Blue Murder by Emma Jameson Book Summary

The New York Times Bestselling Series

Two Dead Men

In London’s fashionable Chelsea, a Halloween bash goes terribly wrong. Emmeline Wardle, daughter of a frozen foods baron, throws a party which results in the demise of two university schoolmates. Handsome golden boy Trevor Parsons is dead. So is pasty computer nerd Clive French. Both died on the Wardle estate within minutes of one another, and both died the same way – an axe to the skull. Given the social connections of all involved, New Scotland Yard sends a real baron to investigate: Chief Superintendent Anthony Hetheridge, also known as Lord Hetheridge, ninth baron of Wellegrave.

Two Prime Suspects

This time around, Detective Sergeant Kate Wakefield and her partner, Detective Sergeant Deepal “Paul” Bhar, have their work cut out. Bhar must contend with Emmeline Wardle, a spoiled blonde with a penchant for the finer things, including a certain illegal white powder. Kate must decide if Kyla Sloane, model-pretty and delicate, is being truthful about the events of that fateful night. And if Kyla’s connection to a former lover of Bhar’s means nothing – or everything.

Lord & Lady Hetheridge, Book Two

Return to the world of Ice Blue in Blue Murder, the second of the Lord & Lady Hetheridge series. In addition to solving the double murder in Chelsea, Anthony Hetheridge plans on proposing marriage to Kate for the second time. He has the ring. Now all he needs is the proper moment...

Love at the crime scene. So fun following Kate& Tony pretending to hide their love that all can see

Blue Murder. Wonderful, page-turner. Thoroughly entertaining. Witty, intelligent, and interesting. So well written I had no problem remembering characters & following them into every fascinating facet of this fabulous fiction. ;)

Review. Closing sentence is wildly ungrammatical!

Such promise - just wish the language was consistent!. This has all the makings of a series I would adore reading... I really wanted to enjoy these books. The only trouble is that as a Brit I found it tough going because every few pages I tripped up on an American English turn of phrase that just didn't fit and interrupted my reading pleasure! I read the first in the series, and was so keen to enjoy the well defined characters, plot and story telling, that I persevered despite this issue. However mid way through the second book in the series I became quite disillusioned - the frequency of inaccuracies increased considerably. I read these books on my iPhone, but if either the author or publisher would like to send me a paper print out I'd be more than happy to take out my highlighter pen and provide a free British English copy edit! It's a real shame because I imagine other British readers will abandon this otherwise talented author for the same reason, and wish it wasn't so!

British writhing at its best!. These books keep one captive until you are finished and can’t wait to read the next in the series. It is certainly in true British form. Yet it makes you aware that politics are basically the same everywhere.

Blue murder. Love the gov, great British crime solving with a well molded cast of characters

Full os suspense. This is the second book of Emma Jameson that I have read. Her books are well written and easy, quick reads. They are full of suspense and keep my reading. If your in the mood for fun books to read, I would definitely try reading the Lord Hethridge series.

Blue Murder by Emma Jameson. A quick pleasant read. Sometimes one wants a book like this to while away the time.

Blue murder. I love this book very much Interesting and engaging

A Great Crime Fighting Trio. I have really enjoyed this series. It is great to see the team together again. Tony, Kate and Paul always have fun interactions while they work to solve murders. They are very different from one another in terms of their backgrounds but have the same drive to solve crimes regardless of the obstacles. In this second book in the series, we get to spend more time meeting Kate's sister and Paul's mother and learn a great deal about Paul's past. It explains a lot of his behavior. Kate is just coming back after recovering from her miscarriage. Tony has been eager for her return. A double murder at a home hosting a Halloween party is just what she needs to get back in the game. We have plenty of upper-class suspects including an especially intriguing aristocrat who was acquitted of a triple murder and is a neighbor. There are lots of secrets being kept by this group and being selectively revealed to the detectives. Like in the first book, one member of the team has close ties to the case that could lead to issues. I really like how the author alternates between points of view among the three. It definitely gets you in their heads like no other technique could. Learning more about Kate and Paul is especially helpful in understanding their current behaviors and their insecurities. Tony continues to not be shy about pursuing Kate regardless of the consequences. He knows what he wants and is at the point in his life where he is not going to compromise and accept less. I enjoy the mystery of the crime but it is truly the relationships that make the experience so enjoyable. In the end, the author ties the story together well and makes you eager for their next adventure. I received a copy in return for a honest review.

Good book!!!. Really enjoyed this book! Well written with interesting and quirky characters. I’m starting the next in the series.

Blue Murder. Great story line. Perfect length. Well written. Cherrio!

Mystery romance. A good mystery romance. May be a bit slow but good story. Like the characters and the hint of romance. In all a good mystery romance.

Lord & Lady Hetheridge Series. I have read a good deal of mysteries and whodunnits and I recommend Emma Jameson as one of the best. I have been tiring of the female detective genre as it was getting old but Ms Jameson has truly refined it. Her prose is much better than most, there are fewer missed typos, and her characters actually seem real! Joe G

Blue murder. A compelling mystery that kept you guessing as to who did it. Enjoyed the read.

Great book. I really enjoy your writing. I like mysteries that are clean and fun, which definitely includes this series.

Blue Murder. Fast paced, strong plot, and good character development.

Blue murder. A v dry compelling read with the outcome unknown till the very end.

A Treasure. Witty dialogue and delightfully rich characters make me want to read this book more than once!

Blue Murder. Can’t wait to read the next one! This was a good story with a few interesting twists.

Blue Murder. Thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable.

Wonderful Series. I very much enjoyed the first book in this series, and was not disappointed with this follow-up. The writing and the story lines are excellent, but what makes Jameson’s novels really stand out are the compelling characters. Tony, Kate and Deepal are real people, you like them and you want them to succeed. Lord Hetheridge reminds me of Martin Shaw in his roles as George Gently and Dalgliesh with his great combination of intelligence, reserve and thoughtful consideration. Kate and Deepal measure up as his capable assistants. Once started, these books are hard to put aside, even briefly.

Blue Murder. Liked the characters and the story. A good read without actually being too violent or scary.

Blue Murder. Giving this 5 stars for precisely what it is and portends to be - an English cozy. It is a nearly perfect balance of sophistication and cozy. I am one that requires some depth along with the comfort of a cozy and this delivers. I am always on the hunt for a serial mystery of the level of Grimes and Stout (in order alphabetically only). The Blues are not of this caliber but come closer than most. Thankful for Jameson’s work.

Interesting and entertaining. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I liked this story better than the first one. The same great characters were still there, but the storyline wax able took move more quickly, since there was no need for a long introduction of each character. I also liked how it started pretty close to where the other story ended.

Great Read. I love these books! They are easy to read but keep you engaged; onto the next! Can’t wait for more to come.

Loved it!. Emma Jameson writes another page turner guaranteed to loose sleep over. My favorite kind of stories. The characters are well fleshed out and believable and the storyline is compelling. I loved it and can't wait for the next one.

Intriguing. Moves fast. Memorable characters. Real twist at the end. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Good book!. I know, what an inane title to this review. But the other words I was coming up with, charming, delightful, heartwarming, didn’t seem appropriate for a thriller novel. Yes, there are plenty of scenes related to a criminal investigation, and all are good. My one criticism is that that portion of the book didn’t seem completed. I still have some questions that hopefully will be answered in the next book. The ongoing story of Kate and Tony WAS completed, to a thoroughly satisfying ending!

Blue Murder. Well written, kept me guessing until the end. Enjoyed the relationship between the three main characters.

Blue Murder. Yes. This is a winner, a very good read. Interesting, funny, not sure if police procedures are correct and I don’t care, they make sense. The characters are genuine and the dialogue is funny but it’s not predictable. Thank you Emma Jameson.

void. If you love the English language, be prepared to cringe on every page as you read this. The author has a very odd idea of life in the UK. It sticks in the craw when the research is so bad that even the name of our most famous high street store, Marks and Spencer, is spelt incorrectly!

Blue Murder. Great story, captivating, thrilling, amusing with a touch of romance. Absolutely loved it.

Another good tale. This the second book in the series sees us back again with Kate, Deepal and Tony. Within the first chapter it had me smiling as the interplay between Kate and her partner, Deepal, reminded me of why I enjoyed the first book, it was Ms Jameson's skill in creating a beautifully crafted story with great attention to the plot whilst maintaining interesting characters that are multidimensional. They each have their own problems yet with plenty of action and a good dose of humour they work together to solve a double murder that occurred in a crowded party. A well written tale and well worth the read.

Second in the series. Just like the first, I loved the read. There is a rare purity of language and a great ability for story telling. Just bought the third. Come on, Emma, get your skates on, I'm catching up! M

Blue murder- continues the story. Book 2 continues the romance among another first rate British murder mystery. Some uniquely drawn characters make for an interesting read. I enjoyed the level of storey plot and quality of writing. Real characters in all their imperfections. On to book 3.

Blue Murder. A wonderful set of diverse characters. The Blue books are a rich mixture of suspense, romance and comedy.

It’s amazing. K you should get it
