He just keeps getting better. I've been a fan of Jim's books since I first was given Fool Moon 12 years ago. It has been fun to watch him develop as a writer over the years. He seems to delve deeper into multiple layers of mythology to introduce new characters to help propel these stories and that is fun, for me at least, to read. I won't go into any plot details, but suffice it to say this is another great Dresden novel. It contains all of the twist and turns we've come to know and love from Mr. Butcher. As I finished the book, I felt a twinge in my heart because I know that Harry Dresden's end game it coming soon. Sure, that's about 9 books from now, but I will miss these characters once this series if over.

All the Dresden Series. I fell in love with Jim Butchers writing immediately, followed closely by a love for Harry Dresden of course! Considering my extensive library of classics through King & Koontz and I'd set every one of them aside to read one of the Dresden Files books or any Jim Butcher book! Can't wait till the rest of the world catches onto what a gem this author is! Love 'em!

about time. it took jim butcher a long time to get this book out but hey it was a really great book. and an adventure that really raps things up to where there is room for another book or more.

How can this have a rating before it's released???. Look, I'm as eager as anyone for this to be released. However, rating the book before then is not only stupid, it's misleading. Apple really needs to overhaul this system and limit reviews and ratings to people who have, you know, ACTUALLY PURCHASED AND READ THE DARNED BOOK! In some kind of quixotic effort at limiting the damage, I'm going to give this book a 5 star rating, just to offset at least one premature and low rating.

Loved it. I just finished reading it and already I consider it to be the most exciting book on the series. Everything is on a bigger scale and Jim Butcher connects the dots with previous plot points in the series. This is a must read for any Jim Butcher fan and if you haven't started to read this series, you need too. My only problem is now I have to wait a year for the next one to come out!

Love Dresden!. Another great addition to the Dresden Series. I always get funny looks when I laugh out loud while reading, and this book had multiples! Now to have Jim write faster, because I already have Dresden withdrawals...

Cold Days. Great read! Only problem it ended and now I have to wait for next book in the series or try to rent space in Jim Butchers head. This series gets better with every book and this one tied up a great many questions.

Fantastic!!!. This is a master stroke in story development and the evolution of Harry Dresden. Harry is my hero! This is compelling and never let's you go. It's another one I'll enjoy rereading!

A great read!. A fan of Urban-Fantasy or someone that likes a new twist on older folklore won't regret buying any book in this series. Humor is just another reason to keep reading.

Cold Days. If you are a Dresden fan this book will not disappoint. I am amazed that this series gets more interesting with every turn and enjoyed my escape into the world of wizard/warden/knight Harry Dresden. Good read.

Meh.... Seems to me that someone else is writing these books and jim is signing his name to them. There was very little witty batter and the entire book, Harry was down and out. You could read the first few chapters and then skip to the last few and not miss anything in between. It was tough to get through Cold Days and this was even tougher. Where's the good story telling and suspense from Death Masks? The only thing keeping this book from getting 1 star was that he did reveal who's behind all the insanity enveloping the world.

At least read the book before reviewing it. . .. Champ&Gerdhr apparently "read" this book and said (in Oct. 2012) it was "more of the same" and gave it one star. Fantastic display of prescience, Champ--as of 11/3/12 it hasn't been released. Although you may have a great future as a palm reader, why don't you stay out of the reviews of books from the future!

Excellent addition to the series. This was an excellent addition to the series and really sets things up for more books. Can't wait till the next one.

Epic!. I love every book Jim Butcher has come out with! One of my favorite authors for sure. His character development is one of a kind. Once I pick up one of his books, I can't put it down!

Welcome back, Dresden!. It's been far too long since we had a book from Jim Butcher. And Harry Dresden is not the type of character you can just leave lying around. Harry comes out of the gate in this book in full fine form, and hits the ground running. The previous book was a bit weak in places, but this one shores up all those weaknesses and gives you a really good story to chew on, with all your favorite characters.

Fantastic.. Like all the others, building and building to a great and epic climax for the next one. Seriously, a fantastic read IMO.

Best series I've read!!. The Dresden books just keep getting better. Cold days lives up to the rest of the series. And is now one of my favorites. Only bad part is the wait for the next!

Cold Days/Jim Butcher. Excellent story! I have never been disappointed by any of the Dresden Files. The characters are fierce, funny, intelligent, frightening & completely lovable or worthy of your wrath. There are so many twists and turns. You never know what direction you're heading next, you just know it's going to be one hell of a ride! I'll be anxiously awaiting the next book. Can't wait to see what everyone is going to get into next!

Wow. I literally could not put this book down. Idiot that I am, I downloaded it in the middle of a class, and I couldn't even put it away long enough to get back to my apartment, so I read and walked and didn't stop reading till the fat lady sang. Jim butcher continues to excel as an author. From the first Dresden book and the earlier parts of the Furies books, he has changed and shaped his writing abilities much as his characters have grown through the series, to the point where the man we're reading now is recognizable mostly in his wise cracks at considerably inappropriate moments. This book is a testament to his growing skills and has set the bar exceedingly hi for future endeavors. As for the book itself, WOW!! The reintroduction of characters, the way their growth has been displayed and the way he considerably screwed things up have created a fantastic landscape of a book. He's given himself a gigantic amount of room to play with in how he wants to take e series and I look forward to whatever he plans to do next. I almost hate myself now for having finished it in one go, wishing instead I would've given myself the time to enjoy it more thoroughly. I guess I'll just have to read it again, and wait impatiently for the next one to come out.

Par for the (excellent) Course. Harry Dresden - wizard for hire, ghost, and now Winter Knight back from the (almost) dead. Cold Days is a superb entry, continuing the Dresden Files tradition of having a gripping narrative that never shies away from lasting consequences - both good and bad - with a climax not quite what you may have expected. I look forward to reading the next volume of this series, and this volume has only reinforced my support of the series to would-be readers.

Amazing storytelling!!. Unpredictable, engaging, and surprising. You generally don't know what's going to happen next, with surprise turns at every corner. After 13 books, you are really invested in these characters, and you begin to feel when something happens to them. Amazing storytelling, I think he's in a class of his own, no one comes close, even JK Rowling

Close to my heart.. There's not many characters that I love as much as Harry. He's the one person I can always relate with. Thank you Mr. Butcher for keeping Harry alive this long.

By far my favorite series in the world. Slower than the other books in the series but still good just not as good as the others

Audiobook version???????. Where is the Audiobook version? Why is it not available the same time?

Droner. Tried reading this one but it was so boring I couldn't finish it. On and on about what is magic and Harry's principals. Same old stuff only more so.

Turning the World Upside Down. Jim Butcher is still wrecking havoc to the Dresden-verse.

Harry's evolution. Each book changes Harry a little. I still like him at the end and want to see what happens next....that is the secret to writing a good book. This is a good story with many layers of plot. I may have to read it again to see the pieces of story that I missed.

Awesome!!!. Read this book in one day. Could NOT put it down!! Now I'm upset that I have to wait a whole year for another one. Butcher definitely delivers AGAIN! I am most definitely a HUGE fan of Jim Butcher.

Already reading it a second time. My wife & I both read Cold Days already, and she is on her second time through the book. As soon as I finish re-reading some of the previous books on a clue-hunting trip, I plan to re-read it as well. Top notch.
