Ms. K. It was a good read and moved smoothly. The only downside was there was too many characters and names to keep up with. The ending was okay would have liked to see the last person taken down.

Silken Prey. By boysmumas This novel had it all. Familiar characters, twists and turns and a great plot. Love how Sandford brings Lucas's personal life and his BCA work together in such a nice package. Lucas includes Weather and Letty in his crime solving and listens to their ideas. And of course Virgil Flowers, what more can I say? Great read.

Tell the story. Interesting story - if he would only tell it without his liberal, left wing crap. There are very few authors that know how to simply tell a story. This is why I spend hours in a bookstore trying to find fiction doesn't preach their "progressive" ideologies to me.

Silken Prey. This book was fantastic!! Keep them coming Mr. Sandford!! Being from Minnesota originally, it's nice to know that I can follow along and know where everything is! Great read!!!!

Silken Prey. I suppose I could say this was just another John Sandford novel; in fact, I can say that. WOW! Trying to keep up with all the puzzle pieces was hard enough and then suddenly the light goes on and I could see what he was seeing. This was a wonderful 'reunion' of Sandford's great characters. Having Davenport, Flowers, and Kidd working together all with their balancing act on the edge of legal. I will never, ever get tired of Lucas Davenport. Sandford doesn't try to make him the buy who can 'save' humanity from itself, rather he's the guy who shows you humanity, with all its scars, blemishes and quirks is still good. Then there are the bad guys. Sometimes Sandford's bad guys have good qualities. The REAL bad guys this time didn't really have redeeming qualities. Sometimes good people can do "bad" things for good reasons or at least understandable reasons. Personally, if nothing more, Sandford has once again shown that people are complex and while good and evil can be pretty clear--arriving there can cross lines. I look forward to the next Flowers' novel in the fall, but Lucas will always be my hero.

Top of the prey series... By far the best book yet n the Prey series... Loved the return of all the players....especially the Kidd's. Well done Mr Sandford... :)

Like this one a lot!. I've read all Sanford's books, some are better than others and I generally like them. But I think this one is a winner. Like the plot! Lately I come to the conclusion that politicians, from left to right, including the middle, are all dirty and selfish. Power and money are hard to resist. Ok may be some are not (yet), but they will if they stay in the system long enough. This book let me have a good laugh at the politicians.

Great cat and mouse novel. It doesn't have the rough and tumble action of other Lucas novels,.. But a good political cat and mouse plot. Worth the read !

Great Novel for a Sandford Fan. As a huge John Sandford fan I enjoyed every page of Silken Prey. I have read all the Prey Novels, Virgil Novels and Kidd Novels. I was so happy to see him utilize so many characters from other books. Especially Kidd and LuEllen.

Love John Sandford. Up to his usual tricks with Lucas Davenport, this latest entry is no slouch. Couple of the usual plot twists make this another great read! Thanks for more memories, now get started writing the next one!!!

Silken Prey. John Sanford never misses a beat! I believe I have read everything he has written, and starting one of his books is like catching up with an old friend. Outstanding. I have just about all his books. This is top 5.

So worth reading. I always enjoy the Lucas Davenport character and enjoy this series of books. This was one of the best. I'm starting to feel that I know these characters and would like to hang out with them. Fun stories.

Solid but not his best. I've read every Prey novel and all of the Kidds. I had heard he planned to merge the two and this is it. A good read and an interesting new villain who reminded me of Carmel Loan. But it lacked the breakneck pace of other Prey novels. With about 50 pages left I predicted the ending. That doesn't mean it was a bad book, it just didn't satisfy me as much as most of the Prey novels did. Still a must read for any Sandford fan. Lucas continues to get better with age. Looking forward to the next installment.

Silken Prey. I have read and liked several Sanford books. However this one was very boring, but I stayed with it expecting something interesting to happen to no avail. Like a soap opera, I could skip several pages and not miss a thing. Way to much detail.

Silken Prey. Talk about redundancy! I mean how many times can you tell the same thing over and over like the reader is dense! I guess it’s just about filling up pages? What a milk job this was…slow and repetitive..and no closure on anything. Shame on you sir!

Silken Prey. The best one yet by Sandford

Meh.. First time I've read this author. I guess I'm in the minority, but I found this story to be rather dull and lacking in suspense. We're told midway through who is guilty and how the crime was committed, then it's just a matter of waiting to see how our hero solves the case. No twists or surprises, just plods through to the end. I also had a hard time with the computer geek who could hack into any database or security system in the world with no effort, and his wife, the young, crafty gal from nowhere who teaches herself to be a world-class jewel thief. Perhaps Sandford has written so many books in this series that he has exhausted the theme. I felt like I had just watched a mediocre TV crime show. Maybe other books in the series are better, but I didn't really care for any of the characters in this one. Not a terrible read, just kinda blah.

Awesome. One of his best Prey books yet!

5 stars!. Love all the prey books and John Sandford never disappoints. Go in order and start with the first (Rules of Prey) if you want to read this one. One of the best things about these books is 'growing' with the characters and Sandford does an amazing job of giving thoughtful and solid insight to the characters' lives.

Best yet. Sandford's best book yet. Great read and blend of his characters. Enough of Lucas, but more of the others.

Remarkable run of consistency. I keep thinking I'll read a Sandford book that comes up short and they never do. He is one of the most consistent solid writers today. Immersing myself back in Davenport's world is like coming home. This is a great book that hits all the right notes and never misses a beat. Highly recommend this one.

The whole "prey" series. All the "Prey" series of books by Mr. Sanford are exceedingly well written. The charterers in them are human, with the main characters in the books acting with the common sense and personal integrity we all wish our public officials and employees had in real life.I only hope that Mr Sandford is drawing some inspiration for them from real people he has known.

Silken Prey. I am a fairly new reader of Mr. Sandford's novels, having 4 previous Lucas Davenport stories. Completely amazed that I cannot put the book down until I finish it. The stories are complex, but written in a way that you can follow and relish!

Silken Prey. Sanford puts Davenport and Kidd together and the interplay between his two protagonists highlights his proficiency in detailing the modern alpha male, often by implication. Subtle information exchanges, at least one of which made me laugh out loud. And I want to see more of Lauren, Kidd's larcenous wife. A classic for Sanford fans.

Silken Prey. Like a fine wine, Sandford and Lucas Davenport get better with age. As good as any of his novels. This one has it all, including two of my favorite Sandford characters, Kidd and LuEllen. I rationed it, limiting myself to a single chapter per sitting.
