Terrific. I'm reading Heart-Shaped Box next...

Mediocre. Drags on, and it feels like it. I barely finished the book and felt like I could've told you the end after reading the first 20 chapters.

He remembered the face of his father. Just a great book. Looking forward to furture works. The ending was perfect; fullfilling, tender and true to the story.

Very Creative. I thought this book was very imaginative and engaging. It made me think about some underlying themes imbedded in the fiction that might apply in real life. I think living in your head too much does pay a price. I enjoyed the concept of being able to stitch together an "inscape" with real life. I would love to see this book in a movie format!

A truly amazing horror story that also takes you back to your childhood.. I'm always a little sad when I finish reading a really good book. I always try to drag out the last remaining chapters just so I can be immersed in the story longer. Joe hill manages to write a horror Novel that is suspenseful & at the same time forces the reader to look back upon their own childhood. Reading this book has makes you fondly look back upon being a kid and reminds you just how important and wonderful a child's imagination can be. In a way, after reading this book I almost feel reacquainted with my inner child. So thank you for that, Mr. Joe hill.

Wonderful read. Once you pick this book up you can't put it down. He definitely remembers his fathers face.

Incomplete download. I am having the same issue as other reviewers where the last page in a chapter is missing text. Please fix.

What a ride!. The apple certainly did not fall far from the tree with this fantastic fantasy ride into another realm of reality. Joe Hill is a great storyteller in his own right but does have a very similar writing style to his father's. I loved this book. If you are in to Stephen King you will most certainly love this tale! A+

Don't be dumb, it's not missing pages. The last sentence of each chapter finishes in the new chapter. Duh

Delightful. Joe Hill may be the son of Stephen King, but he more than holds his own. While the styling and pace may seem similar to King, the imagination and wit is all his own. I have enjoyed every book Joe Hill has written and this is no exception. Face paced with intriguing characters, it's worth the read.

Excellent.. Get this book and I promise, you will not be disappointed. You will love the main characters and root for the hero. This will become one your top favorite books that you have read.

Beauty in Horror. The best audiobook I've ever heard of any genre. This didn't seem to be a horror book as much as a lovely work of literature about relationships and growth and change that had elements of horror. Wonderfully narrated and beautifully written.

I just returned from Christmasland. I felt as if I had seen a ghost. The ghost of Stephen King, as he had written as a young author. A fresh and remarkable feeling, like finding a bright new toy under a Christmas tree (like your first new bike). Thanks for the ride .... J

Pages Missing. I just recently downloaded this book and the last page before a new chapter gets cut off. Anyone know of a fix or has this problem been addressed yet?

Guys, nothing's missing!. The sentences that seem to cut off? The end of the sentence is the title of the next chapter. Phenomenal book, as per Joe's usual. I love his writing!

NOS4A2. A great read! Enjoyed knowing the King gene has been passed down to another level of 'Kingness'. Liked the other Joe Hill books, but this one reached new heights! Thank you for the entertainment, Joe.

Fantastic Book!!!. Amazing book. Great characters, great story, edge of your seat suspense, great ending - this book has it all. Highly recommend if your heart can take it.

FYI.... For all the people saying they are missing the words at the end of some chapters, try using the chapter title on the next page to complete the sentance. All those missing sentences end in the place that the next chapter takes place. I don't think it's a mistake.

Excellent!. As I'm reading I was thinking "wow- this is shades of Stephen King!" Little did I know it's his son!! The book is excellent! Suspenseful and just a bit scary. Loved every page.

Good story, slightly flawed execution. I love Joe Hill and thoroughly enjoyed Heart-Shaped Box and Horns, but this book didn't quite achieve the lofty levels those others did. The story is imaginative, incredible, and a fertile ground for exploration, both real and imagined. Unfortunately, it's about 150 pages too long. I think an editor with an eye on the compelling kernel of the story could've really trimmed a lot of the unnecessary repetition and exposition and made it a ramrod of a novel that runs at a blistering pace, much like the protagonist's Triumph motorcycle. It's good — and at times even VERY good — and I can definitely recommend it, but just be ready for some doldrums.

As much a master of horror as his father. This book rolls along with a great cast of memorable, likeable characters. Even the bad guy has his insane charm. A wonderfully unique horror tale.

Caution!. The book itself might be good, but the end of each chapter is missing! Don't buy until they fix this!

Awesome journey!. I am on pg 86 and love it so far. I have found it to be engaging and scary good. The apple falls within the realm of the tree for sure! For the person missing sentences, read it again, if you KEEP reading you will find a fluid end you are looking for. Sometimes you have to look beyond the obvious! A devoted fan of thirty plus years! Joe Hill has a wild imagination. This the second Joe Hill book I’ve read. Both were fantastic. First was The Fireman. Great reads that we’re hard to put and keeps you thinking long after you’re done. If you like Steven King you will like Joe Hill.

Fantastic book. While reading the book I thought this is sort of Stephen King"ish" only 100 times better. Then I looked up the author after I finished. I was surprised to see the relation. While I enjoy Stephen Kings books I've never really liked his writing style. I LOVE Joe's writing style. Maybe it's because I'm of a different generation - a millennial, but the way Joe brings things to life is brilliant. He's not too wordy in his descriptions. He is able to pick just right words. I loved this book from beginning to end. I just have to add that for the people who gave bad reviews because they thought the words were cut off are complete idiots!

Fascinating ride!!!. Fascinating ride!!!... That's the best way to describe this book. I loved the creativity and the way the author narrated the story. It's full of suspense, action, emotions and magical places. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Thanks Joe Hill for this experience!!!

I’m not sure. I don’t know if I can say I liked this book or not. The main protagonist was very difficult to like, which was part of her character traits, but all I ended up doing was rooting for the “bad guys” more. Speaking of, the antagonists are the far more interesting characters in this book and I would have enjoyed much more backstory on Charlie Manx. The ending of the book that seems like a happy ending does not seem happy at all to me but is actually pretty messed up. Also there were a few things that I thought were left unresolved by the end. Otherwise, I found this to be suspenseful and very fun.

Disappointed. Was excited for this book and was severely let down. I feel this author may be benefiting from his fathers shadow. The read seems to drag on with to many descriptions of surroundings and the more I read the more I become. annoyed with the cheesiness of the protagonist and the idea of Christmas Land. Still struggling to finish the book as it has become a drag to pick up. Maybe his other books are better but this was not a good read In my opinion.

Crap. Not worth reading. Too long. Tries to keep you guessing about reality vs psychosis. In the end no answers. Just made up nonsense. Needed a better ending.

Loved this!. Officially hooked on Joe Hill book. I previously read Heart Shaped Box and it was so good I chose to read another Hill book. This had been on the edge of my seat! Definitely a great book. Can’t wait to watch the show.

This is the worst book ever!. I wish I hadn’t wasted my time or money. This book is overly violent and nonsensical. It’s premise is ridiculous and idiotic!

Missing Text. I was pulled in to the story immediately, I was really excited, and at the end of the first chapter the text cuts off mid sentence. Flipping ahead, every chapter has missing text. Even worse is that I probably won't ever get a refund either. Go buy the book. Don't trust this crap app.

Like this better than Heart-Shaped Box. Like this better than Heart-Shaped Box which started well but ended abruptly in my view. This book had a good story-line and pace to it.

NOS482. Just finished this book and I thought it had a new take on the Vampire genre. Enjoyed his writing and this book had some seriously good writing, I wasn’t aware he was Stephen Kings son when I began reading, apparently the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Good but.... Hear Shaped Box may have set the bar high for me. This had moments but ultimately felt a bit disappointing. I did throttle through every page when i sat down with it. i wish i could give it more stars, but ...Also a little too early to start to create your own Hillverse there Joe.

N0S 4A2. Driving home and having a Rolls Royce in the rear view, made me look twice, it wasn't a wraith but I must say it was still quite unnerving. Especially when I was nearing the end of the book while camping up at Alice lake, we had a troop of cub scouts, so having all these little kids running around, all that was missing were ornaments in the trees, and Christmas music on the radio. It was like reading a book and my environment changed to suit. My own personnel Inscape. Good job Mr. (Hill) King.
