Great Series. Love the series so far. This is a delightful and heartwarming novel.

Hot, sexy, funny, and dramatic!. I flat out loved this book. It had everything I look for in a story. I loved the characters, the story, and the way it made me laugh, swoon, and cry. It's perfect. I can't believe I'm saying this especially considering the way I love Tangled, but Sustained may have just replaced it as my favorite Emma Chase book. It's certainly unforgettable. Jake Becker is a driven man. He's set on becoming partner and nothing is going to stop him. He's not one for attachments other than those to his friends. Women don't compute longer than it takes for him to get them and himself off. He's an honest manwhore. So when he meets Chelsea incidentally and suddenly things are topsy turvy. I loved Jake and being in his head. He's hilarious. I loved how he was with all of the McQuaids in particular the younger ones. I loved seeing him change his perspective towards his future. I understood his battles between what he thought he should do and what he needed. Jake wasn't an easy man. He might be a complete shark in the courtroom and do whatever needed to win, but he wasn't heartless. Chelsea McQuaid is something else. I adored her. She's so determined to do right by her brother, the way he did right by her. I felt her pain and understood her fears. She was alone, but she was trying her best to deal with her grief and that of her nieces and nephews. She needs help, in fact all the little ones need help and it seems like Jake found his way into their lives at just the right time. There's this special alchemy between Chelsea and Jake. They spark and flare, but can't stay away from each other. While neither are paragons of virtue, both are dealing with their changing realities and learning from the mistakes they make. I loved watching them be happy as much as I did watching them make up after a fight or disagreement. Jake and Chelsea are real and easy to relate to, especially when they're messing up. I loved how much I laughed while reading this story. It's not just Jake's dry tone of voice, but also the kids. They had me in stitches. I also loved how easy it was to connect to all of them. I read this book in a couple of hours because I couldn't bear to put it down. In fact I devoured the first quarter of the book in thirty minutes. The pages just flew by as I fell for Jake, Chelsea, and the kids. I loved seeing Stanton, Sofia, and Brent again. Emma Chase has done a magnificent job with Sustained. I foresee myself doing numerous re-reads of this book. My words are inadequate but the book speaks for itself. You must give it a try if you like soulful, moving, romantic comedies.

You can't help but love Jake. I received the paperback version of the story through a contest win, the author autographed it saying, "I hope you enjoy Jake!" Boy did I ever, from page one this character grabbed on and did not let go. The further into the story I read the more real he became...he didn't come across as two dimensional or flat, he was all 3D, as human and amazing as it gets. His falling for Chelsea just added to his appeal, his fight against it thinking he would loose himself, when all along he found more of himself then he realized. I truly believe that there isn't a reader who could not feel the pull of Jake towards Chelsea, and his fight not to fall...all Chelsea had to do was be herself and Jake was a goner. I don't believe I smiled as much as I did as when this story ended...of course the focus is on Brent now...Emma Chase is really going to have to step up her A game, she really set the bar high with Jake...I can't wait for Applealed to be released.

Love!. I love the friendship of Jake, Brent, Stanton and Sofia, love the interaction between them! Jake's story is awesome, the insta-family of 6 kids was a perfect setting for him.

Laughed Out Loud. Jake is hilarious. I don't usually laugh out loud while reading a book but man is the guy funny. He is your perfect knight in shining armor. Good read. Highly recommend. Couldn't put it down.

Sustained. I loved this story! I called in sick just to stay curled in bed to finish this book. Love, love, love!!!! If your looking for tears, laughter, heart break and an abundance of love-purchase this book. I will be indulging in the next story of this series right away.

Laugh out loud funny and steamy!. Thus has to be one of my favorite romance books...ever! I can't remember the last time I laughed so much, and out loud, at a romance! That's how well this book is written. Calamity of six kids, matching wits with cool and controlled Jake, made for an amazing story. Chelsea, as the aunt who dropped everything for her nieces and nephews made me cheer for her throughout the book. Chemistry real and steamy, even with circumstances. Just loved the dialogue, loved the cast of lawyer friends and can't wait to read Brent's story. I'll be an Emily Chase fan forever. I agree that this book "is special" and "on point"! After you've read the book you'll understand those quotes. Don't waste another minute without buying this book.

Surprisely more than I expected. This book is more than just about steamy sex, it's about compassion, a unique love; a love that is selfless and more than just about the couple. I've read it's standalone prior to reading this and am going to read it again..that's how good this book is!!

Just the right amount of sexy and sweet. Sustained is my favorite Emma Chase book since Tangled!. Sustained was such an absolute delight to read! I picked it up with the intention of just getting a quarter of the way through it before heading to bed. Before I knew, I was halfway in and couldn't put it down. I finished the whole book in one sitting, which I rarely do. From beginning to end, Sustained had me giggling and smiling with just the right amount of sexy and sweet. Sustained is my favorite Emma Chase book since Tangled! Jake Becker is a connoisseur of one-night stands. He has them down to a science. He sounds like a jerk, right? He kind of was. But after he is pick-pocketed by a punk almost ten-year-old, he starts to change his tune. He drops the kid off at home and discovers that he is actually one of six children whose mother and father recently died in a car crash. Their aunt, Chelsea, is their legal guardian and at twenty-six, she dropped out of college to care for her nieces and nephews. I loved how he didn't really have any intention of forming a bond with the kids, only to try to mack on Chelsea. But before he knew it, he started to feel protective of them. He wanted to take care of them and Chelsea and it kind of melted my heart a little bit. Kids in books are typically not my thing, but I came to adore all six of the kids in this book. Becker didn't really know how to handle himself around the kids and it was so freaking hilarious. I've been arrested—spent time in lockup with genuinely dangerous guys. I've been in street fights without rules where no one was coming to break it up—and I've won. I've conquered the insurmountable challenge of earning a law degree and dealing with self-centered jacka**es who are my clients without committing aggravated assault. It's a diaper. How hard could it be? I carry Ronan to his room, lay him on the pad on his dresser, and look him in the eyes, "Work with me buddy, okay?" Then, with one hand on his chest so he doesn't roll away, I Google it. One of the things I liked about this book was that the author really focused on building the relationship between Chelsea and Jake. I felt everything.While Jake wanted Chelsea in that way becoming attached wasn't really his cup of tea. I always like it when the romance just sneaks up on the main characters. There was also actual depth to Jake's character that really endeared me to him. He spends his weekends visiting his mentor at a nursing who was once a judge and now has Alzheimer's disease. He really looked up to him and was a great male role model and inspiration to Jake as a kid, being that he didn't have a father growing up. "And he was my hero. Everything I wanted to be. Everything my real father never was." All in all, this book was just really freaking fun to read and I will probably read it again. I giggled through so much of the book, what with a dog named Cousin It and the toddler, Regan, Jake calls "One Word" because she only says "Hi." It was really heartwarming with some sexy times and I think you should read it! * I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Almost didn't buy this book.... and still have mixed feelings about it. I HATE first person writing and this was told from Jake's view. Until the fourth chapter I was fighting myself to just give it up and not read it after all because Jake had zero redeeming qualities. I thought he was a cold-hearted sex and ego maniac--a major jerk. However, the fourth chapter got my attention and kept me reading. What unfolded was a compelling story that alternately had me laughing and fighting tears. Was this book perfect? No, and I could do without the all profanity much of the time, especially the "F" word, since it didn't really enhance the plot. However I became so involved in the story I barely saw the curse words after a few more chapters. I loved Chelsea, the plucky aunt, and was rooting for her all the way. The main characters were rich and complex, supporting characters added to the story and I loved all six children, too. The impossible happened--I actually began to like and understand Jake's character. His courtroom defense of the family was brilliant!! If you can stand first person tales, heavy profanity and steamy sex acts with a hero who has to earn your respect and a heroine you love who's able to warm the coldest of hearts, this book is for you! Otherwise, skip it!

MY FAVORITE BOOK. This is the book i read whenever i need to get out of a reading slump. So many elements to it. Equally funny and romantic. Love love this book, so happy i stumbled upon it.

Can I just say that I LOVE Emma Chase?. I love this freaking series so much, and right now Jake Becker is my favorite book boyfriend~ He is a hot alpha lawyer who is used to getting things done his way, both in and out of bed. But when he runs into a little boy who pickpockets him, his life is changed forever. His instant chemistry with Chelsea is what awesomeness is made of and the way that he continues to fight things from getting serious, but can’t stay away is to die for. If you haven’t picked up this book yet, PLEASE!! What are you waiting for? One-Click this book and you will not regret it at all!

Well written story!. This story captivated me from the beginning. Jake and Chelsea kept me entertained from the beginning. I laughed, shed some tears and couldn't put my iPad away until I finished it. Jake is now one of my favorite book boyfriends! Great job Emma Chase. Definitely ordering your next book.
