ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I cannot even tell you how bad the ending was. It was like the author got lazy. Spoiler Alert: Tris Dies I am not sad about this but it is a "and it was all a dream" type ending. SPEND MONEY ON SOMETHING ELSE

DONT READ. I’m just going to say, DONT READ THIS BOOK. Spoiler alert: Tris actually dies, and it is really depressing. Read the first two but NOT this one.

Really good but get ready to cry.. The book was amazing. It was always interesting. I know everyone is sad about the ending ( I cried too. )but it’s something that I have never seen before. I wished she did change the last bit ( the movie did change it) overall it’s an amazing book.

Good beginning bad ending. Okay so this book was good but not as good as the others. It had a really bad ending if you read it you’ll know what I’m taking about. Even though it wasn’t as good as the others I still suggest that you read this book.

SPOILER ALERT!. Ok. I love this book, don’t get me wrong, but the ending🤨. WHY!!!! She has survived being shot before, why now! Why does she die!!!!!! 😤😤😤😤! I feel like Veronica Roth could have made a better ending. Honestly, would Tris really die THAT easily? I think not.

Seriously Roth?. I was very disappointed with the end of the book (spoiler)why, why kill tris??!? That’s just so so lame!! Isn’t the whole point of books that they save the day (tris in this story) lame! But I did enjoy the other books and this book but if the end was better I would give it a four (just because I only gave the hunger games a five ;)

Nooooo. *SPOILERS AHEAD* This book was so sad! Why did they have to kill tris off it just seems so wrong! And then in the epilogue why did Tobias and Christina have to get together!? It doesn’t seem like something either of them would do regardless of her being dead. I do have to say I love the way that the author wrote this book. No matter how much I didn’t like the ending I like the way it gave us closure. But if I’m being honest I like the first two better and would rather watch the movie of allegiant than read the book since true stays alive in the end of the movie. But overall good book but bad ending.

Sad, but amazing.. I didn't enjoy the ending, but it was cleverly written, full of action and tragedy. No spoilers, but I have cried over the ending many times. However, I respect Roth's writing, and she does it well. Be sure to break out the tissues! But please enjoy and don't judge the book based on its ending!

Mixed feelings. The book was written beautifully and I loved it until the end. It is hard to see the person you read 3 whole books to understand and love, die. I cried through the rest of the book after that. Although it was great, I am forever scarred with sadness. ❤️

Meh. This book was boring. The ending though... Books are my life . Tris became like a friend. I can forgive Ms. Roth for killing Lynn and Marlene and Uriah because I never really liked them. I wouldnt have beeen too sad if Tobias died ( I wouldve felt for Tris though) . But Tris.... no. WHY?! I was so sad. Also, am i the only one who thinks they should turn divergent into an anime?? Just saying. I hoped the ending would have Tris wake up a couple days later and then Tobias would propose and she would say yes and then they would get married in the pit and then they would have a kid named Will.

Amazing. The book was amazing in itself. But the ending as others say “was bad” about killing one of the main characters in the story. But I ah e to say that Veronica made a great choice about the ending and about switching the point of view for the chapters in the story. The people out there who say that they hated the book, you guys are wrong. Good job Veronica and please keep writing.

Pretty good. It was a pretty good book but just not as special as the others. The book was definitely better than the movie (Allegiant movie was not so good..) but I had to read it to finish the series. Spoiler alert! Please don’t read this if u haven’t read the book alreadyyy The characters were so great and I was invested in them. At the end when she dies I was probably crying for more than 2 hours. It was sad but also understandable why she decided to include it in the story. I understand these 1 and 2 star reviews but if a book made you cry for more than an hour it’s a good book and the author is a very good writer. She made me feel for all the characters when she died. She could put me into the characters shoes. That’s why I think this is a really great series. But this book wasn’t as good as the others but I would definitely still read this series again!

😁➕😭. Ummm…….apart from the fact that I cried for a thousand hours, this was good. Tris should not have died, that was just killing her off for no reason. I used to like how tris was on the road to overcoming her grief. Should have ended different but still five stars.

I loved this book : terrible ending. Tris dies please re write this book I was about to cry but the ending was a bummer I wish she would have lived I loved it but don't make your books so depressing Roth

Great book. So, first, I understand where all the bad reviews are coming from. But I’ll get to that later. Allegiant is a great book with an intriguing plot and deep, interesting characters. I would 100% recommend Allegiant to anyone who loves dystopian novels. ⚠️ WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD! ⚠️ So about those 1-star reviews. I get it. I am not kidding when I say a cried for an hour after the end, but I think it was the right choice. It was what Tris would do. It’s brave, it’s selfless, it’s the smart choice to save everyone—it’s everything she is. Now, here’s where it gets a bit nerdy (I’m sorry in advance). I actually genuinely love Four’s character arc. Through the three books, we see him go from repetitively going through his fear landscape nigh-on obsessively, fixating on his fears and always striving to do even better to now. Accepting his past and letting it go. It’s a powerful message, that no matter what, things will change. And that’s why this book is so great.

The Ending Is Horrible. So I’m in love with Divergent and Insurgent having read both around 5 times. But Allegiant broke my heart. You get so attached to the character and she gets shot. Could you think of nothing else? Why shoot her? WHY? I need an explanation. Veronica Roth ruined her own book in the last five chapters. The begging and middle are up to the standards set by the first two but I was woefully underprepared for the ending. Tobias didn’t deserve that and neither did Tris. It’s like creating a masterpiece worthy of Picasso and Da Vinci and all of the other famous paintings and then throwing splotches of black paint on it. HOW COULD YOU? I’m convinced Roth has no feelings and only wants to play with ours. The ending was downright disappointing.

ALLEGIENT IS SOOOOOOOOO GREEEEAAATTTTT!!!. TOBIAS IS SO AMAZING, but the end is saaaaaaaaaad😔😔

Nope. (⚠️WARNING⚠️ SPOILERS LIE AHEAD). Really Roth? REALLY?? How in the world would Tobias and Christiana get together?? And you just HAD to kill off Tris. Disappointment to the whole series. She does all of that and you kill her off with a gun. -_- I can't even. But I swear, if Bristlefrost and Rootspring don't end up together in the next Warrior Cat book, I'm going to officially lose it. GRRRRRR

Okayish. I liked the book overall but the ending was very sad. I wish it didn’t end like that.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Mad at the ending. This is a 99.99 book the only this is that tris dies but otherwise it’s amazing read page 414 and go to end of the chapter and read some of Tobias for a dug :)

Why. Why did you have too kill tris like that l. All of the other parts of the book are awesome, but the end is horrible. I would have gave it five stars but the end was just terrible.

Awsome. It was a great book but Veronica Roth could've put tris hiding and crying and then Tobias catches her and then they are healed.

Loved the first two, but.... All right. I loved Divergent and Insurgent, but this book was AWFUL! It wasn’t just the ending that was bad, the whole plot felt weird and messy. I’ll admit, the idea of Chicago just being an experiment to correct a mistake of the past is a fascinating one, but its execution, as I said before, was messy. Along with this, it felt like throughout the book Veronica Roth was scraping at the bottom of the barrel for a storyline. I know I said I think the idea of Chicago being an experiment is fascinating, and I do, but it felt so forced. The only part that felt natural was the romantic aspect of the story. As for the ending...well, it was lacking. Tris dying was upsetting, but I could have accepted it. However, the part I absolutely despise is when Tobias ends with Christiana. They have absolutely nothing in common! I don’t care if they “both loved Tris,” that’s not a reason to get together! Due to this part of the ending, I can’t ever read this series again.

Atrocious. The fist 2 books are splendid but this last one was a waste of my money.

WHY. Gutter series

Amazing but sad. I loved and hate this book Veronica Roth broke my heart but I would still recommend it to anyone while I don’t particularly like the author she is still a great writer and made me feel things and In my opinion that’s what makes a great writer

😭. Absolutely loved it. Broke my heart at the end... was NOT expecting that. For those who haven’t read this book yet: once you get to the last 5-10 chapters, be prepared with a box of tissues beside you😭 one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Wonderful. I loved this whole series so much, it has become very close to my heart, but the ending is heartbreaking, and not at all expected. I wish it wouldn’t have ended the way it did but it was a good read, but it was also very heartbreaking, an i was very emotional lol.

Why?!?. This book was great, but I hated the ending (R.I.P) The story was told in two perspectives just so —— could die?!? Why?!?

Had a hard time getting thru this one. Not as good as the first two

Ending (Spoiler alert!). Everyone says the ending is terrible, but I kinda liked it. I always hate when a main character dies, especially one I love as much as Tris! But the way she died, sacrificing herself for her brother (who ABSOLUTELY did not deserve it) was sooooooo amazing. It’s just like Jesus’s sacrifice for us, and I totally adore the Christian themes throughout the books.

Yay...she’s (spoiler: DEAD). ‘Nuff said.

🤯. Okay so I know it’s very upsetting that Tris dies….it took me some time to correspond to that….but over all I think it was a very good book. I loved how Tris picked Tobias and said something like he was her stone and she was the sword. I was so shocked to find that the ENTIRE thing was a EXPERIMENT! Over all I am pretty satisfied, though still a little upset over Tris’s death.

Absolutely terrible. The first books were good but this is awful. I couldn’t finish it because it was so boring

WHY VERONICA WHY. veronica roth: ༼ つ ◕◡◕ ༽つ kiLL aLL tHe ChArAcHtErS MISS VERONICA WHY THE HECK DID YOU KILL TRIS AND URIAH??? FIRST OF ALL: TRIS IS THE FRICKIN MAIN CHARACHTER AND SECOND URIAH WAS LIKE EVERYONES FAVORITE CHARACHTER i have another question miss veronica WHEN YOU KNEW ALL THE HATE COMMENTS THAT WOULD COME WITH YOUR HORRIBLE ENDING, WHAT LOGIC WERE YOU USING WHEN YOU WERE LIKE“ OH I KNOW LETS MAKE CHRISTINA AND FOUR MAKE OUT“ LIKE MAM WHAT THE HECK! MY LOGIC TEACHER IS WONDERFUL I WILL GIVE U HIS # AND MAYBE U WILL HAV SOME COMMON SENSE!!! GUYS SOMEBODY UPDATE WIKIPEDIA BECAUSE ROTH MADE HISTORY: NEVER HAVE I EVER LIKED WHEN A MOVIE COMPLETLY CHANGES THE PLOT FROM THE BOOKS AND LIKED THE MOVIES BETTER BUT HERE WE ARE!!!!! ALSO NEVER HAVE I EVER ROASTED A BOOK OVER AN OPEN FIRE AND WATCHED IT BURN BUT YA HERE WE ARE ps i love divergent and insurgent still but like come onnnnnn y did u ruin it -sami rubinson da one and only

1,000,000,000/5 STARS!!!!!!!!!. THE SERIES WAS SO AMAZING!!!!!!!! I ACTUALLY CRIED WHEN I FINISHED IT!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Hated the ending ruined the series. I loved divergent , insurgent was good and allegiant sucked. Tris DIES! It is sooo depressing I cried for hours!

Insurgent. This book is the definition of perfection. The best thing about it is that it isn’t though. None of the characters are perfect and all of them face challenges. Could not put this book down. I don’t think you’ll be able to either. Veronica is an amazing author. Thank you!

Grieving for fictional characters. Like some others, I have never written a review but had to for this one. The ending of this book was devastating. I disagree with those that say it was terribly written, but agree that if you loved books 1&2 you should not read this book. If you want to finish the series, read an alternate ending online from chapter 49 on. Otherwise you will be severely disappointed.

Hated the stupid ending. Veronica, you literally ruined the ending. I’m going to write my own so I don’t have to cry over your horrible ending. I was literally invested in Tobias and Tris. You have no feeling at all if you didn’t cry and if you did you could have prevented it.

I. AM. SHOCKED.. WHAT HAPPENED WHY IS TRIS DEAD I WISH IT COULD HAVE BEEN CALEB I HATE HIM

It was not the best ending. This book was a terrible ending to the series. I like to read through the character’s eyes but with so many switching perspectives it was hard to keep track of. All of the unexpected “shock moments” just left me depressed for days. It also slowed down the initial build up of the story.

:/. Really enjoyed.. Until the ending

This is a really good book. This book is a really good book, and I think the rating that it has now is underrated in many different ways

S***est ending ever. Enough said

Terrible Ending. The ending was terrible! The first two books were amazing, and I loved the first half of the book, but I hated the ending! I think Roth was trying to be more realistic, but it just took the heart right out of the book. I was really looking forward to Tris and Tobias being together, and was very disappointed.

And. *CONTAINS SPOILERS* To everyone complaining about the ending, I thought it was a beautiful way to end the story. Tris was always finding a way to be selfless and be someone who wasn't afraid to do what was best for everyone around her. Because in the end, Tris is someone who wasn't going to stand around while the people around her suffer. She sacrificed herself for everyone, and I thought that was beautiful. A very unexpected way to end the story, but a lovely one. It was sad, and tugged at the heart strings, but it made the story much more compelling.

Really. Keep the chapters in your books the same -Brylynn Marshall

Loved it. Broke my heart.. If you are reading this and you hated the book because of the ending, STOP. You are not the writer of the story, you don't get to make the decisions. You should have known what you were getting into.(Internet)Plus, instead of the ending, didn't you like the rest of the story? If not, well move along. Read other books. Anyway, excuse me while I go and read listening to Hamilton.

I-. I have no words. Why? What was the point? Honestly, I’m so tired of authors trying to do a dumb “twist” ending. It just tells me you were too lazy to write a good ending. If you are reading this, I’m just gonna tell you this: all the time you spent reading these books and getting invested in the characters was wasted. You will never get that time back, so save yourself some pain and don’t read this, because I can sum it up in a sentence: Tris’e life was a lie and, big shocker, she sacrifices herself for a bunch of people. She dies. Yep. So please, I beg of you, save some money and time and don’t read the book. Watch the movies. As standalone movies without comparison to the books, they are really good.

😃😊☺️😨😬😳😢😪😱😱😭😭😭😭😰😰😥😪😭😓😓😫😩😢. Yeah. I think my emoji's say enough. Loved it!! Not going to say any spoilers, but if you don't mind being depressed for a week or two, then this is a good book for you!

Amazing. A very good book it kept me up all night

Tobias' PMS. While it was still good, it's probably my least favorite of the series. I'm not really a fan of Tobias' point of view. He comes across as overly whiney and feminine. But dat ending tho

Terribale Ending. It is one of the worst endings i have ever seen in a series. Great all the way to the end and then nothing.....

Did you steal the story from someone.... The first 2 books were good then it's like V. Roth did not know what to write, I will not read another book by this author. I am not going to see the movie, no reason to, as the last book was so poorly written. It's almost like not the same person that wrote the first 2 books. Nothing brave about you V. Roth...

SO GOOD!!!!!!. THIS IS SUCH A GOOD BOOK MUST READ!!!! IF YOU START READING THE DIVERGENT SERIES YOU WILL INSTANTLY FALL IN LOVE WITH IT! BUT THE ENDING WAS SO SAD!

Disappointing. The first two books were amazing, but this one was not like the others. I feel like the author just pushed the story to far and it ended up with the main character dying. The first two you should definitely read but this last one will be a bit disappointing compared to the other ones. I would say the divergent series probably should have been raped up after the second book but that is just my opinion. It was still well written it was just pushed to far and it was to much to comprehend.

Allegiant. Loved it... An incredible ending to an amazing trilogy...

Awful. This last book makes me wish I never even started reading this trilogy. So unbearably bad. Horrible ending with an all around "blah" third and final book. Disappointed doesn't begin to explain how I feel. I could go on and on..

The ending...Arg!. The ending.........WAAAAH *burst into tears*. Can't believe the series is over!!

AMAZING!!!. This book ripped my heart from my chest, but I loved it all the same!

Allegiant. Very disappointed! I thought this book was slow and painful. The author didn't have to milk the story. I was expecting the same fast paced, exciting writing that was evident in the first two books of this series. I waited impatiently for the finale of this interesting and thought-provoking concept only to be hit with the equivalent of a brick wall. I whipped through the first two books but it has taken me months to plod through this mess.

I like it but.... The ending of the book shocked me allot!

Sad face not happy. Not to sure I like the end really really disappointed not even sure I want to see the movie now. Sad face

I loved everything but... The whole series was perfect and I loved reading the books. I read everything- Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant, Four, and Free Four.. I loved all of it. The only thing I wish was different was the ending of Allegiant. I feel like it was rushed, and I think it would have been amazing if an alternate ending was written.

Review. SUPER GOOD!!! Not just this book but the entire series! Very well written and I enjoyed it a lot. Also it was pretty fast paced for the most part which I enjoyed too. 5 out of 5

Such a Shame. Love love looooved Divergent and then this. What a terrible way to end such an amazing start to the series. I seriously hope they change the ending for the movie, or I won’t be interested.

Tris. Tris dies. Spoiler allert.

Best out of the 3 with the worst ending. The first two books of he his series were not as absorbing as I would have liked, however Allegiant seemed to finally be bringing me the connection I wanted from the author. Then the ending comes and I want to toss the book in the fire. It's one thing to have an ending that you just don't agree with but this was just terrible. This book won't leave you wanting more it will leave you disappointed with a mild headache.

Best book I have ever read!!!. I have read many many many many books and so far Veronica Roths allegiant in the divergent series tops them all. Tris is such a powerful and beautifully created character. Veronica blows my mind on how even the less exciting parts leave you wanting more. There is never a dull moment in this book. I am sad that it only lasted two days for me to read. Tris' story will always be in my heart. Allegiant is a powerful book once you are sucked in there is never going back..

So good. Loved the books! They are really good I just didn't like the way the books ended. It was quite sad. Wish it ended on a happier note

Helpless romantic. Great book until they killed off the main character

Honestly this book is not worth your time!. This book had a terrible ending!!! It ruined the entire series for me! If I could return it I would! I would advise that you don't read the book and instead just write you own ending cause the actual ending is absolutely horrible!!! :(

A realistic and fitting end.. I only started Divergent two weeks or so ago, and just finished Allegiant this morning. This has easily become my favourite trilogy, and the only book that made me fight off tears. After reading the reviews, i thought the ending would be all happily-ever-after and kind of lame, but no, it was realistic. I don't understand what the others are saying, but this is most definitely a fitting end. Side note, I actually felt for the two characters I previously wished would die off, and am glad how both Caleb and Peters stories ended, as well as everyone else's.

Really????. I am a big fan of divergent and insurgent. I enjoyed the continuous revelations of political corruption and prejudice both intentional and in ignorance. I enjoyed the complex emotions and relationships that were built within the Chicago experiment. I liked that Tris had dimension and that she was more than a vessel for her love story. I did not enjoy Tobias' perspective because from inside his head HE seems like an empty vessel for Tris' love story. *spoilers ahead* In Allegiant he seems to think in exactly the same voice as Tris only he makes bad decisions for no reason at all and constantly jumps to the wrong conclusion constantly. Further more the conclusion of events is anticlimactic and unsatisfying despite the attempt by Roth to escape conforming to YA happily ever after formulas. I thought the resulting social structure in adequately explained and without context in the larger world beyond New Chicago. I like the death of the protagonist in a series as well as anyone else (which is to say I bawl my eyes out) and was disappointed to find myself dry eyed and annoyed by the author's manipulative use of Tris' death. The whole scene felt like an insult more than the tragic sacrifice of a heroine. Kind of like the author is thumbing her nose at the audience saying, "see you thought this was a young adult novel and she would survive but I tricked you." It was overplayed and emotionally hollow despite the claims of sibling love that drove it. Collins' Mockingjay communicated this sentiment far more effectively.

WHYYYYYY??!. Lots of people who didn't need to die did, and now I'm literally crying cuz of it. Call me cray-cray, but I get attached, so you kinda just killed a part of me. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!?! I liked it until it was apparent that "they" weren't coming back. This is the first book I've ever read when someone so important died, and doesn't pull a Harry potter and live on

Wow! A Tour de force in teen literature.. Adults with life experience will "get" this third novel so stop whining about the ending all you teen girls and reread the last paragraph of the book; it alone makes the entire series worth the read. This book is better than The Lord of the Flies, the Hunger Games, the Maze Runner and any other novel that warns of a dystopian future. A great read unless you still watch Nickelodeon!

NOOOOO!. I only have one word for this book: Why!? The ending has officially ruined my life. I don't understand why it had to end this way, but at least she's/he's at peace. You may not want to finish it at first because of how weird and boring the whole book is, but trust me, the ending is phenomenal! You need to finish it. You may not get closure, but your heart will heal over time. She/He will always be in our hearts. Curse you Veronica Roth but then again, thanks. I didn't see that coming, and now I'm dead as well. :'(

Save yourself the pain. Loved the series. Hated this book. Might actually be the worst ending i have ever read in my life. Your hearth will break and you will want to kill yourself and all that is good in the world. Dont ruin a great series by reading this one.

Loved it. This book just about killed me

Seriously. Worst ending plausible! What was the author thinking! Worst book of the series! Disappointed

Genetically Damaged= Emotionally Damaged. This book left me emotionally damaged. Once I finished, I couldn't look or touch it. It's bad enough that it's mostly in Tobias's point of view (who I think is a whiny baby) but Veronica Roth drew the line when she killed my two favourite characters + the whole thing is so unreal and strange I felt like them, I was in unknown territory and have been lied to the whole series! It wrecked me. It came in like a wrecking ball. It broke me. I never hit so hard in literature. It was just so. So.. Different! I was definitely puzzled. This pretty much sums it up. Uriah <3 Miss you babe :* Wish you were mine. They don't think you're good enough to be in the movie. Well they're pansycakes, every single one -_- Love ya cutie... RIP

Allegiant:). Omg sucha great book! But such a ved ending i was practically crying :(

Seriously!?. Amazing book! I loved the story but the ending was...well, I almost died! All in all awesome book, even if I wished for a happier ending.

Emotional wreck!. I have never felt so many emotions at once... Absolutely devastating ending yet still the best series in the whole world. Recommend it to anyone at all really. Have learned to love and care for all characters. The divergent series is my other half <3

Horrible. :(

Allegiant. I really enjoyed the first two books and couldn't wait for the third . And then I read the third book and was very disappointed , not sure I will read anymore of her books .

I hated the ending. The other 2 books r amazing and so was this until the end.... It's a rly sad ending.

The most Impressive aspect of this book. The most impressive aspect of this book? The ability of the author to repeatedly take your money and put it in her pocket. She has an amazing ability to milk her imaginary universe - just note all the new work she has coming out that is based on the same basic concepts. That's right, VR, sell as much of this depressing drivel as you can, as quickly as you can, before everyone loses interest in your little 'universe' and moves on to the next Big Thing. Hopefully some of this author's cash will be donated to fund teen counselling, as if teenagers were not depressed before they started this series, they may be after reading its conclusion. Let us hope that this author's sojourn in the fairyland of fame is short lived, so that we may all then find a more positive and enlightening 'reality' to share.

Allegiant was disappointing. I absolutely loved the first 2 books in this series but found the final book choppy and thrown together. Terrible ending to what started out as an awesome series. I almost wish I hadn't read the final book!

Beautiful and heart breaking. This book is amazingly written. Even though I cried at the end I would re-read this book 10000 times

Sad but good!. It was so sad how it ended but at least he/she (trying not to give it away) didn't die a pointless death. Loved the book and the series! <3 Just sad how it ended :'( I suggest reading it if you have read the other books.

Good book. It's a good book, but I was expecting a little more from it to be 5 stars.

Allegiance. Ok book. If I knew the ending was so poor I would not have read the series.

Hated the first 700 pages hated the last 60. If you read the first 2 books you have to read this one, but don't expect to be impressed :s

Awful. I liked Divergent, found Insurgent disappointing and wanted to throw this book across the room. The plot feels like it had no set-up and, instead of wrapping up all the loose ends (or even most of them), adds new ones. The ending is terrible and the main character becomes even more of a Mary Sue. SPOILER: "She's too good for this world". Seriously?!

Omg. HORRIBLE ENDING OMG ITS SO SAD TRIS DIED

Good. Other than taking my heart and crushing it into 100000,0000000000 pieces, it was great!

Third book so disappointing. The first two books were awesome. I looked so forward to reading Allegiant. I thought the ending would be Tris doing a video explaining everything and then taking memory serum, as Edith Prior did. That would have been a great ending.

Horrbile End. The ending to this serise is horrible, and has completely ruined the entrie series for me. I will never read them again or see the movies..
