Daisy Honey fled Trusty, Colorado, after years of battling rumors sparked by her gorgeous looks and lust-inducing name. Now a physician on the brink of a promising career, she reluctantly returns home when her father is injured in a farming accident. Daisy expects the small-town girls who hurt her in the past to take cheap shots again--but she's completely unprepared for a run-in with tall, dark, and wickedly sexy Luke Braden, the only man who has ever stood up for her--and the man she's never forgotten.

Luke Braden is handsome, wealthy, and the best damn gypsy horse breeder in the Midwest. After a restless youth, he's finally ready to settle down--only connecting with women is nothing like connecting with horses, and he's never met a woman worth the energy. After an arrest in a neighboring town, Luke's past comes back to haunt him, and he realizes that his inability to find love runs deeper than he ever imagined.

A chance encounter sweeps Luke and Daisy into a world of passion. For the first time ever, Luke feels a connection, but Daisy's life in Trusty is anything but permanent, and Luke can't manage a future until he puts his past to rest.

A sweet, sexy romance. Dr. Daisy Honey never expected to return to her hometown of Trusty for anything more than quick family visits and holidays. With job offers in New York City and Chicago, she’s always planned on leaving Trusty behind — along with the awful rumors she suffered through high school. But when her dad’s hurt in a farming accident, she’s got little choice but to go back to the town that saddled her with a reputation she neither earned nor deserved, and just hope he recovers quickly enough for her to escape again before those awful memories pull her any further down. Luke Braden has little interest in women beyond the bedroom. Content with his ranch, his horses, and an occasional romp with someone he doesn’t plan on waking up with, he thinks his life is full enough. But then he sees the girl from so long ago, the one who ran off before he really had a chance to know her, and she’s all grown up now. He’s never wanted a relationship, though, not after seeing how his mother struggled to raise her boys without the father who took off before he was even born. But one nearly dropped cake and a hometown girl returned is about to change everything he ever expected from life. The Verdict: Oh that poor girl. With a name like Daisy Honey, it’s a wonder she didn’t march into the courthouse the day she turned eighteen and petition to have it changed! But it did make for a lovely introduction to Luke. Daisy was bullied throughout high school, with awful, undeserved rumors being spread about her, and it’s had an unfortunate impact on how she lives her life even outside the town of Trusty. She’s dyed her white blonde hair brown to attract less attention for her looks and more for her degree in medicine, but there’s no way she’ll blend into the background when she heads back home. I did feel pretty awful for her, going through what basically amounted to bullying in high school. Jealous high school girls can be beyond ugly, and her situation is ridiculously common in real life. And the way she just tried to keep her head down and avoid it all, even years after the fact, had a pretty true ring to it. So many books send the heroin back in with sharp barbs and determination to set things right, but I’m not sure that’s very realistic, considering how terribly that sort of experience in a small town can affect a person. The way Daisy conducted herself when going back to the place that made her teen years miserable was just spot on. Now, I’ve got to admit I expected Luke to be a bit rougher around the edges. He came complete with a barbed wire tattoo, a motorcycle, and a reputation for being a ladies man. But really he was just a big marshmallow under a deceptively thin skin. That’s not to say he wasn’t hot as hell or absolutely perfect for Daisy; he just wasn’t what I was expecting. And while I know a kid can get pretty messed up when abandoned by a parent, I didn’t fully understand why he dwelt on it so much. But maybe that’s just because I’ve been there, and I can’t see past the only reaction I personally understand. Still, the way he turned up the heat every time he showed up, and the way he fell into fitting Daisy into his life even before he would let himself think of the L-word was well worth reading about. Besides, I’m pretty sure I would have died if I’d run out of books to read in this series!

Loved it. Daisy and Luke’s story is so wonderful. Every girl wants a Luke and all the guys would sure like a Daisy! Since that’s rare to have it, it’s sweet to read about it. Two thumbs up and 10 stars if I could apply them.

Taken by Love. Well written, love the story and people. Enjoyed it very much.

Taken by love. Loved it

Love Daisy and Luke!. I read the book and listened to the audible version as well I am so happy that daisy learned that there is no place like home... And people can change for the better.

Taken by love. A sweet story and strong characters. I liked it a lot.

Ms. Hi, Ms Melissa, I've just finished reading the story, 'Taken by Love' and I find it very interesting because of its homely family oriented. I t's amazing how you delivered the characters of Luke Brayden & Dr Daisy Honey & I liked it very much. Is there a follow up story of their wedding? their family, children? I'm a little bit disappointed in the end. Thank you and more power to you. Evangelina

Another fabulous book in the series!. I've read every book in this series and have loved every one! I need a Braden for myself..

Love this Story. Taken by Love might be my new favorite book by this author! When Daisy Honey returns to her hometown it is with an end date. She is just staying to help her Dad while he recovers from an injury and she considers the job offers from hospitals in 2 large cities. Daisy still has vivid memories of the teasing she endured in High School because of her name and blonde hair. She is sure that small town life is not for her. “I love you, Daisy, and people who love each other do whatever it takes to help each other be the best they can be and achieve their dreams.” Luke Braden has a few things from his past that he needs to work through before he is ready to consider a serious relationship, but he open minded and willing to work for what he wants. He is definitely a swoon-worthy hero, thinking of Daisy and what may be best for her. I listened to this on audiobook and I really enjoyed the narration. I loved all the characters in Trusty and I can’t wait to return there for more stories. -4.5 Stars!-

A great book series, set in Colorado in a town called Trusty!. You will love this series! The characters are rich and well developed. The story line is a bit predicable but fun nonetheless.

Love The World Of The Bradens. Would you consider the audio edition of Taken by Love to be better than the print version? I have the book version but haven't read it yet. That may have been a good thing. I've never tried the Whispersync for Voice before and this just may be the book that changes that. What did you like best about this story? This is a story about being able to go home again. Daisy Honey was unsure at the beginning but with the right incentive she may change her mind. Luke has his own insecurities but he's ready to get past it all in order to let love in. Which character – as performed by B.J. Harrison – was your favorite? I don't have one favorite with this one. Every character is important in their own way - even down to the secondary characters. Especially when we're trying to get to know the town of Trusty Colorado. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you? There was a moment but it didn't particularly move me. Daisy lets us get to know her at the beginning of the story. She felt that she had to reinvent herself because of past misinterpretations. People, especially kids, can be hurtful and there can be consequences because of it. Daisy was stronger but it was sad because she felt that she had to change something in order to silence the bullies. Any additional comments? This was my first introduction to the Bradens of Trusty Colorado. It was a great first introduction. I used to have a farm at the end of my street and this book made me wish that it was still there. They had one horse and as I was delivering papers; I would stop, say hello, and then feed said horse. I'm also a certain age where doctor's made house calls. I could picture Daisy as one of them. Mr. Harrison lets us see how much she cares about people and her first thought is to help them. "Taken By Love" made me glad that I don't live in a small town. I wouldn't mind going for a visit but to live there you'd have to deal with town gossip. It's one thing to talk about it but it's another to be the butt of the gossip. Then I think roadtrip since I've never been to Colorado. Mr. Harrison has a soothing voice that has you sit back and sigh. I don't mind that I can't picture what a character may look like. There's just something about his voice where I automatically sit back and listen to him bring this story to life. Once the warmer weather gets here it will be nice to sit back and have some relaxing time to do nothing more than relisten to this book. There's a farm, up the road apiece, that sells ice cream - a second thought of where to relisten. I just have to be careful about sitting downwind. We all seem to buy the new books that come out - but why. You should buy a book because you want to. If you're following a series and need to fill in some of the gaps, remember that you can also check out your local library. A lot of them have programs where you can borrow audiobooks as well. Some have cooperating programs where you can also get them should your own library not have the title you're looking for. It would be sad that if you're following the Braden's you don't have all the books. What's good about this author is that a lot of her books can be read as a standalone even though at times I want to experience the character's stories in order. My problem becomes with all the series that she currently has out, I don't know that I'll ever catch up. That's good too because there will always be another one ready for me. I won't have to wait for the next book to come out. But then I have another issue, how about when I want to relisten to a book. Makes me wish we always had three day weekends. I voluntarily reviewed an Audiobook copy of this book.

Taken by love. Loved it!

Loved this book. A lovely story about a young doctor going home and not looking to stay. She started dating her crush and fell in love with him and the town. Beautiful story about love and family.

Loved it!. As with all Melissa’s books, wonderful story. Loved it!

Another winner. I'm emotionally invested in the characters of this series and this one isn't any different. Romance, angst, overcoming your past so you can live in the now. The only thing that bothered me was how much Dr. Daisy was in her head about her past. Otherwise, this was an excellent addition to the LIB series.

Taken By Love. I love everything by Melissa Foster. Always have good characters and great story line.

Loved it!. Luke and Daisy's story is one of those that keeps you hooked from beginning to end, and I never wanted the story to end. Loved it and I highly recommend it!

taken by love. loved it, 5 stars so worth reading

Taken by Love. Beautifully written story.

Taken By Love. Wow! Loved your book. Can’t say as I’ve read any that I wouldn’t recommend and I do. Thanks a lot and keep writing.

Overcoming the past toward an amazing future!. I truly enjoyed listening to Luke and Daisy's story after reading the print version when it was first released. Luke and Daisy both carry the weight of having small town rumors weighing them down in their home town in Colorado. Luke is a rancher and horse breeder, with a painful family past. Daisy is a doctor with dreams of working in a large city, yet finds herself currently helping out in her home town while spending time with her father while he recovers from an injury. Luke and Daisy had a brief encounter when they were young, when Luke helped her out of a situation where she was being mistreated. By the time Luke was rid of the defender, Daisy had fled. Now, Luke and Daisy meet each other again and can't deny their attraction. They are both resistant at first, trying to escape their past. But, the attraction is too strong. As they grow to learn more about each other, they also learn about themselves as well as how the people they thought they knew really feel.

Taken by Love. I’ve read several books by this author. They have all been really good but they are really sappy. I usually space her books out between other books just because I have to be in the mood for sugary sweet romance to read them. They are very heart felt emotional books. The other reason I space them out is they are similar to each other. They are still really great and I plan on reading more books in the series.

Great Read. Taken by Love was another great read by Melissa Foster. This is The Braden's at Trusty, CO #1). I loved reading Daisy and Luke's story. They are character's that you can completely relate to. Daisy returns to Trusty, CO after becoming a physician. She meets Luke again and it can change her life completely. I cant wait to read more of The Braden's.

Awesome. Really enjoyed this book. Can’t wait to read others in the series.

Oh my gosh. Ummm, this was one of the best storylines I have ever read. Definitely recommend this book for any woman!!!!

Another great story. What another great book by Melissa Foster. Daisy returns home to help her parents after her father is hurt. Her hometown of Trusty holds bad memories for her. Luke has lives in Trusty and never intends on leaving. When Daisy and Luke run in to each other they feel the immediate connection. Can Luke help Daisy see their hometown differently? I love the Braden series and can't wait for the next book.I listened to the audible version as well. The narrator was easy to listen to and made you feel like you were part of the story. Listening to the story added depth that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Another Beautiful Braden Couple. Well, Melissa did it again! Another Braden that's fiercely loyal and intense and OH SO YUMMY. And BJ Harrison, yet again, brought it to a whole new level with his narration, bringing in feeling through his tone and inflections. Daisy is the perfect companion for the Loveable Bad Boy on a Cycle (aint nothing better). This extension of the Braden Clan is just another example of Melissa's wonderful story telling. Luke is dealing with his past and abandonment from his father. HE left before Luke was born and he wondered why he didnt even come back to see/meet him. Daisy is dealing with the decision of where to go now. She's been back in Trusty for only a few weeks and she wasnt planning on staying. The wounds from her past are still fresh in ehr mind as if they'd just happened instead of years ago. Coming together was something neither of them had considered. Now they need to make the decisions of whether they let the past dictate how they proceed to their future.

Love truly conquers all. I fell in love with Luke and Daisy from the first page. I truly loved their story and I couldn’t put this book down. I cheered for them when they found each other and overcame their adversities. Another beautiful story from master storyteller, Melissa Foster.

Daisy and Luke. This is a supper sweet story small town romance. Luke and Daisy come together in what should be a short lived fling, but love has a way of changing your perspective and soon enough Daisy is falling back in love with the small town life she thought she wanted to escape.

Must read.. Just goes to show love conquers all. What a great story line, I couldn’t put it down.

4.5 out of 5. Melissa Foster provides great detail into the thoughts and feelings of each character as well as great introspection; you feel like you know each person well. This story started slow and sometimes it felt like “make the obvious decision already!” but, as in real life, sometimes we avoid that which might be painful. I admire that the hero is not just the strong, silent type but can recognize his restrictions and want to heal from them before giving himself over to a future - a whole future - with the woman he comes to love. I admired the singleness of focus and desire to do whatever is necessary to make a relationship with this special person work. I thoroughly enjoyed the depth of writing.
