Okay?. This was a pretty good book. The main character had to overcome a lot of obstacles and thank goodness for Micheal. He’s exactly what she needed and was the perfect protective boyfriend who could help her heal. My only critique was towards the end. The main character and her self-sabotage and self-pity was way to much to handle. I was skipping pages I was so annoyed with her. I get you went through tragedy but Micheal has been with her through it all. When he goes through a tragedy himself, all of a sudden she can’t deal? Annoying. Micheal is better off in my opinion.

Amazing story!!. Absolutely fantastic!!

Couldn’t put it down!. There are times when you want a good juicy with everything story and this delivers. I couldn’t put this down and had to finish it as soon as possible. And now that it’s done, I’m sad.

Confused. The girls name wasn’t revealed until page 25. Until I learned her name the book droned on and on about random junk. Without any context the beginning of the book was crap. I got so bored confused and angry I gave up.

Wonderful story. Awesome character development. Couldn’t put it down. Loved Layla’s journey.

twisted. well that was some pretty sicko garbage there. a good story, could have been absolutely heart wrenching if not for the unlikeable characters. she's not sexy, she's pathetic. he's not dominant, he's just another know it all douche canoe. no other real character development for him, just way too much of her.

Dawson plays the emotional scale with aplomb. The first I have read by Jennifer Dawson and I’m seriously wondering just how I missed her! Her writing is tight and polished: each word leads you neatly to the next without stutter or babble, and the characters are alive on the page, sharing their own issues, worries and dreams. Layla is a businesswoman whose life was rocked by tragedy. In her moments of ‘what if’ she bemoans all she has lost, and as we all do, wants to feel that way again: connected, wanted, safe and protected. Her journey to find a new footing in the life she has now, and to somehow deal with her own guilt over John’s death. Grasping at straws, she has returned to what was familiar in her life with him, the sex themed club they frequented. Several random encounters with men, Layla is in control, keeping her lines drawn and walls up. Until Michael. Michael is so much more than the ‘typical’ dom: while he sees the desire and need for the control that comes with submission in Layla, he’s not going to push her into the ‘call me Master’ role as is so common in many romances that play with BDSM of late. Instead, there is a true interest in Layla as a person: he wants to share her burdens, lighten her heart and help her to find her footing in the world again. A slow-growing D/s relationship story, the build and development is realistic and carefully plotted: you can see the development of the trust, confidence and caring that must be present in these relationships, and the realization that their connection will be so much more than scratching an itch. The continual tension of the lust, desire and hope for ‘something more’ between Michael and Layla is a delicious appetizer: while not laden with pure sex or heat, the moments that do exist impact all the more for the emotional connection between them and the reader’s empathy with the characters. Secondary characters make appearances that tweak interest for more, but the true focus is on the relationship that unfolds before our eyes, feeling real and wholly emotional, daring us to invest in this story and series. Dawson plays the emotional scale with aplomb, bringing the characters’ humanity to light, allowing readers to experience the story as if present in real time. Craveing for more!!. Great characters, heart warming story, super alpha sexy male that’s “not handsome”, strong stubborn woman and an awesome love story. Proud of this ChiTown author. CRAVE more and you will too!!

Not a bad read.. Loved the romance between Micheal and Layla. Would have liked there to be a bigger twist in the book than what there was, but I fell in love with their story. Definitely can’t wait to pick up the second book!

Soulful. This book was an excellent read. It was so much more than what I thought it was going to be. After reading so many erotic books, they tend to be the same old thing. This one has a heroic twist in the end that brings a tear to the eye.

Crave. This book deserves 10 stars . I feel the loss and mourning of losing your fiancé . I feel distraught at not living up to family expectations . And I can also feel the hope of happiness that you just can't touch or trust. Yes all this emotion in a book!!

“Crave” by Jennifer Dawson. Very powerful beginning. Gripping! The sexual tension is off the charts! The power dynamic is fascinating. Could NOT put this book down! I’ve never read this author before, but HOLY COW! She is DEFINITELY on my radar now!
