The Killing Game by Toni Anderson Book Summary

Read this thrilling story about a wildlife biologist who will do anything to save endangered snow leopards…even face-off with an elite Special Forces soldier who is tracking the world’s most-wanted terrorist—a man who is as much of a ghost as the elusive cats themselves.

Wildlife biologist Axelle Dehn isn’t about to let anyone harm her endangered snow leopards—not the poacher intent on killing them, nor the soldier who wants to use them as bait. But Axelle is unknowingly entangled in a conflict that stretches back three decades, a conflict that could spark a war between two of the world’s great nations.

British SAS soldier, Ty Dempsey, is on a mission to hunt down an infamous Russian terrorist in a remote region of Afghanistan. Dempsey hasn’t failed a mission yet, but when Axelle is kidnapped by the Russian, he is forced to choose between duty and his heart. He risks everything to save the determined, prickly woman he’s fallen for, but in doing so sparks a deadly series of events that threaten to expose the most successful spy in history. A spy who will destroy anyone who gets in his way.

If you enjoy tense romantic suspense, military heroes who are old enough to retire from the military (Ty Dempsey enlisted at seventeen and has served twenty-two years = a thirty-nine year-old hero) and heroines who are passionate about their work, then skip the rest of this review and start the book now." –Smart Bitches Trashy Books.

The Killing Game. The Killing Game is a thoroughly enjoyable read. There is suspense, action, surprises, romance, and intrigue. A bit of something for everyone. Axelle is a dedicated field biologist at the top of her field working in a dangerous environment. She has enemies everywhere, dedicated assistants, and friends she never expected. Read the book for the good story and enjoyment and even learn about her unusual name.

The Killing Game. Great read...fast paced and thrilling. Couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. Twists and turns and a few unexpected surprises. Definitely recommend it!

The Killing Game. Very good book it was hard to put down each night to get some sleep I have never read one of her books but enjoyed this so much I've ordered another.

A great suspense story. Toni Anderson's books have been in my TBR pile for a while but I hadn't gotten around to them yet so when I was offered The Killing Game to review I jumped at the opportunity. After reading this book I cannot wait to read more by this author. The Killing Game is about a wildlife biologist, a British SAS, Russian spies, and snow leopards. Dr. Axelle Dehn and her snow leopards are unknowing pawns in a battle between a Russian deserter/terrorist and a Russian spy living in Britain. SAS Ty Dempsey is charged with tracking down the terrorist in Afghanistan and ends up saving Axelle. You get treks through harsh conditions, gun fights, explosions, and most of all, emotions. Axelle and Ty end up opening themselves to love, whereas others show their true colors to those they "love". I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense.

Great suspense with a shocking conclusion. Realistic scene descriptions, endangered species, and plenty of spies made this a sure fire hit in my reading collection. The book mainly takes place in a long mountain range that stretches between central Afghanistan and northern Pakistan where wildlife biologist Axelle Dehn had previously tagged the snow leopards there with a GPS tracking system. When 2 of the tracking systems go offline she rushes to the Hindu Kush in fear that poachers have started killing them for their fur. What Axelle didn’t know was she’d basically landed herself in the middle of a hunt for the one of the most sought after Russian terrorists. The Special Air Service is a regiment of the British Army and Ty Dempsey and his counter–terrorism team are there to bring back the terrorist suspecting of hiding in the mountains dead or alive. What starts out as Axelle trying to save her snow leopards and Ty trying to catch a terrorist turns into a harrowing fight for survival and so many twist and turns in the world of spies and espionage. The author doesn’t just leave character backgrounds to our imagination. We go back in time to find out what made the two main characters, the terrorist and double agents who they are today that all wraps up to a shocking conclusion.

Couldn't put this book down. An interesting story and an enjoyable read. I liked the characters and good twists along the way.

The Killing Game.. Toni Anderson can do no wrong as an author as far as I'm concerned. The Killing Game is another winner. Not her usual kind of book, but excellent all the same.Obviously a lot of research was needed to make sure the reader found Afghanistan believable, also with the Special Operatives in England,Russia and elsewhere. The characters were enjoyable and their wit at times, really made me laugh. It was a great story line, unusual for the writer, but was strong, gritty and well managed. If you are not au fait with Anderson's work,I would strongly recommend that you give her a try.You won't be disappointed.Loved The Killing Game and getting ready for my next read.

Hot in the cold. This was the first of Toni Anderson's books that I read and I have been an addict ever since. Her female lead characters are always strong on the whole, but with realistic and believable issues or hang ups. This book sees a dedicated scientist trailing through the snowy Himalayas not hesitating to jump into harm's way for the sake of her beloved snow leopards. Pulling a gun on a suspected poacher gets her way more than she bargained for - hang on for the ride! You won't be sorry.... Toni's male leads are scrummy, smart, sceptical and seriously sexy to boot. Enjoy!
