Incomparable. Read on the web but buy this version

The definitive review. Always on point, John nails it again.

Amazing research. The best and most thorough look into Yosemite. Really enjoying the review and little secrets I didnt notice when running the betas.

Siracusa at his best. I enjoyed every bit of this review, probably more than any other previous one.

A great in depth review as always. John's reviews of the OS help provide just the right amount of depth to give the reader an idea what is new with every release. This year in particular, the section on Swift helps explain this new cornerstone to Apple software development. Well worth the read for anyone interested in the new OS X release.

If we give enough stars maybe he'll write another?. Rumor has it this may be the last Mac OS X review penned by Siracusa. I hope he's compelled to continue reviewing future releases. I can't help but think of his reviews every time I accidentally confuse "back" and "up" in the Finder. :)

Fantastic and challenging. It’s trully challening to read John articles and reviews. He has such a deep knowledge of not only the subject at hand but also diverse array of related topics, that you must be prepared to follow quite a lot of links in this book. This is a book, like its predecessors, that demands a lot of time to be properly read. Several weeks after I got it, I have finished reading. It’s amazingly detailed and good.

Thoroughly enjoyable. I have been reading John's Mac OS X reviews since the beginning, and they never fail to disappoint. John's Yosemite review lives up to the high standards of his last work. If you're curious about Apple's latest operating system, this book is $5 well spent.

Amazing. As always, the Siracusa review is the pinnacle of tech reviews. I hope this isnt his last.

Thank you!. for your work of art.

Amazingly well done. John Siracusa has given so much good analysis of OS X over the years, and this is no exception.

Best review of OS X. Yet again, another great review of OS X. I look forward to these “books” each year. Well done!

Thanks. Thanks for your hard work. Really :)

Awesome sauce. Sure you can read it for free online but buy it because it's the right thing to do and maybe we can convince Mr. Siracusa to keep putting himself through hell every year to produce these epic reviews. 👍

Always a great read at new OS launch time!. John put another great review together this year and I'm glad to have made time to read it. I personally enjoyed the Swift details!

Deserves 5 stars in advance. Because Siracusa.

Siracusa Does It Again!. An exceptional work covering everything going on in Yosemite with a great historical perspective. You can almost feel the yearning for HFS+’s replacement when John reveals Core Storage is now on by default for even boot volumes. His coverage of Swift and, SIL, and LLVM IR is unparalleled.

The Quinessential OS X Review!. This book is the quinessentail OS X Review from one of the smartest and knowledgeable guys on the planet… and of course, I’m talking about Mr. Siracusa. If you want to REALLY get to know the inner-workings and understand the most notebable new features of OS X Yosemite, then this book is for you. For my money there is no one more capable and more knowledgable when it comes to understanding not only the newest features of OS X but the history behind it and what it means. In short, GET THIS BOOK!!! Its a no-brainer buy. Seriously… A no brainer.

Siracusa's Continuing Triumph. More than just a review, this is an enjoyable read; filled with whit and history. John Siracusa is the one and only reviewer for the Mac OS that bares full consideration. Well worth your time and money.

Brilliant Clarity. John is an exceptional communicator and an insightful teacher. His writing is sharp, concise, and deeply thoughttul. His OS X reviews are legendary, and this one is no exception. Anyone who wishes deeper understanding of the design philosophy of Yosemite will find this book an essential reference.

Thank you, John. Siracusa sets the gold standard for operating system reviews. It's a shame that other operating systems seem not to ignite the kind of passion that OSX does in John. When he retires from doing this labor of love, the void may never be filled. Enjoy his labor while you can.

Brilliant as always. What can I say. John Siracusa once again created a masterpiece. Please don't call it quits after this, John. Please.

Want to know what your new OS can do? Read this.. There's nothing better. I look forward to this with every release...

Yosemite. A true tour-de-force in tech writing. His incisive observations cut to the bone, and the innuendo scattered throughout brings welcome relief. John Siracusa has done it again - a solid review with an explosive and satisfying denouement.

Useless. Expected this book to be written entirely in Swift. Was left in a deep funk upon discovering it was actually written in robo-pedant-English. Also, no new file system.

Buy it. Excellent. And if you buy it, he's likely to write more of them. Also, no new filing system :-(

The only Yosemite review that matters. Other Yosemite reviews merely scratch the surface of what's going on, offering a fly by of new features that you've already made your mind upon along with a yay or new at the end. Siracusa digs in to what really matters, providing an depth look of what is going on without being boring. Honestly this is the only Yosemite review I've read that really brings something to the table.

Yosemite? Yo Diggity!. Siracusa does what he does best. Makes even complex topics readable, and sifts through the fine detail like an anally retentive archeologist. I really, really, really hope this is not his last one. He can’t give up until Apple ships a new file system at least.

Makes "Moby Dick" look like a tweet.. Siracusa does it again. Let’s get stuck in.

John never disappoints. As it is every year, the review is fantastic. The depth and knowledge that is poured into these yearly reviews is outstanding. I sincerely hope this continues. Don't hesitate to purchase this book and support John.

Fantastic as always. As always John Siracusa delivers the must read review of OS X for old time Apple watchers and newbies alike. Highly recommended!

Very comphrensive. Johns background knowledge of the Mac provides a great perspective to view Yosemite. Very impressive

In-depth and entertaining. As for all the past OS X releases, John's review is a great accompanying read. You'll learn about how OS X is evolving, many big and little things that changed, and get a deep insight into some of the changes. Thank you.

Few things in life you can rely on.... …but John Siracusa’s Mac OS review are one of them. No, I haven’t read it yet, since it’s not out. Yes, I gave it five stars. I’m completely comfortable with this.

Slam Dunk. Great review of so many fascinating details of Yosemite – makes me feel smarter just thinking about it!
