Winter Interlude by Sandy Loyd Book Summary

Do you remember your mother telling you when you were little that you’d never meet Mr. Right if you were spending all your time and energy with Mr. Wrong? And what about the book out a few years ago that created such a hoopla with the single crowd – He’s Just Not That Into You? The two main characters in Winter Interlude either didn’t heed their mother’s advice or haven’t read the book. Now, add into the plot that the two in question are enemies who regularly run into each other, given their current relationships. Paul Morrison, a hunky, blond, financial planner, has been putting time and energy into winning the heart of Kate Winter’s best friend for almost as long as Kate, a strong willed antiques dealer, has been dating James Morrison, Paul’s brother. The sparks start to fly when the two get stuck together for a three-hour drive to the mountains and years of misconceptions about each other are slowly being wiped out. It is in the confines of the BMW that the two begin their journey, taking them from being mortal enemies to lovers.
Winter Interlude tells the story of their adventure – of how they finally find love. Kate and Paul’s story is the first one in a series of four friends caught in a time warp. They can’t move on because they are stuck on their idea of their perfect dreams. But sometimes life works in mysterious ways and they are all forced by circumstances to change.

Pretty good. It had good characters and a good story but I would've liked it more if the pacing had been better. The author dragged out the tension and then rushed to wrap it all up in a few pages. I would've preferred more of a payoff than a 2 paragraph epilogue. Otherwise, it was pretty good.

Love it!. Couldn't put it down... Easy to read. Just sorry it ended so soon!

Fun Read. I really like the characters. I enjoyed the Lake Tahoe skiing part of the story. A quick read but very enjoyable.

Good. Good

Good!. The book is very good.

Ok. This story was just ok, not really believable. I found it to be slow at times and rushed at other times. I find it hard to believe the girl, Kate, could be in love with one brother for years then suddenly switch her "love" to his twin over a few hours. Plus the 1st "love" isn't mad at his twin!?! Kate was totally Wishy-washy! I prefer a stronger more honest female leed.

Nice love story. My first book of this Author. Very liked it. Will read of her books. Give it a try

Not good. Sorry but this book did NOTHING for me. The characters lame and immature. Frankly I didn’t even finish this book.

Winter interlude. It was ok, just not that special.

Amazing book and author!!!. I enjoyed every minute of reading this book. My only complaint...is that I didn't want their story to end. Many might feel that it was too short or rushed at the end but every writer is different and has their own technique. Many readers prefer to read where conflict is dragged out for most of the book, I know I do. But sometimes you want something that's not as long but still enough romance to get your heart fluttering. Sandy is more of a short and sweet author, a nice compromise if you're in the mood to read a good romance book but don't have all night to read. I guarantee that this book will be read in one sitting though you won't want to put it down. Some may disagree but I feel the length of this book just fits. They hated each other and became friends, attraction grew and they ran away from emotions, they settled their misunderstandings and accepted the other. The end. What else could have happened in the book just to make it longer when it ended perfectly with a declaration of love on both parts and all ends tied up? The ending and story was fitting because it wasn't meant to be a fairy tale it was meant to be realistic. I loved it as I'm sure I will enjoy her other works.

Great book. A book of tangled emotions with a lovely ending. Loved it.

Easy light read. If you like winter romance, snowstorms and two people working it out that there truly is a fine line between love and hate, when the whole hate thing that you have both been working so hard at, flips in on you, then you will enjoy this story.
