while staying true to its pedagogy and making language learning fun for the students. Totally recommend it!

Wonderful!. So much more than a traditional textbook! Everything you need for a full year in one package. This is my new favorite classroom tool.

A Winning Method. This book allowed me to learn how to speak Spanish. It gives you such a firm grasp of the grammar and vocabulary in Spanish that you are able to construct your own sentences instead of trying to memorize phrases or things like that. It's fun, to-the-point, and the directions are clear. I recommend this book to anyone who is serious aobut trying to learn the language.

Great Tool. Breaking the Spanish Barrier has really helped my Spanish. I hadn't studied it since I went to OSU, but this refreshed my memory and has helped me in the work place.

Best Spanish Textbook Series Going. I used these print textbooks to learn Spanish in high school and this series blew away the books I later used in college. Now BTB has really stepped it up with its digital products. The iPad books really show off the capabilities of the iPad. Fun to use. Helpful flashcards, audio, fun videos - overall a great product.

This Book Is Great!. This book is great! I would certainly recommend it for anyone trying to learn the spanish language! We use this boom everyday in my spanish class and it is completely amazing. Sure there are a few bugs and typos here and there, but what else would you expect from a new textbook app, that's why there are updates, but overall this book is amazing!

Breaking the Spanish Barrier 1. I’ve loved your digital books since I first discovered them three years ago. Now I love them more! The latest edition of the Spanish 1 book is phenomenal. The video introduction to each lesson by John Conner is a delightful way to begin each chapter and encourage students to work through it. The newest version of vocabulary flash cards couldn’t be better. I like how students can choose to see English, Spanish, a photo, and/or hear audio.
