At the heart of The Husband’s Secret is a letter that’s not meant to be read

My darling Cecilia, if you’re reading this, then I’ve died. . .

Imagine that your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret—something with the potential to destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive. . . .
Cecilia Fitzpatrick has achieved it all—she’s an incredibly successful businesswoman, a pillar of her small community, and a devoted wife and mother. Her life is as orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything, and not just for her: Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia—or each other—but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret.

Acclaimed author Liane Moriarty has written a gripping, thought-provoking novel about how well it is really possible to know our spouses—and, ultimately, ourselves.

Not what I was expecting. This book took me by surprise. It had twists and turns, but was consistent in the storyline. Amazing book, highly recommend it!

Husband Secrets. Sorry this was a mess. Nothing but jumping back and forth with dramatic messes. Didn’t get it. No real resolution really and I personally didn’t enjoy this style of writing.

Meh.. A friend recommended this book and I was disappointed. The characters felt underdeveloped and shallow and the story lines were predictable. The book really dragged on and I felt there was a lot of unnecessary fluff. I was not satisfied with the ending and I felt that the epilogue was pointless. I would not recommend this read.

Captivating. Keeps on your toes. Every chapter is exciting & a page turner . Well done!

Excellent!. Couldn’t put it down!

Great book!. Amazing.

The Husbands Secret. I couldn’t stop reading this wonderful book. Absolutely a five star.

Could not stop!. Literally read from front to back in less than 24 hours. Mind blowing. Emotional but yet addicted to knowing what would happen next. Amazing book that I'll never forget. Now I'm about to start reading the next book "big little lies".

Skip the last two chapters. This was an excellent book until it randomly for some reason threw out all the fascinating, challenging, and beautiful realities of life to tie a grotesque everyone-must-be-an-undivorced-happily-married-mother bow on the end. I regret reading the whole book.

The Husband's Secret. Wow!! The characters in the beginning of the book can confuse you, but you will love them. They are funny, sometimes hateful, but interesting. Read this book in two days. Fantastic. Great author.

Unputdownable. Loved this book! I enjoy the author’s unique style. For me, her style of unfolding the characters and their stories is fresh and compelling. There were several clever, laugh out loud moments where her use of words was hilarious. I read it because I enjoyed Big Little Lies on HBO, and wanted to see how one of Liane Moriarty’s books would be. I will be buying her others shortly!

It was just okay. The premise of this novel was highly intriguing, unfortunately, for me, it didn't live up to that. This was my first liane Moriarty book, but I'd been drawn to her work because of how delightfully good the HBO adaptation of Big Little Lies was. So, I came in with high expectations. As I mentioned, the premise had a heck of a hook....wife finds a note husband only intended for her to read when he was dead, but he's still very much alive! To my displeasure the plot didn't focus solely on said husband and wife, there was a lot of jumping around to the point where it was like multiple. mini stories within a bigger story. I generally like that--when every mini story has a purpose/impact on the overall plot. Rachel's story was necessary because she is the only living parent of the dead girl. However, Tess's story left me scratching my head. Like, why did I jus spend hours reading about her when she had nothing to do with the overall plot/premise? Generally, I found much of the story to be a bit dull and pointless. The best part of the book was the end. When the author launches into the "what if's" of the book. I reallllly liked that bit and it made me look at the story a bit differently.

Lots of Twists. Very well written. Good storyline. Like the way it all comes together.

Love it. Great read!!!!

Awesome Vacation Read!. You won’t be able to put it down!

Wow didn’t see that coming.. Great read. Had to limit myself to 20 pages a day or I would not have been able to put it down

Great story. Found it a bit hard to get into at the beginning but once I knew who was who I loved it and couldn’t put it down.

Makes you think. Really makes you think about what you would do in certain situations and wonder what you really know. Great read!

Great Plot Twists. Great read and character development.

Pretty Good. This book was better than I thought it would be. Very predictable, but still enjoyable. The dialogue was believable and I could buy the way the characters acted and reacted to the events.

Great plot!. Loved this, couldn’t put it down

10/10!. such a good book written by an even better author!

so good !. I should have written this review weeks ago... but my brain didn’t register that I could! I really enjoyed this read. I love a good book with twists, turns and connections!! Definitely recommend this one!

Uuuyog. Yeah Ig

The Husbands secret. Loved The Husbands secret!

Highly recommend. Page turner, couldn’t put it down. The author does it again!

Can't stop. I saw her books and wanted to read them, my sister watched the big little lies show and then I got addicted! It's so real and emotion from every angle.

Love Leanne Moriarty. Good book. Read it in two days.

Great read!. I couldn’t put this book down. The way the characters all came together in the end was spellbinding.

So good!. I could not put this book down, grabs you in from the first page on!!

Boring. Very cheesy

Love. First book by her and it wasn’t my last. Loved this book

The Husband's Secret. A very touching book. An unexpected ending. Worth the read. Movie worthy.

Not My Cup of Tea. For me, this book jumped round way too much from one group of characters to another without anything tying together for a very long time and this happened each chapter, making it very hard to keep track of everyone and to follow the storyline. The sheer number of characters made it hard to keep track of who was who. I kept hoping it was going to start tying together and getting better so I stuck it out but I really wish I hadn’t. The ending was an odd wrap up as well.

Disappointed. Each of the characters’ situations seemed to have that one shock moment then just drag on and on..while the author made a connection between the characters with each other, it seemed forced, not a fluid connection between them. I appreciate that the big “secret” came out mid-book and not at the end. This book just didn’t do it for me. This is the 2nd book I’ve read by this author, first was “The Last Anniversary” which I think was a free Prime reading book and I loved it, so I hope I enjoy her other books as well.

A decent read. Although the book started off slow it managed to keep my attention throughout. The back and forth at times was a bit confusing but overall it was a decent read. I appreciated the ending, it gave me more to think about.

Save your time…don’t read. The story reared it’s peak once we found out what was in the letter. It felt like the rest of the book was just a bunch of random run on sentences to fill the chapters. Definitely not worth the read.

Predictable but good. The “twists” weren’t all that surprising, but overall a decent summer read

Excellent mystery. Kept my attention and I stayed up way too late reading. Great surprise ending!

Husband’s Secret. Excellent read

Loved it. She is an amazing writer. This story had me hooked from the start

Slow beginning. Slow beginning but I was hooked after chapter 7 or 8. Ending very emotional and really makes you think of the secrets we all keep or are kept from us!

A Must Read. An absolute must read. You find out the secret and then the unthinkable happens. Does the victims mom do the right thing? A life for an arm.....read to find out. Page turning at its best.

Astonishing!. This novel really got me. I purchased shortly after it was released and just got around to finishing. It was borderline for me to get totally hooked into but I couldn't be happier that I did. This was a masterpiece. The epilogue was impeccable. This is a must. You will love every second of it.

Oh the secrets people keep. This was as good as “Big Little Lies

The Husband's Secret. Great read! Keeps you reading!

Great Read. I loved this book! Read in 24 hours! We all have secrets, desires, and nobody is perfect. This book laid it all out perfectly. Everything happens for a reason, even if it is painful! Highly recommend for a weekend read!

The Husbands Secret. Disappointing. Very confusing. Lots of characters had to keep straight. Tedious reading. Barely got through it. Don’t waste your money

A satisfying read. This is the kind of book that will make you feel things. It's funny, heartbreaking, soothing and it will teach certain things about life that you compelled to learn. Simply unputdownable.

Great read. After I got pass chapter two I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So many surprising twists

The Husband's Secret. Novel is very easy to read and is hard to put down. I always believe that our choices in life influence our path along the way.

Great!!. Couldn't put it down!

Good read. I'm still not sure how Tess' life was really effected by the husband's secret, maybe I missed that part somehow or maybe that storyline was just meant as filler. Overall, good read, may just have to get the next one of her's.

Ok read. It was overall a good read but I definitely knew the ending before it ended.

Loved it!. This was the best book I read all summer. It was easy to follow even though there were several little stories and time periods intermingled. I liked that the characters were relatable. I've also never before read a book that was set in Australia, so that was interesting to me as well.

Loved this book. I couldn't put this book down. Some wonderful characters whose lives intertwined.

Wtf is this. Poopy book

It’s good!. Well written and interesting. Makes you think

Carolyn. Hard to put down . A very worthwhile read. Good book club choice.

A Husbands secret. What a great story , it was so hard to put down ,I love how the characters all came together at different stages of the novel! So sad when I read the last page , it really made me question different things in my own life.
