Stone Barrington is no stranger to schemes and deceptions of all stripes—as an attorney for the premier white-shoe law firm Woodman & Weld, he’s seen more than his share. But when he travels to Europe under highly unusual circumstances, Stone finds himself at the center of mystery that is most peculiar, even by his standards. Overpriced. Story is good, as usual, but for an e book, very overpriced. $2.00 more for a printed copy.

Not the best.... but better than they have been. Some new characters added some life and Stone is getting back to his old self instead of a sad old man

Mildly entertaining. Unfortunately mr woods is and continues to be in a rush to complete his books without concern for anything but the publish dates. This started off very well, interesting story but digressed halfway through into a nonsense ending. I'm continuing to be quite perturbed at Stuart or Stewy? As he takes his readers for morons over the past few years. He is a much better writer than he has shown lately.

Unintended Consequences. Another case of Mr. Woods "calling it in". Every other book seems to be a case that perhaps he has an I.R.S. quarterly due and he takes thirty pages of plot and stretches into two hundred and fifty pages. Publish less often with better work, you know how.

Unintended Consequences. There has never been a book of his that I didn't love. I'm addicted. I love all the characters. I miss Elaine.

Unintended Consequences. Another great Stone adventure from Woods. Good plots and some humor. Proper ending, except Woods lets a bad guy escape at the end.

Unintended Consequences. Another excellent Stone Barrington book...can't get enough of him. Faced paced and reads well. Stone's life is ever evolving. Stuart Woods proves yet again that he is an amazing author!

Suspenseful to the Last Word. Just finished this book: I have to say it's one of my favorites. I loved it because just when I thought I knew what was happening Stuart Woods threw in another twist. This book will keep you guessing until the last six or so action packed chapters. Hands down this book is a must read. I would recommend it to anyone who loves suspense.

Unintended consequences. Much better than the last book new arrival of Fred will be interesting get Stone back to being the detective and leave out the bed hopping It gets boring book after book. Story much stronger enjoyed the plot worth a read.

Great Book again. Always a great book by Mr. Woods

Classic Stone Barrington. Of course, early books featuring Stone Barrington are always going to be my favorites. But I enjoyed this one.

Unintended Consequences. Ok read. Lots of typos and grammatical errors. No background on the death of Arrington to tie the stories together. A money book, not a keeper book.

Disappointed. Finished this book, but easy to put down, unlike his previous novels. Disappointed in this one.

Excellent. This is the first book I have read by Stuart Woods and enjoyed it immensely. I love the characters and their interrelationships. Stone Barrington is a much different leading character than you typically find in fiction.

Yes, it's a "page-turner"!. If you're looking for great literature, this isn't it. If you want a rollicking good yarn, you've arrived at the right place. The plot is fanciful as it gets, but lots of fun. Highly recommended.

Just couldn't get into it. Just didn't enjoy this book. Plot was unrealistic, and dialog not believable. Helicopter gunship fights over the city of NY, with the gunner a "cultural attaché" to the US embassy in Paris (read CIA), just didn't make any sense. Likewise, the main character who has no clue what 40 degrees F is in Celsius, when the guy spends so much time in Paris that the maitre d' of a famous restaurant knows him by sight again doesn't make the story believable. I was generous with the two stars, but I did manage to finish the book.

pdub1950. A stupid book with cardboard characters and non-existent plot. Don't waste your money or time.

Unintended consequences. It has a silly theme, suitable for decorticated readers. Sad I wasted time and $$ in it. Reads like a Zagat guide of places to have dinner in Paris and NYC. Its a list of the luxuries afforded only to few billionaires in this world. Advice: Don't read it, stupid..!!

Disappointed. I have become increasingly disappointed with Woods' development of Barrington's character. Ever since his involvement with Arrington it has become nothing more than a journey into the life of the "Rich and Happy 1%" (a.k.a. Mike Penn) lived vicariously through Stone and his cohorts. The plot development is minimal. The story proceeds through one business deal to another, all within the unreachable stratosphere of the 1%. Get real!!! I used to be a big fan, but I believe this to be my last Barrington adventure. I much prefer the more down to earth Harry Bosch, Alex Cross or Jack Reacher. What is Woods thinking?!?
