Fast paced post apocalyptic sci-fi.. I honestly didn’t want to put the book down. I enjoyed the characters each one felt realistic. The story is fast paced keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. The ending left me wanting more but in a good way. Glad I don’t have to wait for the next book in the series to release. If you enjoy sci-fi and post apocalyptic settings then I highly recommend giving this book a read.

Page turner. I was hooked from the first page. The author lures you in as you follow the main character on his journey of survival for himself and mankind. He quickly adapts from his sheltered existence to experience the world post apocalypse. I can’t wait to see where his journey leads him.

So good. This is probably the best book series I've ever read. Also, it reminds me a lot of the game series, fallout.

A good read for Post Apocalyptic Fans.. Personally, I enjoyed reading the work Kyle has written. The story was engaging, the setting dark, and many mysteries the rest of the series hopefully answers.

Apocalypse ( The Wasteland Chronicles, #1). Interesting, seems somewhat far fetched, but keeps you reading or at least coming back to finish the story as far as it goes. Might have to check out the next edition in the series though,just to see where it's going to go?

Amazing. Undoubtedly one of the best books I have read. But I am disappointed that the next books in the series cost money to get. Otherwise, this is a wonderful book, and the adventure genre and the future setting really grabbed my attention! Great work, Mr. West!

Good end of world sci-fi. Took a while to tie all parts together but turned out to be a good book. Mr West has a way to tell stories.

So many twists and turns. I love this book! It’s so unpredictable and spontaneous, and very relatable!

Favorite series. As I can see it this series was aimed towards a teenage and adult audience. It is by far my favorite series out of any book I’ve read. I’m a apocalyptic reader and enjoy anything that has to do with survival in a world vs man conflict. It captures what you might expect to live in Fallout by Bethesda but with a very different twist as you will discover later in the series. I’ve absolutely loved reading this series, as I’ve done this multiple times. I have only good things to say about these books and Kyle west as a author. I emailed him a while back and he sent me 3 books from in his Xenoworld series. Very generous. Best author and book ever!

Above and Beyond. I am currently in the process of reading the 5th book. ("Darkness") I HIGHLY suggest this book to people, I haven't read in about a year or so before I found this series and it has kept me engaged and entertained the entire time. Starting off might be a slight bit slow but it's well worth it! ~Aztaeon

Light read. It’s average. Maybe I’ve just read too many awesome apocalyptic novels, but for me it was somewhat bland.

AMAZING. I just finished this great book once I started reading I couldn't stop, oops finish it in one night. Thank god there is still more to this great series.

Great book. Well done, new author or not. It grabbed my interest and held it, despite all the unknowns to discover! Looking forward to starting book 2.

Okay. Another great start of adventure

Apocalypse. Intriguing plot and page turning actin

Decent story. As I write this review, I don’t do it to pass judgment, but as a fellow writer who wants to see other fellow writers including you get better at their craft. “If in doubt, cut it out.” The story felt just a little bloated. With some cutting and cleaning, the story could have read a lot quicker and tighter. I would suggest you find ways to cut some words out. Focus on the characters and the actions of the now. I would encourage you to study how to write action scenes. If you tips is to cut out even more words and make the sentences short into the point. Focus on the action and not necessarily the description.. Only focus on description when it is needed. Try to make the paragraphs shorter. These are just a few things you can do to make your action feel more intense. Cut the backstory. I’m not necessarily imply that you should cut out all back story, but the few scenes where you spent great lengths of time going over character backstory’s, was frustrating to read. I would recommend summarizing the backstory or find other ways to show backstory through the plot. Think about actual people. They likely wouldn’t go into this much detail if they were telling other people about themselves.. Trust the reader. The main character, especially seem too focused on and ponder things that were rather obvious. Trust the person reading to get implications and such in your writing. Clichés and tropes can be harmful. I understand. reader expectations. There are certain things you had to do in this type of apocalyptic story to make the audience feel satisfied, but it became extremely predictable. The foreshadowing wasn’t necessarily bad, but especially towards the end, I could predict essentially the last hundred or so pages in almost perfect order I would try to be just slightly more unpredictable. And try to think out of the box more. I loved a lot of the elements you brought into the story. I especially loved the structure you had for how the bunkers were set up. But predictability was definitely an issue for me. Also, I get the sense that you may not have a very strong mental picture of where these events are happening. There is certainly a place to let the reader fill in places in their mind, but I don’t think I was given enough description to where I felt like it was a full story. It felt like everything was happening in rooms with painted white walls and concrete floors. Note: I recommend reading “Self Editing For the Fiction Writer” Again, I say all of this with respect in the hope that you continue to become a better storyteller. I’m sure you know most if not all of this. I am just making observations noticed in this particular story. I read all of it from start to finish And enjoyed it.

Writing was poor.. Was this written by a fifth grader? Had a good story line but that was all.

Amazing book. This book is perfect if you are a teenage boy like me. It pulls you in right from the start and it's nonstop action. I've never really been a apocalyptic type but this is amazing.

Apocalypse was amazing!. At first the title intrigued me, it was a free download so I started reading. The start was pleasant but the more I read the more intense the story became. I am now addicted to the whole series! Read this crap! It's like nothing I've ever read before!!

Great Book!. This book is great, and will keep you reading to the end. On a bad note, I felt the action portions could use a little more "something", but it was still well done. Now onto the part people won't hate me for. The story has a great storyline, flows well, and explains a lot right off the bat to get you interested. A majority of ideas in this book are new; the bunkers are an old idea, HOWEVER, Mr. West thought everything through (growing food in the bunker, jobs, kids, etc...) and to me this was a fresh take on an apocalyptic event. The Xenovirus, while zombie-like, still had twists to it to make it new. Another great thing is that Mr. West is not afraid to kill off anyone (except Alex), which adds to the tragedy that Alex experiences throughout the story. Even though the fights could use a little something, I would highly recommend this because of fresh ideas, and how well thought out the story was.

Excellent SciFi read!. I came across this book by accident, read it, and devoured the remaining books in the series. It is an excellent story, well written and just as importantly — well priced! Can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Amazing author. At first I was skeptical about this book. Mainly because I've never seen the author before. I'm very happy I picked up the book I loved it. I was glued in right from the beginning. Kyle truly cares for his fans and his passion for writing is real. You can expect a good book from kyle because he put hard work and dedication into his books enjoy his booms while they are out

So Kyle I loved this book with all my emotions including crying and anger but I just wish the others were free because I'm on a hand-me-down phone I didn't buy and can't afford the rest of the books please make them free because this series had me on the edge of my seat and tissue box so anyway Kyle please make the books free and great writing :):):):)

Ugh. This was stupid. Poorly written. Action was predictable and beyond believable, even for light fiction. I wouldn’t waste anymore minutes of my life reading other episodes of it.

Amazing Plot. This is a great book if you’re looking for a great book. There are not many deep literary elements that I can tell of and it does not have very deep characterization, but its plot is amazing and very different from other sci-if books. I have no regret buying all of the other books in the series. They were just as great when I read them for the second time.

A fantastic fantasy story. A very captivating read, I was drawn in straight away by the gripping storyline. Each chapter becoming more exhilarating than the last, filled with character detail and life stories.

Surprised, but in a good way!. I had come across a recommendation from R/books on Reddit for people who are looking for a story similar to the Fallout games. I expected it to be a serviceable attempt, however I was surprised with how gripping the plot became as I read further into it; leaving me wanting more… now for book 2!

Ok read. This kind of book is not really my thing but I thought I would try it. The story was good and it is well written. The score is only based on how much I enjoyed it, as already stated this type of story is not for me. Saying that the score would have been lower if the writing was not good. A must read. Excellent book, I literally was drawn into an apocalyptic world ,,,, can't wait for more

Overall A Good Read. I wasn’t sure what to expect but this was an entertaining surprise! Fans of Fallout and most zombie oriented genres (namely things like RE and The Last of Us) will certainly find familiar aspects to love. My only gripe was that the action felt a little under written and the romance forced in the beginning but those are easy to get around! I’ll definitely be getting the next instalment.
