Take the Monkeys and Run. I loved it. I really like Merr, she was funny and acted like anybody who found out their spouse was lying about everything. I really like books that are entertaining and doesn’t have to have love scenes or poor language. I suppose the characters could actually act like that. I really like it and I want to read another.

A fun read!. I really enjoyed this book! It was fast paced, the characters were well described, and the adventure was often kind of zany. The authors' style of writing reminds me a bit of Carl Hiaasen's writing.

Take the Monkeys and Run. I very rarely stop reading a book once I get past the first 10 pages but I had to give up on this book at chapter 7. The main character Barbara Marr becomes so unlikable that I could not continue. It’s actually great character development by the writer but she creates such a distasteful personality in her detective, and knowing that this is going to be the hero throughout, and there is not going to be any redemption because the author expects you to actually like her detestable creation, well, I just had to give up. She should have made this character into one of the villains and killed her off in some horrible way and created a flawed but basically likable hero. Don’t even start reading this, you’ll wish you hadn’t.

Very entertaining!. Easy read, laugh-out-loud moments, and lots of action. It was just fun to read.

Take the Monkeys and Run. As promised by the title, this book inspired giggles. Despite violence and lies, Barbara Marr keeps a cheerful outlook as she tries to unravel the mystery of the empty house next door and the monkeys in her trees. Somehow she roped a local cop, fellow soccer moms, and an ex into her shenanigans. Some of the details of this story are rather unbelievable, but It still entertained me. What details? I can’t tell those without spoiling some of the fun.

A very enjoyable read!. First, let me say I love Indy authors. Karen Cantwell has just joined my list of “must read” authors… those that I must read every book they write. Well developed characters, believable plots, and a twist that isn't telegraphed too early. In general, a quite pleasant way to relax. I highly recommend this book.

March 4, 2017. Now this is good! A cross between Erma Bombeck and Nancy Drew, it has suspense, laugh-out-loud humor, AND good writing. And this from me, who doesn't think twice about sending a half read book back into the electronic trash heap if it doesn't live up to early expectations. I couldn't put it down.

Take the Monkeys and Run. This was the first book I have read by this author. It was a free download and sounded fun, so I decided to give it a try. I enjoyed it! I will definitely look for more of her titles! Her style reminds me of Janet Evanovich and the Stephanie Plum series.

What Fun!. With such an odd title, I didn't think this was going to be my kind of mystery. Was I wrong. The book was so entertaining I smiled, chuckled, and laughed out loud in places. A very enjoyable fantasy, very different than most of the dark mysteries I'm used to reading. I highly recommend this fun-filled novel.

Monkeys. Don't know what made me buy this book. I'm usually not into novels. But I'm glad I did. This is the most hilarious book I have read in a while. Would highly recommend it to anyone that needs a laugh in their life.

What in the racism??. Mocks accents and plays it off as a “comedy”. Unnecessary poor spelling of words just so you can read a stereotypical accent. Disgusting.

Just right for me. Normally I would never go near anything with violence in it - whatever media it was. I really enjoyed this though. For a change from chick lit. Amusing, kept me reading but without. Blood, guts and gore. As a nurse I see enough of that at work! Can't believe I actually read a crime/murder book and enjoyed it without it giving me nightmares. Going onto the next one now.

Clever and funny!. I was very pleasantly surprised to find myself laughing out loud while reading! The characters were vivid, the dialogue hilarious and their antics kept me engrossed. I am happy to have stumbled on Karen Cantwell's book Take the Monkeys and Run and will definitely read more!

A light fun read. Though I didn’t immediately like our heroine, she kind of grew on me. If your were hoping for a fine piece of literary writing, this is not the book for you. If you were looking for a light fun read, you found it.

Lots of fun. Hard to put down.. At first, I thought the central character was highly neurotic and unappealing. Very quickly, though, I found myself drawn into the book and the kooky characters, and actually found it difficult to put it down. If you're a fan of the ludicrous humour styles of Douglas Adams, Paul Herck, or Blackadder, you'll certainly enjoy this book. I honestly never knew what to expect next (and that is rare for me). I look forward to reading all of Karen Cantwell's Barbara Marr stories!
