Perhaps learn about her, and her ideals, before bashing. You'll probably be surprised. She stands up against big banks, payday loan companies, predatory lenders, wall street, and so on. All on behalf of We the People. What has your Senator done for you? Or your Governor? Blocked medicaid expansion? And her book is a good read.

Warren is the real deal!!. Liz has a great story, from roots in poverty in Oklahoma to the halls of Congress. She learned up close what bankruptcies were all about and never stopped fighting for the little guy. She knows what obstacles face us on the road to justice and equity, and she has my full support.

Fascinating Read. Reminds you of all the things that are wrong with politics. Superpacs. Lobby's. Lower interest rates for banks than students. Not holding bankers and lenders accountable for misleading Borrowers. Taking away insurance coverage for birth control. Things need to change in politics. While I'm sure there was "self promotion" in the book, it's a great & frightening read!

Good info, half a story. I often disagree with Senator Warren, yet I enjoyed much and learned some from her book. Most personal financial problems are caused by divorce, a family member's death, or losing a job. Big banks offer financial products that are overly and unnecessarily complicated and often surprise those that apply for them. Many govt agencies do important valuable work we all too often take for granted. Govt agencies spurred car manufacturers to make safer cars, the FDA screened away some harmful and ineffective drugs, the EPA stopped some awful polluters... The book also illuminates it's subject by what is omitted and how people are stereotyped by Senator Warren. There is no mention of the government's role in both supporting and requiring sub standard loans; there is no mention that the "brilliant" Barney Frank championed Fannie Mae's excesses and is likely the biggest single person behind the 08 financial collapse; there's only fleeting reference to the country's fervor and anti gov't backlash in the historically lopsided 2010 elections; the rich do use some tax breaks not often used by the common man yet the top 5% pay 60% plus of all personal income taxes and the top 50% pay about 100% (the bottom 50% paying a net none); all Democrats encountered are altruistic, really smart, and or fighting for all that is good, and Republicans encountered are bracing to contradict out of habit, pleasant outwardly yet stupidly resolute, conciliatory yet underhanded. There's no real analysis or reasoning offered why more than half of all fed elected reps wouldn't even consider Elizabeth Warren leading a consumer protection bureau. I enjoyed the personal stories of her background of being a self described gawky unattractive young woman ( though the pictures provided contradict the latter description) and her admitted occasional social awkwardness, but her ability to see only one side of a coin makes her less interesting, less valuable, and likely less able to lead. It also makes the book more boiler plate, less illuminating, and easier to lay down.

Elizabeth-America's friend. A unique insight into the background of the United States consumers friend. A very easy read of some complex material in the fight to save the American consumer from the greed of Wall Street and the banks! She rose from a law professor to the Senior Senator from Massachusetts. She is a great friend of the American people and in my view a supreme candidate for higher office in the United States. Let's hope she runs someday!

Toot Thy Own Horn Loudly. As a democrat from Massachusetts, I should be fawning over her story of "triumph". But I'm not, because this book is just another PR piece that ignores those skeletons she doesn't want you to see and leaves you with the impression that she, not Al Gore, invented the internet.

Read it and then read it again. I don’t understand the status quo naysayers that most likely have not read the book. It seems the right is out to get Ms. Warren because her book speaks the truth and the truth is a hard lesson for some to swallow. She speaks the truth regardless of what the rest of Congress and the conservatives would want you to believe. Buy it, read it, and read it again.

Honest, entertaining, and inspiring!. I LOVED this book. Elizabeth Warren is a truly amazing woman and this book was very easy to read. I had little to no knowledge about her, but now I feel like I know exactly what she wants to do, and why. She is very passionate about fighting for the lower and middle class families. I honestly do not understand what all these negative reviews are about.... I'm suspecting they're paid lobbyists or hard-core conservative republicans who just cannot be reasoned. This book is a must-read. She made me want to become an educator or a lawyer instead of pursuing a phD in engineering!

Elizabeth Warren is an incredible person possessed with limitless energy, intellectual and physical, who takes us with her through her very personal journey all the way to the United States Senate. I am grateful to her for sharing of herself and purpose. I am very happy that there is an Elizabeth Warren. This book is a must read.

Wow. She really delves into her Native American roots and talks about spirit bear’s battle with star spirit and how the sun was made. Wonderful Native American mythology in this book its a 10/10 read for anyone who is into the Native stories.

Mr.. An absolutely fabulous read. True to her reputation, the Senator from MA breaks her story down into easy to follow terms. With the exception of the Fox News crowd, any reader will be inspired that occasionally someone genuine steps into public service. How appropriate that she should fill a position once held my a true champion of us common folk , Ted Kennedy. Given time to grow, I believe that one day she will achieve much the same statue as that late statesman. You need to read this book.
