Invasion by Johnny B. Truant & Avery Blake Book Summary

Start the first book in the blockbuster Invasion series; the breakout sci-fi series with over 1000 5-star reviews.

THEY ARE COMING. THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN...

The discovery of objects approaching from Jupiter's orbit sets humanity on edge, sending cities into panic. Most is unknown, but thanks to the popular Astral space app, everyone knows the few facts the government has tried to hide:

The objects are enormous spheres numbering in the dozens, maybe hundreds. They are on an approach vector toward Earth … and they will arrive in six days.

Entrepreneur Meyer Dempsey is in New York, realizing the time has come to act on all the preparations he's made without ever consciously knowing why. For years Meyer has been preoccupied by a dreamlike sense of coming peril and knows where he must take his family … if, that is, they can make it before society eats itself alive with fear.

The end is only beginning ...

★★★★★ "This is a real page-turner. The action is fast paced, with lots of twists and turns. It's very hard to put down, and I'm pretty much exhausted from staying up every night until the wee hours of the morning." -- DBStevens

★★★★★ "I stayed up late Christmas Eve reading this book; I finished it Christmas morning. I hadn't planned on doing that. It just sort of happened. Why? The reason's simple: I couldn't put it down." -- Terrance A. Crow

★★★★★ "Invasion fully deserves its five stars for its thoughtful and grounded portrayal of life and love under duress. The authors integrated a great deal of prepper culture into the story, and every detail was carefully considered." -- Steven Pratt

★★★★★ "This is clearly the beginning of a huge series, and should be read as such...if you don't have the patience to watch a complex tapestry of events unfold over several books, you probably don't want to start this story. If, on the other hand, you LOVE big scifi stories with multiple threads and more than one mystery...you'll love Invasion." -- B. Johnson

★★★★★ "The tension and suspense is top-notch and kept me reading far into the night. These guys know how to write a thriller, I'm telling you. This is probably the best thriller I've read all year. I would pick this book over anything written by Stephen King or Dean Koontz, no question." -- Mark Messick

This relentless, page-turning tale of first contact is the first book in the Alien Invasion completed series.

Invasion and Contact. Both are wonderful well written and if you read these books, you will enjoy them!

Great series!. If you like the tv show Ancient Aliens or are familiar with ancient astronaut theory you will enjoy these books. The first book may start a little slow but the next two really pick up the action and get to the real story. I really like how the series is based on Earth it hits home and how it ties in some of the oldest human stories and myths with hard evidence such as unexplained structures and places its very believable.

Invasion. Loved this book, jumping on the next one now. Great story line about what happens before and being prepared Bryan D

ARC. Loved the story! Looking forward to the other six.

Great start!!. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Who are they. Why are there strange ships visiting Earth? If they acted like the White man coming to the New World, then we are all in big trouble. Let the adventure start. Great story kept me glued to the book. A few clues being exposed to keep me trying to figure out what the aliens are up to.

Wow!. I was so into this book I actually stayed up til 3am to finish it. I'm 1/4 into Contact and I foresee another late night!

Invasion. Enjoyable, can't wait to continue series. Love the bit about everything is empty when you get molecular size. Electrons rule. But why did you decide on space travel, when everyone else just drops out of another space and is there! Did the aliens just want to scare us? Regards, Colin

Intense. This was well written and kept me hooked, looking forward to the next book,

Invasion. I enjoyed the book... It kept me reading until the end and I wanted to read the next book in the series right away...

Invasion. Always looking for a good Sifi and hit the jackpot with Invasion couldn't put it down

Good Read!. I liked that it told the story from all the character angles and it was funny at unexpected times.

Invasion. After reading the TOMORROW'S GONE series I immediately searched for another. In spite of INVASIONS seeming to drag at some points in the narrative I was hooked and have already began CONTACT. Keep up the good work!!

Gripping!. Highly addictive story. One of those books that you have to force yourself to put down or you will finish it in a night! Well done to the authors.

Indiana. Well done. Sometimes predictable, but decent character development. Worth a look.

Invasion. This book was very, very hard to put down. It is wholly engrossing and the authors have created characters that are complex yet relatable. If you read sci fi I strongly recommend you give it a read!

Lousy overall.. Poorly conceived and badly written. Sorry, I opened it.

Great read!. Very well written. Not too many characters. Funny and thrilling at the same time. Well worth the read.

Invasion. I liked Invasion very much because it is the start of the series and let's me know how everyone gets to Vail. I started with Contact and this book fills in how it started.

Good story and characters. Cliffhanger ending. It's an entertaining read with an interesting cast, just odd enough to be likable. The ending, well..., a bit unexpected but pulled together some of the oddities in the plot. Anything more would be a spoiler and anyway I have to run and start book 2

Moves at The Speed of an Alien Invasion. If you understand that this is not a self-contained book, but one of a series, then you will be highly satisfied. The main characters are well rounded. The plot is simple enough, but provides plenty of drama as Meyer and his family attempt to survive Armageddon by getting to their hidden bunker in the mountains. There is enough mystery to Meyer’s obsession to move the story forward. It’s an easy weekend read and a great summer indugence. Of course, you must read the next book in the series to continue the story…And why wouldn’t you want to?

Love /Hate. Heres the deal guys,I’m one of those readers who love to discover new gems by reading the free downloads and if I get hookeddon’t mind paying for the sequels. Usually they tend to fall in the $2 to $4 dollar range. Not you guys! when I first read the first Invasion series book I was hooked. You guys have a great writing style and I thought these will be writers to follow and enjoy. But by book four the dew was off the lily. By now I have realized you guys are working a style of formula writing I will call the “one step forward two steps back”approach. With each chapter or so we are subjected to having the same material we have already read spoon fed us again within the musings of the different characters. A little of this is expected but WOW! you guys are masters. Why would you do this ? Why to stretch your one book into many of course and charging a rather hefty price at $4.99 which in the digital age is bit of overkill. As much as I have enjoyed this series, when it is finished then so am I. I’m seventy one and due to the time constraints that entails, I just want to move along a little faster with the stories I decide to take bites out of my life with. More is not always better guys!

Invasion series.. Loved this book! Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Long winded and boring. Another wanna movie series book deal author

Invasion. It was good enough for me to download the second. I am not a big Sci-fi fan, except Star Trek, but it was enjoyable.

Invasion. This entire book is a "soap opera" lead up to maybe some actual action in the following books in the series. It was too irritating after a few pages to finish other than to flip pages to the end and wonder "what the heck"!!

A book not to be omitted. Unique story and excellent writing. Thanks.

Enjoyed it. The ending surprised me seeming both as an afterthought and quick way to end Meyers journey. But generally ok.

invasion. interesting plot, well written. I am currently reading contact because of the riveting ending to invasion.

Don't start at bedtime. A free book has a possibility of being just what it's worth. Wrong! This story is tightly written with believable characters. A very intelligent and wealthy man believes "something" is coming. He begins to prepare by building a bunker in Colorado. He tries to teach his new wife and two teenaged children from a prior marriage how to prepare for what's coming. They humor him, but then dots seen in space begin to grow into ship like objects and are predicted to reach earth in less than a week. What the family goes through in trying to reach Colorado is terrifyingly real. The exwife, his daughters' boyfriend and three thugs add more suspense to the mix. I read this book in one sitting and I'm sure the follow up book will be a nail biter.

Highly Recommended!!. This book kept me occupied for 3 days! Such a good read, I guarantee it.

Invasion. The writing was such that it pulled me in. I wasn't just reading a story but was along for the ride. The ending was perfect. It seemed to complete the plot and wet my appetite for what's next. I can not wait to jump into Contact.

Great read. I like this book a lot. Ending very X-file ish.

In The Beginning. This book presents you ultimately with a riddle to solve. You are introduced to a very rich and eccentric man named Meyer. He has spent time exploring the mysterious realm introduced to him by a shaman setting him on a quest to protect his family from what he believes to be a world ending event in his lifetime. He relies heavily on visions he has while under the influence of a psychotropic substance the shaman prepares for him and his ex-wife to predict this future event, but he is unsure of a lot. He builds a protective survivalist shelter and this part of the story is about he and his families journey to get there in a remote isolated part of Colorado. The story is gripping and will keep your attention right to the end. I couldn’t put it down. I read it in just a few hours. It leaves you wanting to find out what happens next.

👍. It was pretty good, I like the plot because there isn’t that many alien apocalypse stories out there. I lost interest about halfway in though.

Halfway through contact. And Im hooked - finished invasion and appreciated the pacing and lack of a rush - characters are developed and my interest in findign out what happens is strong!

A must read!!. I must admit, I was hesitant about getting this book, as I'm not too big into stories having to do with aliens, but I decided to try reading something different for once, and I was not disappointed! This is a great starter story for the series, really pulls you in and leaves you wanting to know what happens next! Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great series to get into!

Invasion. Very well written and intriguing story. It kept me enthralled and found it hard to put down.

Contact. Good story so far, looking forward to the next books.

Good read. The good: easy read, page turner, good pace and great plot. The bad: ending was abrupt and felt rushed.

Great read!. I happend on this book quite accidentally and am so glad I did. Science fiction at its best and once I started the book I could not put it down. And I've now downloaded the next one. Can't wait to read all of them.

Roadtrip. Great. a Roadtrip, not Science fiction. Why did I buy this! Disappointing till the end. Still waiting for something interresting to happen.

Exciting and Surprisingly Apt. When you read Invasion, you'll be pulled along by the plot, drawn into the characters, and left wondering if you actually could do better under the circumstances.

Well written, but drawn out.. This book is a good start to this series, although I doubt I'll read the rest. The writers dragged this first book out with too much character development and not enough plot. This multiple book story might be for some, but not me. I'd rather read one good book and move onto another. But like I said it is well written, so you might enjoy it.

Awesome read. I really enjoyed this book. Well written. Fast paced. Hard to put down. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

Eh!. Not my cup of tea style of writing.

Gripping...but. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I didn't expect to and I'm glad that my expectations weren't met. As good as the book is there were a couple things that did irritate me in the writing of the two adult women. They written more like women first, rather than people first. However, I don't think this was the authors intention there are a few moments that are little cringe inducing. I recommend the book nevertheless. It's still a gripping tale and I definitely want to know what happens next.

interestingly different. Reads like an in dept human interest story with psychological commentary on familial & sociatal relationships. Caan’t wait to read sequel

A great read!. I can't wait to see where the journey continues. This really is good book to read. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was there should have been a better way to show they were thinking of the past of having a "flashback".

Cliffhanger alert. Hard time finishing, does not flow well. Very boring with intermittent bits of excitement. Then ending in a cliffhanger.

Invasion. Very readable story, due in a large part to the likeable characters and the fact that their world and tech are not too far from what we use now to be believable. I think most readers will be very interested in finding out what happens to Meyer Dempsey and his extended family. I'm looking forward to reading Contact

Invasion. Wow, a great read, can't wait to get to the next book and find out what happens next.

Twist. You read two books in one. The obvious plot is exciting and hints along the way suggest something else. At the end you will be initially shocked or disappointed, then intrigued and wonder what's next.

Invasion. A believable ‘Aliens’ book that doesnt forget the reader has to imagine the scenes and thankfully doesnt forget to write for the reader not the professional critics. A cracking series for the regular people amongst us.

Good read. It kept me hooked from the first pages.

Wow. Fantastic read, brilliant characters.

An interesting beginning.... Despite not liking ANY of the pitifully shallow and dreadfully annoying main characters (I'm really hoping the aliens kill them all one by one in violent and gratifying ways) something compels me to read on. It has the trappings of what could be a good series, but I do hope we soon happen upon some characters actually worthy of surviving and cheering for. Well written with good pacing, but I do hope it gets to the point in book 2 or I'll politely bow out.

Really Good Read. About the only books I read are Science Fiction and was taken in right from the start with the storyline and characters. I am now really looking forward to reading the second installment which I have already downloaded.

Compelling. Great introduction to a series. Liked all of it, will be chasing up the rest of the series. Thankyou.

Loved it!. Was engrossed right from the start. Fascinating insight into social behaviour, great characters and the story line kept me hooked. Couyldnt wait to read book two and now waiting for number 3!

Loved it :). Can easily picture this on screen, couldn't put it down!

Loved it!. What a page turner. Loved every moment of it.

Invasion. A very good start to what most of us hope will be a very good 7 -10 book saga. Sets up the oddball characters and the story line beautifully.

So good!. Very well written, am up to book three now and still can't wait to read more!

What an amazing read. This was a great page turner. Well written, interesting story line, great characters. The only problem is now I am so tired from reading late into the night because I couldn't put it down! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

AWESOME. Platt and Truant know how to write. This sci-fi series leaves you wanting to download the next book before you have finished reading the current one; just so you don't have a pause in between reading them. I think that says it all.

Contact. Read the first 2 books. Can't wait for the 3rd. Great reading. Keep on writing

Gripping. This was hard to put down! Enjoyed a lot

Invasion. Not bad, I quite enjoyed this book. It was a good page turner and I'm looking fwd to reading the next one!

Gripping and intense!. Was pulled in from the first page. Great story!

A Good SF Read. Just finished "Invasion". Well-written, fast-paced, attention-holding science fiction drama. Obviously sets the scene for much more to come and holds the promise of developing some intriguing new concepts - just what does Meyer "know"? How have his mind-bending drug escapades given him this knowledge? And what sort of man is he to have such inner strength, unswerving resolve and ability to extricate himself (and his family) from such difficult situations? There is no way you can resist going on to the next book! Well done, sirs! Steve Petito Adelaide, South Australia

😍. i LOVE THIS BOOK

Great Book. I really enjoyed this book! I have just finished reading Invasion and I can't wait to read the next one in the series. I'd defiantly recommend reading this book

Invasion. One of the best contemporary Sci-fi books I have ever read. The premise, characters, word pictures and context are brilliant. I would highly recommend the entire series to anyone.

Read it!. Great apocalypse story, better than The Walking Dead (no zombies!), with plenty of suspense to keep you reading. Highly recommended.

Amazing!. Interesting take on the alien invasion tale. How would society react? Humans are scared of the unknown and when faced with it directly we would most definitely see the best and worst in humanity. This is a story about survival and being scared of the unknown but also having to deal with opportunists and mob mentality on a huge scale. Your family is the only people you can trust when the world you know is ending.

Keeps you going. This was a really enjoyable read, it keeps you wondering what's going to happen right until the very very end. Will check out the second in the series.

fabulous!. I loved the suspense, couldn't put it down. well written and very descriptive

Invasion. A journey into raw, human emotion

Invasion kept me reading late into the night!. I am over a half century old. I have been reading novels since I was about 12 years old. I've read so many books from so many genres that I find myself being very judgemental of a story very quickly. If it doesn't catch my attention, if I don't like or connect with the characters within the first few chapters, I don't bother reading more of it. There are too many good stories to bother with a slow, Poorly written one. This one grabbed me and kept me! Good pacing, mostly likeable characters and a mystery not revealed until the end. Hell yes I want to read book two! Good on ya guys. I'll keep watching for your titles!

Invasion. Good character development and intriguing plot

Very interesting so far..... Well I just finished this first book (of 7!?!) and while the travel across the land felt a bit stretched out, the authors kept the story moving and the tension building. I look forward to learning more about the main character's manic drive to complete his mission and to why he step into the unknown at the end.

Invasion. Excellent book - couldn't put it down. Can't wait to start the second in the series.

Invasion. Excellent read

Love the book. The story flowed really well and you found yourself caring for the characters. I enjoyed the book immensely

Fast paced and fun. A great post-apocalyptic story

Invasion. Loved this book-read it straight thru (no sleep) & am looking forward to seeing what happens next!!

Couldn't put it down. This book was a great find! Aliens are coming and humans are freaking out, as usual. The authors know what you want and deliver it.

Invasion. Really enjoyed this story and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for an attention grabbing thrill ride. Was very hard to put down and am now reading the second in the series, "Contact" which also grabbs your imagination with the origional thinking and fast pace. Well done guys!

I'm hooked!. I loved the writing, loved the plot, LOVED the ending. Can't wait for the next one(which I just downloaded for free, by the way). I'm glad that this first book didn't just follow the usual parameters of an invasion book. The authors are right when they say, the first book sets the scene; where things began so to speak. Excellent job gentlemen.

Invasion. Couldn't put it down - well paced, great characters and a twist at the end that had me immediately download the next book. Great read!

Addictive Book. I really enjoyed this one. It was very easy to connect with and understand each of the characters involved, the writing was so well done. I found myself picking up the book every free chance that I had, because it gets so fast paced, that it kept me wondering, "What's happening now?" It's not your typical book about aliens, as it centers more on the people and what their reactions are, and what would take place among them given the threat of an invasion. One of the best post-apocalyptic books I've read in a long time, and I couldn't wait to start the next one.

Invasion. An excellent book. I know I have to readContact.

Great read!. I didn't really know much about this book, but I picked it up on a recommendation and I loved it. Great start to the series, does an awesome job of introducing the characters and makes you care about what happens to them. Give it a shot.
