Indebted #1. Great twisted story. Beginning was slow and was a little lost. Stayed a little confused on what is going on. No romance in 1st book.

Couldn't put it down.. I read the whole book in half a day by non stop reading. I just craved this book. I love where it went and how gripping it is. It's dark and yet there is the love growing!

Indebted #1. I have never continued to fellow a series of books until this one. It is fantastic! Pepper Winters pulls you in with her brilliant use of words. I check almost daily for the next book.

Not romance. I don't even know if it could even be classified as bdsm. If your looking for romance you wont find it here.

Awful. Horrible! Great writing but this IS NOT a romance. This is a story of rape and sexual slavery. The only reason I didn't just stop reading is because I wanted her to win, fight and be free. She doesn't! Glad I didn't pay for it!!

Not interesting. About 85 pages in and I was already annoyed. She gave off a desperate and immature vibe. I won’t bother reading anymore.

Don't read it. I hate this book. Nila is the most annoying character ever. She leaves with the man who even her scares her father. She has no common sense. That Jethro guy is a fartwaffle. I am sorry, it was just that awful.👎👎

Debt Inheritance, Indebted #1. I was concerned about purchasing this book, from some of the reviews about how dark Pepper Winters writes. I am glad I made the purchase as the story is indeed Dark and uncomfortable, however it is also interesting, dramatic, complex, and not predictable. I just purchased the Indebted #2.

Another great one but.... This is another great book by pepper winters. I was excited to see the second installment was out. When I went to purchase it I realized it was going to be a series of 6 total books. I think most stories could be completed in 2-3 and most start to drag even then. I think I am going to wait and see how reviews go before committing to the rest of the series.

Don't Download. This book is very poorly written. It reads like a cheap 50 Shades knock-off, with even less-developed characters.

Disgusting. Awful disgusting read. Sickening actually. Wouldn’t recommend and will NOT read any others in the series. Actually, I will never read any of her books. Being a survivor of horrible sexual abuse, this writer makes me sick that she could write such horrible things. There may be a good outcome (won’t know because I will not read the next book), but her ability to write about something so absolutely disgusting is awful.

In love.... I am in love with Pepper Winters books. She has a beautiful twisted mind but oh so romantic at the same time. The actions and thrills in her books! I'm speechless.. Because I am so in love! Thank you so much Pepper Winters.... 😘

Debt inheritance. The first novel will have you reaching for the next and so on and so forth, these are very captivating and you can feel the pull between the two characters and their families. Very captivating, very innovative and very addicting. I bet you can't put them down. You'll be anticipating the next release...

Nope.. Horrible, and triggering. Only read if you enjoy rape fantasies- would recommend seeing a licensed mental health professional first- otherwise keep scrolling. Will absolutely not be purchasing the rest of this series. Might go throw up and shower now.

Dark romance. It’s my 1 st dark romance book and it’s just wow! I had trouble reading the 1st book because of how cruel it was but as it got to the part where the character enjoyed a small piece of what was given to her, I gave it a chance. I ended up buying all the books! Every book had me wanting to read how it ends. I can I say I loved it so much!

Debt inheritance. Don't read this book! The woman is kidnapped,gang raped, and controlled by a group of sadistic men. This is a series so this crap is going to continue for multiple books. The author must be pretty sick in the head to even come up with this crazy storyline. This is not a love story; this is a story of abuse. I don't know how someone would make light of this situation with a fiction book when this stuff happens in real life with horrible consequences as a result...death/lifetime of psychological issues. Not cool to make this a series of fictional books...shame on the author and publishers.

Horrific. I've just finished reading 'debt inheritance', and am in shock. I am shocked that this book could in any way be classified as a romance. While I'll allow that as part of a series, romance could later enter the equation, this book contains none. It would better be classified as a violent thriller, depicting crimes against humanity. A young woman is ripped from the brink of success to be kidnapped, brutalized, molested, infantilized, threatened with violent gang rape (which is something to look forward to in the next installation), and years of torture followed by eventual murder. There are women in the world today who undergo such horrific treatment. Most visibly at the hands of sex traffickers, drug cartels (and their local counterparts), and various rebel groups in West Africa. I am shocked that a publisher would put their name on a piece of filth like this. The author has gone too far. If the protagonist had been given a choice in the matter, or was into rape scenarios, this story wouldn't be so unforgivable.

Indebted book 1. Great series! At the edge of my seat!

Only the beginning. I am a big fan of Pepper's books so I was eager to get my hands on this one. I was also jonesing to read it because from the teasers I had no idea how it was going to be. I knew that it was suppose to be dark, but the premise of it sounded like nothing I've read before, inheriting a person like one would property. I've read slave and human trafficking stories before but never such formal slave inheritance. Nina is a high end clothing designer. Although rich and famous in her own right, she is a Weaver, a wealthy, well-known, glamorous family. Capable of having the world at her fingertips, she only concerns herself with her three loves: her twin brother, her father and her sewing. Jethro is heir to the Hawk family throne. The Hawk's are basically a love-less royalty, a machine. They have strict codes and rules that must be followed no matter what. I'm a Hawk but blood doesn't flow in my veins. I'm born of a substance unbeatable by any other—diamonds. I'm a smuggler. I'm a dealer. And I'm about to become...a killer. The ancient customs declare that the firstborn Hawk son must take ownership of the firstborn Weaver daughter in repayment for a debt spanning the generations. I truly was Cinderella, only my prince threw away the glass slipper and stole me away before midnight struck. My prince was evil. My prince was the villain. I couldn't breathe. This is just the first installment of the Indebted series so many questions go unanswered. Several clues have been given. Many details and hints have been dropped, but it's hard to tell where the story is going to take us. I believe the jobs of the families, their last names, the bird artwork, extended talk of different jewels, all of this and several other things have significant meaning. Anyone that knows me knows that I love trying to figure out symbolism and hidden meanings. I just don't know the direction where Pepper is headed with it. There is definitely chemistry between Jethro and Nina. This book left me wanting to read more in major way. I cannot wait to continue with these two and their families.

Pepper Winter's is my Queen of Dark!. “Warning: Please note this is book one of a series. It is a Dark Romance that will unfold slowly with many twists and turns. In true Pepper fashion there will be a HEA. You just have to see past the darkness for the light.” When an author such as Pepper Winters includes a disclaimer like this before they synopsis of her book, I take it seriously. I know when I delve into the deep dark worlds Pepper creates, I must keep an open mind and challenge my reading comfort zones. Debt Inheritance definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone with arduous characters, uncompromising plots, and feelings of bewilderment. Debt Inheritance begins with Nila Weaver. She is a clothing designer at the top of her profession. She is also completely sheltered by her father and brother. She is very naive to the ways of relationships and love. Unfortunately for her, she is suddenly forced into a brutal world she is seriously unprepared for. Even I wasn’t prepared for it and I’ve read all of Pepper’s books! Nila meets Jethro Hawk (I love this character name) and is essentially handed over to him by her father. She has no idea that the world she has created for herself in long gone. She is now the property of the Hawk family. My eyes bugged out of my head when the proof of the debt is revealed in the story. Nila, her father, and brother have absolutely no recourse. A few key scenes stand out for me in Debt Inheritance–the scene with Nila in the dog kennel and the dining room. I don’t think I’ve experienced such a range of emotions in a long time. The dog kennel scene had me bawling my eyes out for Nila. Her inner dialogue and emotions made an huge impact on me. Reading the dining room scene had my jaw dropping more than a few times. It’s seriously intense and startling, to say the least. It’s this type of dark plot point that always makes me question why I read dark romances. But ultimately Pepper’s characters and plot atone for their moral misdirections and I’m once again ready for where the story will take me. I try to avoid reviews of books that I’m also reviewing for a blog tour. However, Debt Inheritance has cause quite a stir in my circle of social media friends and fan sites. There are many raves and rants about how this story plays out. This is not a light-hearted read. It is dark and very disturbing at times. If you’ve read any of Pepper Winter’s books, you’re well aware of this. This book is also part of a serial series. It’s going to end with a cliff-hanger. Typically, this is how serials are intended to be. If you go into this book with this knowledge, you understand the world you’re diving into. I went in with both eyes wide open, expecting to confront some of my reading comfort zones. Debt Inheritance met all of my expectations and then some. I enjoyed the dark plot, deeply complex characters, and the back story that has me worried for some of the citizens in England. hahaha I really loved this book and I cannot wait for the next installment. Disgusting. Please don’t waste time or money on this garbage fire of a book!!!

Horrible. I honestly think the five star ratings are fake this book is horrible.

Too dark for me.. I read the first couple of chapters and put it down. I don't know if it gets better. The chapters i did read I will admit were very well written. But I'm just not into really dark books it was bordering on thriller/horror for me.

Dark and thrilling!. Pepper Winters is very creative with the storylines of Debt Inheritance. I did not think I would like dark romances, but I could not put the book down. After I finished book 1, I immediately bought book 2. The story is about a young woman, Nila Weaver, who has lived a sheltered life for 24 years and protected by her father and twin brother. Nila is abducted by Jethro Hawk because she is his inheritance present for his 29th birthday as penance for a 600 year old family vendetta between the Hawks and Weavers. She is abused by multiple people associated with the Hawk family. There are several twists and turns within the story that will tempt the characters in ways they could have never envisioned. What happens next? Well, I will read the next book to find out myself! (Read in 2015)

Twisted. I'm so mad I purchased this and wish I could get a refund. Well written but the story was beyond dark. I skipped to the last four chapters just to get it over with. I won't be getting the second book.

Disappointed. I had a hard time finishing this book. Was not aware the story took place in London, with out knowing the meaning of some of the words the interaction was lost on me and I couldn’t follow the what the author was trying to get across. It was hard to follow the story line with not understanding the what was going on. Don’t think I will be reading any of the follow up books.

Worst book ever!!!. Don't read this crap, is just a waste of time! Seems like the author might even enjoy some of the things she says in the book

Sickening. At first I was excited about the story and then actually felt sick, really sick, beginning where Jethro’s true personality came out (very early in the story). This story makes me think of the earliest signs of serial killers (torturing and killing animals, etc). Although for this story it is for potential rapists/ killers. It’s the written equivalent of the serial killers in the TV show, criminal minds, without the actual entertainment. There wasn’t anything redeeming.

If there is an option of negative stars, I gave it negative 5 stars.. This book is not worth reading. It's rape and sex abuse. Horrible book.

OMG!!. This series definitely starts out dark but quickly turns into so much more!! Its a love story with depths and valleys that take you to places that make you uncomfortable but with better understanding.

Don't waste your time. THIS STORY IS RAPE! It did not bring me any pleasure reading it whatsoever. It made me feel disgusted. Even though the beginning has you wondering and guessing what will happen.. (Basically she is used and abused for no reason) This story is way to dark for my taste and made me feel violated as a woman.. This story consists of kidnapping, rape and just makes you get the creeps. This kind of story should not be listed under ROMANCE IT SHOULD BE UNDER HORROR!! if this happened to you this would not be "erotic" this would be horrendous.

i have no words!. this is not your typical love story, so if you’re into that kinda story’s this book is not for you, this tale is about darkness and lust it is really good book i couldnt keep down i finished it in less than a day

Pepper Winters has a way with words. Another amazing taboo story.. Wow ! Pepper has the power of words. I'm completely Enthralled by each carefully chosen word. I can't wait to unfold the mystery behind the debt. What will Nila be forced to do for Jethro in payment of the debt? I love the uncertainty of the unexpected in this story. I love how Pepper challenges her readers with these new concepts for story lines. I'm always eager to read the dark and unruly stories that push the boundaries of fear. I love when writers evoke that sense of fear and lust. Kite gives Nila the power to let go of her control and fears and he taught her to embrace freedom. I love how Pepper takes her stories to the next level. Pepper thinks outside the box and for that I am grateful. Pepper brings the unexpected. Not nice to leave a girl hanging. I want to devour another addition of this amazing story. I have a new craving for Pepper's taboo stories. Pepper has spoiled my mind with her dirty and lustful creations. Pepper takes your to another realm. I'm captivated and enchanted by her ability to write stories that catapult the reader to a wild and dangerous place. Cliffhanger. I'll be waiting.

Horrible. There is nothing entertaining or romantic about this book!

Debt Inheritance, Book 1. Horrible book. It should not be listed in any erotica or romance section as it is instead a steady flow of physical and mental abuse and degradation with a very slow story. It feels more like a section of a bigger book as it is not a complete, free standing story on it’s own. There is absolutely zero romance or chemistry between the two main characters and the sex is really rape and sexual battery by multiple characters on the heroine. I got this is a freebee and have never complained - it was compared to Fifty Shades of Grey on the description (the blurb writer need to read both books before making that comparison). The writing is good, but it's development is slow (to allow for the extreme abuse). Not a repeat read nor something I’ll be paying for the additional books to read.

Cruel. This was a sadistic book. Why would someone write something like this. If you like being hit slapped or raped then this is the book for you!! I couldn't even stomach all of it. So glad I didn't have to pay for this I would have demanded my money back!

Ms. Always disappointing when you get to the end and realise there is a sequel but not even release till end 2014. Interesting book, a bit dark, would love to know what happens right now. Great Read.. I admit at first I didn't have high hopes for this series but as I got deeper and deeper the book took a hold of me and didn't let go. I found myself ignoring work and reading as I waited for my screen to load. Certainly a page turner and I'm falling in love with Nila and Jethro ❤️

Love this story. I have read a few of pepper winters story's and this one is one of the best, cannot wait for next book coming out soon. What an amazing and scary journey and twist and turns, I need the next book and could not put this down.

INDEBTED #1. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS. NEXT BOOK NOW PLEASE. You have to allow yourself to emmerse yourself into the characters so the explicit sexual content is second to what is really going on.

Unsure. The book is well written, certainly captivates, it delves into obscene depths of deprivation, and touches dark unspoken parts of the imagination. But I found this book similar to reading the first few chapters of a book, hence the disappointment with no end.

Indebted #1. This is dark and twisted. There are so many things wrong with this story but it draws you in and keep you riveted. Can't decide if the hero, Jethro, is really the devil incarnate or if he is has some redeemable features that will come out in later books. Nila has a strength that is coming out and hopefully she will survive. I guess I will have to read the next book to see how the story pans out.

OMG, sitting on the edge if my seat, could not put down yet didn't want it to end.... More please.. I so love Pepper Winters ability to write dark, scary, intense and arousing tales. As the reader I enjoy the struggle I have in solving the mystery and figuring out the characters. I also love that she never hold back on the torture she puts her characters through. This story is no different a talented Clothing Designer finds her life changed by a tall dark stranger who takes her away from everyone and everything she thought she knew, telling her that she is to pay off a family debt. What neither expects is how each effects the other. The setting and subject matter is not for the faint of heart pulling you totally out of the comfort zone though is so worth it. Once you take a odyssey of one of Pepper Winters stories you'll never be able to pass the next one up, she is just too addicting.

Very disrespectful for women. I read the book within couple days, I have to admit you can’t just put it down. But, it made me upset and offended as a women. No sensitivity or whatsoever. Also, no decent reasoning and explains story in a disturbing way. For me it was a waste of time.
