Codex: Militarum Tempestus (Enhanced Edition) Book Summary

Codex: Militarum Tempestus
The Scions of the Militarum Tempestus are the highly skilled elite of the Astra Militarum. Trained from youth in the combat schools of the Schola Progenium, each one has been psycho-conditioned to obey without question and kill without remorse. In battle, the toughest missions fall to the Tempestus Scions. Their specialist squads will be often be dropped behind enemy lines by grav-chute or Valkyrie Assault Carrier, descending from the sky to take the fight to their foes. They will then move out to complete their mission, whether that is to assassinate leadership, destroy enemy war machines or take and hold vital ground.

Codex: Militarum Tempestus is your complete guide to the armies of the Militarum Tempestus. Inside you will find their history and organisation as well as details of the gruelling training regime every Scion must undertake when he is given to the Schola Progenium. As well as rules for fielding a dedicated force of Militarum Tempestus in your games of Warhammer 40,000, you will find a lavish showcase demonstrating the impressive range of models, as well as the many and varied colours and icons of this ancient institution of the Astra Militarum.

Codex: Militarum Tempestus (Enhanced Edition) - Games Workshop Reviews

  • Gw makes so much money its stupid?!

    By The Brian (m merch)
As a person who retails Games Workshop products, this is yet another staple of proof that we do not care about our customers, do not read the reviews and try to rectify ourselves, only care about money and people with it, and worst off, have made a mockery of small business people like me who have faithfully played this game for years.
  • Disappointed

    By Wolf-Tau
I really do believe GW is trying to work for the gamer. They have really done some great models and books lately. I've been playing 40K since 96. I realize this is a lot of work but the price is high. Too high for what you get. I used to buy every codex put out by GW and now only pick and choose certain ones. Digital is great but EXPENSIVE for what you get. This book needed a bit more content to justify the price.
  • Alright.

    By Malis 26
This codex is more of a supplement so you can add them with other armies like Grey knights again. I was hoping for some Heavy choices to be able to work with in it. The interactive builder would have been a nice bonus to help justify the price more.
  • Do not buy

    By Ygtdjsivnvysgsncj
Do not buy this codex, this is GW pushing out a needless codex to try and sell models that no one wanted. The codex is needless money grab for subpar units and subpar gothic style aesthetics.
  • For lore buffs and rapid assault players

    By Udon Rob
This codex differs from the norm, there are only5 units across 3 foc slots; so if you are expecting a codex that accommodates all play styles you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a codex that has a very limited focus, rapid deployment/ fast response style play; or a strong allied formation/ allied detachment then you may be pleased. I enjoy the lore of 40K, and this book is a good source of info on the Schola Progenium and the elites of the Tempestus Militarum. A good buy for Imperial players, anyone else my wish to pass.
  • If you buy you're officially a GW addict and need help!

    By Harvester8541
Maybe I'm saying this because I think I need help myself. This is NOT a codex. This is what GW used to put in White Dwarf but now charges a crap ton of money! I bought this because I didn't believe the reviews.... My bad. Pretty much everything that has been shared: Commissar, cmnd sqd, scion sqd, taurox prime, and Valkyrie. There are 2 formations that are kinda cool (hence 2 star rating). But this is in NO WAY an army codex!! This is just another example of Games Workshop's broader issue - they are milking their customers for everything they are worth. It used to be through higher pricing of their miniatures. Now they are doing it through their White Dwarf, Visions, and so called codexes like this. I'm an addict and I need help to break this habit. Hopefully I can save you from trying to get a fix by buying this piece of weak sauce.
  • Fluff but no meat

    By Xaositect
The army is a Commissar, a 5 man command squad and a few Armored Fist squads in either an armed transport or a flyer. Under 10 pages of army lists and rules. If you like background stories and dozens of pages of paint schemes, this is your codex.
  • Same as IG codex

    By Darth_Stryker
They took the units from the IG codex and added Warlord traits and orders. Nothing else. Commissar PLT HQ PLT Transports No extra wargear either.
  • Meh

    By Cranky at Cuppertino
As a White Dwarf article, this wouldn't be a bad little bit on information. As a $40 dollar book, it's a laughable ripoff.
