Cell. Robin Cook scared the life out of me with this novel. As always, his story takes off running and keeps on pounding. You will not look at your cell phone and your doctor the same after this read.

Cell. Predictable and boring. Too much political commentary.

A great page turner!. I read this book in a few hours. Being a health care worker, I've always loved Robin Cook novels. Cook's books are always scientifically correct. This would make a great movie, going back to the genre of Coma in excitement and intrigue. Fast moving, an innocent person wanting to "do the right thing", others who can't see past their greed. I loved it!

Review in Progress. I'm about 1/4 of the way through this book and feel compelled to get these thoughts about this book out there. This is a fantastic, while very disturbing, read so far. The story, as usual with Robin Cook, is drawing me in with his excellent writing obviously based on knowledge about medicine, insurance and intrigue. I shiver with terror to think of an iDoc app on our smart phones which replaces primary care doctors and which was developed by FOR-PROFIT insurance companies controlling patients, determining which ones "cost" too much in the long-run and then "eliminating" the financial risks their insurance companies face now that Obamacare prevents them from canceling the policies of folks who get sick and start eating into the profits too much. But I became dismayed when the dialogue started suggesting the IAPB, established by Obamacare, might not be too upset with these iDoc "eliminations". Because it would save money and isn't that one of the reasons for healthcare reform? My first thought was "OMG - do not let Sarah Palin read this." Then I laughed because I was worried about Sarah Palin actually reading something. But I'm sure some RWNJs read and wouldn't be surprised to see this book quoted on FoxNews as "there are some who say the IAPB and Obamacare could actually lead to euthanasia of Americans with illnesses that are deemed too costly to treat." Or course, they'll never mention that the fictional doctors and insurance executives in the book actually admit the most efficient way to deliver healthcare to all Americans and cover the cost would be to have single payer insurance, something like Medicare-for-all. But since Obamacare offers lots more customers and lots more profits to insurance companies, they might as well take advantage of it in every way possible. And that, my friends, is why healthcare does NOT belong in the for-profit arena. Because insurance companies' mission is PROFIT while the government's mission, even while wrapped up in bureaucratic red-tape, is to take care of it's citizens! Maryylovestoread. Did I miss something? Was there a book between Nano and Cell? What happened to Pia and the Nano situation? How did George meet his fiancé?

Cell. I think Robin Cook is losing his edge, I'm sorry to say. I'm only a third of the way through the book, and it is already predictable. And for an MD who is also an author, he needs to check facts. Misuse of words (ie; scoffed when referring to eating) and the fact that he doesn't know where the navicular bone is located, makes this a very disappointing read.

Good read.. Enjoyed book. Lots of twist and turns but disappointed with ending. Don’t like being left in the dark…

Cell. As a family doctor for the past 30 years, I've seen a lot of changes in the field of primary care medicine. Nothing compares to the changes occurring with the introduction of the Electronic Health Record. Good ol' Marcus Welby medicine is gone. Dr. Cook has hit the nail on the head and it saddens me.......and scares me!

Too bad.. Great concept but the execution left a lot to be desired. Characters are flat and unsympathetic, and it's hard to believe that a presumably intelligent radiology resident could be so hopelessly naive. His fiancé is dead yet there is no anger at the injustice? Additionally, an abrupt ending that leaves the reader hanging, as if the author simply got tired of telling the story, makes for an overall disappointing read. It could have been great. But it wasn't.

Cell. Interesting and scary scenario. Could it really happen. Possibly in theory. Good thought provoking read.
