An epic fantasy. If you have played any total war war hammer this book feels very skaven! Loved it and I don’t love much!

Thrilling. This book had me in a constant state of suspense and adrenaline, each fight was more gruesome and more vivid than the last. It was so easy to come back and continue reading from wherever you left off because each chapter was so memorable. 1st book I read all year and now I need to continue the series.

Amazing!. I really enjoyed this read. Not only do I love the multiple perspective story at the beginning but how it comes together is amazing and truly beautiful! Highly recommended!!

Waxing Philosophic. I can understand and appreciate the attempt to balance a gore filled story with a bit of prose and theory about good and evil. However it was an attempt that failed as overbearing snippets from fictional historic characters from that world, poorly done flash backs, and forced conversations are shoved down my throat. Keep to the gore, leave the philosophy for another day.

Awesome. Efn’ Awesome!

Dark, violent.....exciting. This series will take you for a ride down the anti-hero highway. The three main characters, all from diverse backgrounds, are forced into paths they never chose. Each going through their own personal hell and emerging not how you’d quite expect. Plenty of intrigue, magic, monsters and violence. If you like fast-paced brutal action, unexpected twists and chaotic-neutral type heroes, this series is for you. On a side note, coming from a gamer’s perspective, this series would make an excellent open world/rpg epic game....just saying 🤘🏼

A quick read and enjoyable.. A super fast and fun read, good characters and an entertaining plot with well written descriptions of events. The first book reminds me of a session zero for a table top rpg- it introduces the characters to the reader and each other well and I am excited to see where the story goes from her, will certainly read the rest!

Smart Story. So well told. I loved this story, the fights, the relationships. I want to read more by this writer.

Great Fun. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely keep reading the series! The stories are pure fantasy, the violence had me gasping more than once (in a good way), and the characters provide both humor and heart. Also loved the overall theme of redemption, camaraderie and the perils of organized religion. In short, for pure escape, this book has a little something for everyone. Enjoy!

Fire and sword. Very rarely do I write a review..... I loved this book. Dark heroes with dark pasts, bright heroes and heroines. Intertwined with laugh out loud moments, budding love and dark angry violence. Excellent

Cartoony. I am honestly perplexed at the overall ratings of this book. The writing is just... cheesy, clunky, full of cliches, as though written by a melodramatic teenager. I’m trying hard not to sound mean or petulant, but it just comes across to me as amateurish and childish to me. I’m glad for the author’s sake that so many others seem to like it.
